  1. Maravilla gangs, known as Barrio Maravilla, are some of, if not the oldest street gangs in East Los Santos. They formed in the 1930's in Unincorporates East Los Santos. These gangs are famous for refusing to be taxed or to share a portion of their criminal revenue with the Mexican Mafia, which led to them a "green light" going into effect. The gang nurtured a "tax free" culture for years.

  3. In 1994, a truce was agreed upon by all Maravilla gangs in East Los Santos. This truce lasted a year and a half, however Los Santos Police Department officials have attributed this peace to their common rivalry with the Mexican Mafia. For the duration of this feud, Maravilla gangs had their own module in LS County Jail, separate from the Sureno module.

  5. Following increased pressure from large Sureno gangs and an increased effort from la eMe, in the early and mid 00's most Maravilla gangs either gave in to the Mexican Mafia and began paying tax or ultimately died out. There are still a few Maravilla gangs that still refuse to pay tax but these gangs face enormous challenges, especially in the San Andreas prison system.

  9. Ford Maravilla was founded in mid 1980's by Ramon "Snowman" Galvan and Alex "Junior" Mora on the corner of 6th Street and Feltone Avenue. The two had relatives in El Hoyo Maravilla and Arizona Maravilla, respectively.
