- Rogal was born in 2044 A.D., Konstanz, Württemburg, not long until the Great War. He got his educated in a rapidly declining Universities of Applied Sciences, Bavaria, Germany. He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Degree Programme, and acquired a job with Donaustahl GmbH, one of the only profiting arms companies in Germany by 2065 A.D. After three years of service, he helped design the G-11E Assault Rifle's five-burst firing loading mechanism through physical testing, running the weapons through service runs and making sure they would pass on the assembly line. He mastered easily how to operate the highly complicated G-11E through this event. It mattered little though, as by 2070 A.D., the European Union had collapsed, and Germany was nationally scrambling for resources like anyone else.
- Hearing of a thriving arms industry in the Americas still, Rogal resigned his post with Donaustahl GmbH on a final agreement to escort a freighter bearing some of their last shipments to the United States. Along the way, a Soviet Fighter fired upon the freighter, causing it to sink in the Atlantic Ocean 35 miles from Bermuda. Rogal was the only survivor of it, looting the vessel of all the arms he could grab: a G-11E and a 9mm VEB Maschinenpistole with a bandolier of ammunition and a military uniform from one of the guards of the vessel. He took a lifeboat and made it to Bermuda after 4 days, where he told them the story of the freighter incident. It had been neglected by European nations as it was a suicide run to begin with, and as the Great War was getting underway, he was sitting on Bermuda in recovery. He clears out in 2075 A.D., and manages to get passage to America through a Bermudan passenger ship.
- He landed in Washington D.C., taking an apartment in northern D.C. and going to work in Capital Steelworks for the next few months, but when he accidentally tips a boiling pot over and burns down an annex of the foundry, he is fired. Rogal would travel from state to state from 2076 - 2077, getting jobs in American industrial centers, but widely being fired for one reason or another. Later on he became lost in the Oregon country, soon being picked up by a Caravan, he found work in the Deutsch-Oregon industrial company located in Arropo. He worked there up until 2068, when he heard of the Great War making Americans turn to Vaults, secret shelters to save themselves from near disaster. Rogal knew he would need to be in one of these Vaults, and resigned from Deutsch-Oregon in 2080, totalling his career service at 36 years old. He returned to Washington D.C. by 2081, and enlisted to participate in Vault 112's secure facility.
- It was a strange experience. When all 85 "patients" in Vault 112 were given virtual reality simulations, each one a different experience. In the event they died in them, they were revicated into a new experience. Each VR center was a cryogenic stasis pod that would preserve their corporeal bodies. The master of the project, a German scientist of Vault-Tec, was actually a friend of Rogal when he finally stepped into the chamber in 2081, and saw no more of the world beyond. For centuries, he was forced to relive the tales of World War Two specifically, a time he was not alive for, and had only briskly studied in. He was there when Hitler died. He was there on the Eastern Front. Invasion of France. Bombing of London. Then, in 2140, when the Masters turned themselves into Robo-Brains and began to corrupt the patient's minds, his was altered into a reality where he was forced to witness Hitler's success, and witness the turn of the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Europe itself to the Nazi Party. It twisted his mind, making him unable to tell if anyone was or wasn’t a loyalist to Hitler’s regime. In this reality, he joined a makeshift group of anti-Nazi revolutionists, and fought as a Resistance to the Nazis through his remaining time in Vault 112.
- In 2277, Vault 112 finally was opened by the Lone Wanderer, which triggered the Robo-Brains to respond to him. The two have a conversation regarding the fates of the 85 men in Vault 112, and it is agreed to let Rogal go free. He left Vault 112, and faced the Capital Wasteland for only so long as to get his bearings, his gear, and his name, before leaving for “The Pitt,” seeking a way back to Oregon, the one place he called home. Due to him having been in a working Vault the last 200 years, he does not have the same foggy idea about the other half of America like most of the others do. Thus his journey begins by heading off to the nearest civilized area around Boston proper. He is much more equipped at this point than he is today.
- After passing through the Boston Area in 2278, Rogal continues on his journey through the New England Wastes, defending himself against basic, mindless mutants, avoiding the Pitt region and reaching Chicago after a year’s journey. Here he encounters the Brotherhood of Steel in dire need of recruits, and agrees to co-operate with them, even joining their ranks for a time. Throughout 2279, he traversed the Midwest and Central American Plains under the BoS, combating mutants, raiders, and other hostile threats alongside them. Here is where he learned the feats of Power Armor, heavy weaponry, and even functional vehicles. He gained the skills to operate these, although possessed none on his person. When he was discharged on his request near the Super-Mutant city-state of Carbon, he continued on in his quest for Oregon.
- He finally found peaceful civilization in New Canaan, Utah, where he traded some of his military goods for adequate food and water supplies. He organized an agreement to escort a Caravan to New Vegas during late 2280, early 2281, where he has finally arrived at New Vegas. Once the Caravan was delivered to the Crimson Caravan Company, he said his farewells and began to wander the wasteland once more, seeking to make his way to Oregon.
