Individually skim all four homework essays. What’s good about each one? What could use work?
With a partner, decide what score (0-5) each essay would probably get. (Score levels are described on p. 386 of the DELTA book.)
What could the writer do for an additional 0.5 or 1 point?

parent company = franchising company (e.g. McDonald’s as a whole corporation)
franchise = one specific business (e.g. the McDonald’s on Washington St.)
franchise owner = the person who owns a specific franchise
Be careful not to use the exact sentences from the reading passage. Too much of that will get a 0, because it’s plagiarism.
