- I am creating a discord server explicitly for the purpose of matchmaking players who are willing to play long sets. This is focused on online play in North America. The primary play format of the server is First-To-10 sets.
- -----------------------------------------------------
- This server has two main goals:
- 1) Create a high-quality matchmaking pool for all players that have aspirations of winning tournaments and breaking current plateaus.
- 2) Organize current tournament-level competitors and winners in an attempt to centralize and focus our practice, as well as perform better in international tournaments, especially offline tournaments.
- I want this to be the place you go when you want to play against someone strong, but you don't feel like randomly searching through ranked and rooms.
- This is NOT a casual playgroup, NOR is it a vehicle for grudge matches or money matches.
- This is a place for consistent, quality practice for its own sake.
- -----------------------------------------------------
- If some of the following criteria apply to you, please join.
- - You live in North America, in Mexico or further north. (All USA, Mexico, Canada, and Caribbean welcome)
- - You watch those long sets on youtube that Xiaohai and ET have and think "That looks like great practice! Why don't WE do that too?"
- - You are not a tournament-level player, but you aspire to be one.
- - You're a mid-level player who has learned the fundamentals, but you routinely lose to high-level, notable players.
- - You're a high-level player capable of winning a local or top 16'ing a major, but the more non-local representation is at an event, the less likely you are to win the whole thing.
- - You're a frequent tournament finalist or winner and we wish to train with you.
- - Some might say that you are "good", but you understand that the absolute best players are clearly stronger than you.
- - You understand that spamming armor grabs with Clark demolishes players that haven't built up certain skills yet. You acknowledge and accept that some characters have "cheap" things, but that if your opponent is susceptible to them, you absolutely should use them to win.
- - You do not belittle others for picking strong characters.
- - You recognize the value of losses.
- - You are here because you want consistent practice with strong players so you can eventually win.
- ------------------------------------------------------
- Note on Skill Level:
- This server has an explicit focus on long-set practice for the benefit of current tournament-level players, and those who aspire to that level. If you are not currently at that level, but want to try and reach it, please join. We can all organize and get stronger as a community, so I don't believe it's right to merely "exclude anyone who isn't good".
- However.
- The server has no casual/lounge/art/music/etc channels. There is ABSOLUTELY no "salt" channel. It is not a place to hangout or vent. It is a dojo of sorts, lean and focused. I ask that if you are not asking for a match or not discussing matches/tech and other ways of improving, that you do not post at all. There are many, MANY other discords that would be better suited to just hanging out and chatting about fighting games. If you'd like a more laid-back atmosphere to chat about KOF XV, I strongly recommend these two servers:
- ------------------------------------------------------
- This idea may not work out. But if any of this applies to YOU, and you believe in this idea, then please join. If you know anyone that wants to improve in KOFXV in North America, please share this with them. As a unit, and with our shared passion, we can be more.

- A final note for those of you NOT in North America:
- I'm sorry you won't be able to participate in this. But I implore you. Steal the idea. Do it. I won't stop you. Get together as many like-minded players as possible and get them into a place (discord server or otherwise) where you are all in agreement that long-set practice is worth it.
