Really, the interactions with the AltRight show how bad the Fukuyuma-types are going to handle it when it continues to rise (concern over demographic change electing Trump after all) and we have people like Steven Pinker stepping into low key political activism to try and stop it. If you read his book Enlightenment Now he mostly concerns himself with right wing nationalist movements for this reason. But even seems to be peddling wishful thinking in his recent talks. And Pinker is a hereditarian/race-realist like them, he accepts all the same data but I get the sense he hoped nobody would notice.

Because, and Sargon typifies this, it's just a parade of gotcha attempts, simple answers to complex questions, and optimism which just disconnects you from most people. To give an example of the first point: it would be like me taking your subreddit link and smarmily replying "well if the IQs in subsaharan Africa are higher than 70 and closer to 85... then it shows the gap must be mostly genetic since the IQ of Black Americans is 85 despite a much better environment."

It's dumb because it's not the point, your point is that the matter isnt as settled as they'd like to claim (and I'd agree but I think equality is pretty much ruied out). But Africans in Africa are always going to be difficult to get good data on, really the source talked about in that subreddit seems to be the only one well cited from my cursory searching. You yourself concede this issue, and are right to raise it but it's ancillary since they talk about African-American IQs almost exclusively when discussing black IQ and would see their argument bolstered if Africa-African IQs were higher.
