It's great to meet you. I'm Nakatani Nio.
(This is both my first-ever serialization and my first-ever tankoubon)

And I'm a grebe.

The little grebe, or /nio/,
now more commonly known as the /kaitsuburi/, is known for its ability to stay underwater for extended periods of time fishing, and is the official bird of Shiba Prefecture.

I'm a native of Shiba Prefecture myself, and the grebe is nicknamed "The Bird That Takes Long Breaths."
I want to be a "long-breathed" mangaka myself, so to speak, dedicated and perseverant, so with that in mind I...

How It All Started

(So how did you end up writing a yuri manga?)

I've always written stories about relationships between female characters,
so some people around me thought I was drawing yuri.
There was never much of a romantic angle, but could it still be considered yuri?

I do love yuri, so I wouldn't mind taking a crack at a true love story...
Just when I was thinking this to myself...
