- Jump #317: Luther Strode
- >Page of Pentacles: The surprising appearance of new prosperity and opportunities for advance in the physical world.
- >Age: 19
- >Location: Australia
- >Identity: Peacekeeper (-200)
- >Drawbacks: Jumper's Job (-100), Red Handed Faith (-200), Unbound and Unleashed (+300)
- Oh shit it's Samson. Everybody run. No, you aren't running fast enough.
- >Awareness (1200)
- Luther Strode's lesson is that you must always be aware of all things at all times. I am unwilling to spill innocent blood when it can be avoided.
- >Chaining Cain (600)
- Sometimes it's necessary to be capable of putting restraints on even a god.
- >Repose (Free, Peacekeeper)
- There's a lot of potential to go for a berserker fury. That is not a state I wish to be lost to.
- >Parley (500, Peacekeeper)
- I can also get through to those who ARE lost to a berserker fury, now, and that is a most helpful thing.
- >Serenity (300, Peacekeeper)
- We have gone from trying to achieve maximum fast to achieving maximum chill. I can work with this, however. The stealth bonus is nice too.
- >The Herculean Form (0)
- A delightful book that will be going straight to the warehouse for safekeeping. I'll be using this soon.
- I have to fight the urge to go full Flex Mentallo. But god damn it's tempting.
- No, the real issue here is that the only individual that ever gave Cain pause was Samson, so far as I could tell from what I studied, and he's no longer bound - my arrival somehow freed him. It helps nothing that he started targeting those around me. As usual, my companions were doing their own thing, but he found them. And started trying to kill them.
- (Key word trying, but that's beside the point.)
- Whether he was actually making sincere attempts on them or not, it ruffled a great many feathers and measures had to be taken to preserve the masquerade, as it were. After that point... well, he was taking his time, but eventually targeted me. He drew me out in Sydney, during a typhoon.
- We spoke at length. We fought at length. As it turned out, his name was not Samsen, he was much older than that, which surprised me. In the end... he pointed out that we were both as much forces of nature as the typhoon and the cyclones we were dodging in our battle. Potential to create and destroy, I told him. He told me he did not care for creation, he'd enjoyed it for thousands of years, and would be as happy to be the last man standing on a planet made of ash.
- It was about that point that Ceci burst from his chest, full-on Aliens chestburster style, shoved a grenade in his mouth, and danced away while his head exploded, completely and utterly derailing the fight.
- It made no sense to me either. She still refuses to tell me how the fuck she pulled that off, other than giggling, getting a far-away gaze and murmuring, "Kay-oss."
- For being as adorable as she is, she sure is creepy sometimes.
