  31. Lilin are part of the bottom rung of demons. Always born as children of Mortals and other Lilin, they claim Ancestry to Lilith herself, though that may be a lie. In fact, some scholars suspect they may not actually *be* from Hell-Hell, but rather an "hell-like" realm in the Nevernever which simply uses hellish trappings. They still aim to claim souls, to use the power they present and as long as they are "freely given in trade", no one can stop them from doing so.
  32.
  33. Lilin are corruptors, deal makers, negotiators. They are born with an instinct to rise in power and status, a innate ambition as strong as a Unseelie Fae's. To that end they aim to make deals with humans in order to lay claim to them, both to bring their soul into peril to please their infernal relations and to gain leverage to their advantage in the temporal world.
  34.
  35. If a Fae will try to screw you over with the letter of the deal, a Lilin is the loan shark who makes a great offer but will never let you go once you make a deal. Even if the payoff only comes after death.
  36.
  37. In a lot of ways Lilin are the Changeling equivalent of demonic archetypes (among other types), starting out as Mortals. They need to find a full demon as sponsor/lord to further make entry into the ranks of hell. Most of the time this is their demonic sire.
  38.
  39. A Lilin still in its scion stage only has its full powers during the night, but in turn enjoys full humanity during the day. Full Lilin can only enter our world if summoned/invited and only at night. As such a Scion Lilin will still trigger a Soulgaze, but its not nice at all.
  40.
  41. Most Lilin who decide to follow their infernal blood will choose a new True Name known only to them and the demonic liege they swear to to signify their fealty to hell over humanity. The more they identify with that name than their human one, they closer they turn to true demonhood. Once they do that they descending and take their place in "Hell's" pecking order, where exactly depending in how successful they were as scions in amassing souls and influence.
  42.
  43. Despite what people assume, Lilin can be of all genders and may even be able to switch between them (Thought Scions have a Default Form). Though if they do that, stuff like coloration etc always stays the same. (ie a redhead stays a redhead, an asian stays an asian, etc)
  44.
  45. A Lilin can relinquish a deal made, freeing the claim on the soul, but that pisses off their lord a lot so its really hard to get them to do that.
  46.
  47. In a lot of ways, Lilin 'society' is very much focused on the mortal world, as the acquisition of Souls seems to be of great import for their Realm. Some scholars go so far as to describe it as "the Hedge Fond Management Company from Hell"
  48.
  49. Gameplay notes: if a PC Lilin ever exists new powers (As opposed to stunts) only come as Sponsored Magic by their demonic bosses.
