  1. Class: Safe

  3. Special Containment Procedures:
  4.
  5. SCP-####-A is to be kept inside a steel case that is secured by a keypad-based lock. The passcode must be changed on a monthly basis. Access to SCP-####-A requires prior written approval, as well as knowledge of the passcode. Only one individual may be exposed to the object's anomalous effects per access, and SCP-####-A may not be accessed more than once in a 48-hour period.
  6.
  7. Instances of SCP-####-B are to be catalogued, but otherwise allowed to continue their normal duties. Consulting an instance of SCP-####-B regarding the day's "horoscope" is strictly forbidden for any personnel below a clearance level of [REDACTED]. Any such horoscopes are to be immediately documented in both writing and audio recording form, and are to be reported.
  8.
  9. Description:
  10.
  11. SCP-####-A is a large star chart written on parchment, detailing an anomalous system of astrology. Despite its apparent age, the parchment resists wear and tear that would ordinarily destroy materials of a similar age and make.
  12.
  13. The chart's legend, as well as a few notes, is written in archaic English, with the handwriting being so poor as to be nearly illegible. This text is written in black ink that is indelible, but otherwise perfectly normal. Transcripts of the chart's text will not be made available to any personnel, as doing so would cause the object's anomalous properties to manifest.
  14.
  15. While the chart seems to be fairly normal at a glance, closer inspection reveals that it charts a collection of [REDACTED] stars that match no known astronomical record, as well as 13 constellations formed thereof. Each constellation is drawn in blood, with each one being marked in a different type of blood. Testing revealed that the types of blood included grey wolf, diamondback rattlesnake, brown bear, mountain goat, raven, common housecat, rabbit, rat, wild boar, horse, fox, deer, and an unidentifiable species. Paraphrased descriptions of the constellations are available to personnel with sufficient clearance.
  16.
  17. SCP-####-B designates any individual that has been exposed to SCP-####-A for at least one hour. Exposure is defined here as actively holding and studying the object. It has been discovered that any individual that is shown the star chart is fully capable of reading and understanding it, even if they have no knowledge of the subject or lack the ability to read and comprehend English. Subjects have also universally displayed perfect recall of the chart's text, capable of reciting any portion of the text on command. In the case of subjects who do not speak English, the recitation is correctly delivered in their native language.
  18.
  19. All instances of SCP-####-B show a noticeable boost to morale and mood, often going about their daily duties with a serene smile, no matter how poor their attitude prior to exposure was. SCP-####-B instances have also proven to remain much calmer under pressure than individuals who have not been exposed to SCP-####-A. However, anomalous individuals also demonstrate a propensity to daydream for 10-30 minutes at a time, and seem incapable of sleeping for more than 4 hours at a time. Despite this, they show no signs of sleep deprivation, and medical checks show no ill effects.
  20.
  21. SCP-####-B instances develop a keen interest in astrology, specifically astrology relating to the constellations described in SCP-####-A. They display states of mild euphoria when asked to discuss the subject, and will do so at great length. All instances show an identical level of knowledge in the field, regardless of exposure time or more general intelligence. In every instance of SCP-####-B, knowledge of non-anomalous astrology was found to be nonexistent, with individuals expressing confusion if asked about the traditional constellations such as Taurus or Orion. Individuals have been universally found incapable of perceiving any materials pertaining to non-anomalous astronomy or astrology, seeing only "a black space" where the information should be. This extends to the night sky itself, where individuals report seeing dark red stars that are universally described as "crimson islands in the cosmic sea". This phrase does not appear on SCP-####-A. No form of observational equipment has been able to view these "red stars".
  22.
  23. When asked about horoscopes, an instance of SCP-####-B will eagerly intone a usually-cryptic prediction relating to the currently prominent constellation in the anomalous zodiac described by SCP-####-A. Approximately [REDACTED] percent of all anomalous horoscopes have proven true in some manner, with the success rate increasing slightly if delivered by an individual born in the month associated with the currently-prominent anomalous constellation. Once a horoscope is delivered, all instances of SCP-####-B will deliver the exact same prediction when asked. The horoscope resets at exactly 7 AM CST every 24 hours, at which point a new prediction can be requested. If no horoscope is requested on a given day, the relevant prediction has a 0% chance of being accurate. Thus, it is possible to prevent any anomalies resulting from the horoscope by simply refusing to allow any exposed individual to deliver the prediction.
