  1. [05:33] Adalyn Endore says, "You bet."
  2. [05:34] Yvel Endore says, "Speaking of Lightnign magic...I've been trying to find a way I can take mine to the next level but...Its difficult to figure out what that next level is you know? Maybe I'm getting to complacent in where I am or something..."
  3. [05:34] Adalyn Endore says, "What would the next level be in lightning? Perhaps I can help."
  4. [05:35] Yvel Endore says, "Hmm maybe something flashy like controllng the weather? I've heard of magi who were capable of that and Father could make the sky turn black like it was going to thunder
  5. [05:41] Yvel smiled and wondered about that his magic had been progressing slowly but there was always something higher he could accomplish after all. "I'm progressing as best as I can, I've hit a wall though so I'm reevaluating how best to use my magics for combat and while I'm supporting."
  6.
  7. Although Yvel had acknowledge his skills weren't really great as a front line combatant he was more so a medic or a supporters role which he felt was what he was best suited for. "I'm more of a support role during combat scenarios so despite my skills one on one are a bit lacking I can create barriers, and heal during and after combat! Or at the very least that's the goal I'm working towards. Now that I know what my skills are best geared towards I've just been working on improving them. Piece by Piece."
  8.
  9. He'd give Addy a small smile wondering what she thought about all of it, It was true Yvel was strong and perhaps even a genius for his age to have mastered holy magic but he was no Vanguard of the army slinging spells reducing his foes to ash...Perhaps that was a role better suited for someone else.
  10.
  11. "And how about you? If I remember correctly you're a user of Explosion magic just like Addy right?" he asked curiously.
  12. (Yvel Endore)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [05:42] Adalyn Endore says, "I've yet to master explosion magic."
  16. [05:42] Adalyn thought back to her father. The Endore magi who was infamous for manipulating the weather at will. His magic was terrifying to witness. Little Adalyn would shudder at his presence and would often break out in tears when he made the skies roar. Yvel was looking to further his mastery in lightning and the next step was manipulating not fire, not water, not air or lightning, it was the atmosphere itself.
  17.
  18. "Magic of that level requires an intense amount of magical power which I don't doubt you lack, Yvel, but it also requires knowledge to be able to manipulate something as grand as the sky. What exactly do you wish to achieve with your magic? I hope my knowledge of alchemy and geography will prove to be of assistance."
  19. She sat on the bench, curious about Yvel's magical pursuits and Actaeon's training.
  20.
  21.
  22. (Adalyn Endore)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24. [05:57] Yvel nodded along agreeing with what Acteon was saying to Adalyn that being their expertise he didn't really comment much about it. But he did respond to the fact that Actaeon was in a squad. "I heard he had formed a squad good for him, and you as well a I'm sure you'll be a good fit among their ranks."
  25.
  26. Yvel thought about it what Adalyn was saying and perhaps it was true controlling the sky would reach deep into Yvel's reserves of mana and he wondered how much of it he could muster. Her brain was meant for science so there would be no better way to study and ask than her or Theo. "Well...I suppose I want to be able to turn the tides of battle by summoning a storm that could increase pressure on my opponent. I'm sure dad was capable of doing something similar although I've never seen him do it as an actual attack spell."
  27.
  28. Yvel looked up pondering for a moment before thinking more onto it..."Perhaps...What If I transfiguration my mana into a cloud? I probably wouldn't be able to summon or control the entire sky but I could start with that and perhaps do something so it affects the other clouds in the sky?" It would be a bit of a work around but the frame work of the idea was there of course the application and the execution of it all was lacking.
  29. (Yvel Endore)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31. [06:08] Adalyn nodded to Actaeon as he asked her if she needed some help, as the concept of overheating caught her ears. However, there was a pressing problem at hand which she needed to address. Yvel's weather manipulation.
  32.
  33. "One moment, Actaeon, we must discuss this in private later. I want to try something."
  34.
  35. She waved to her white haired cousin as she sat on the bench with a focused face.
  36.
  37. A storm. Adalyn could roughly visualize and understand what Yvel meant. She sat on the bench with her gaze shifting occasionally to the clouds above and her hand which held a small fireball. The air around the ball was distorted because of the heat and the warmth was creating a small current which flowed with the wind. She sat there quietly, alternating between watching the flame and the clouds. It was as if she was contemplating the effects of this process.. on a larger scale.
  38.
  39. "I've seen dad summon a violent thunderstorm which left him jaded for hours. It didn't attack anything, it behaved as a regular storm, but there was one key difference. The air pressure around him was immensely high, meaning he could increase the size of the storm and its destructive power too."
  40.
  41. Adalyn stood up and walked to an empty space in order to move away from the icy atmosphere her cousin caused. She needed a warmer place for channelling her mana. After reaching a considerable distance, she blanketed herself in flames as the air around her appeared to distort even more as her whole image seemed to be shimmering like a mirage.
  42.
  43. The temperature around the girl was rising to the hundreds, and even higher as she held out her hands in the shape of a sphere and conjured a massive fireball between it. She yelled at Yvel from a distance, imploring him to look.
  44.
  45. "Yvel! If I'm right, the heat generated by this fireball should create a vertical air current strong enough to turn the clouds right over my head into a storm cloud if I send it up. If these clouds contain lightning within them, the lightning could be focused into a dense packet of energy that can be manipulated by a lightning magi. I read it in alchemy, its called a Cumuloniumbus cloud. A thundercloud. Let me try it first."
  46.
  47. She hurled a massive fireball at the sky which penetrated a cloud, causing it to taper and assume a cylindrical shape. Adalyn was right. Now, if it contained lightning, Yvel could harness the power of a storm and manipulate it at will. However, this was a tiring thing to do, she was certain of it.
  48. (Adalyn Endore)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50. [06:21] "Sure what's your question Nicky?" He'd say with a smile before turning to Actaeon. "Be safe! May the stars guide you. And I'll be looking forward to hearing about your exploits in your squad!" He'd say giving him a thumbs up.
  51.
  52. Yvel listened to Adalyn's theories they sounded about right if the atmosphere was heated enough and if there were thunder clouds Yvel could push them together and sense the lightning within them. Even still to reach so far above himself with lightning was a feat and a half for him, But if he could then...
  53.
  54. "Very well then lets see what we could do!" Yvel stayed silent for a moment lightning mana gathering around him as he browsed through the clouds sensing which one was the most positively charged and which one would be able to carry a current the strongest.
  55.
  56. "That one there!" He'd point to it, The air began to vibrate and rumble as the heated part began to roll over, The cloud contained the most water and the most moisture...it was something Yvel would have to learn to manipulate himself and he had a few people he could interview about that very topic.
  57.
  58. He'd being to channel lightning between his fingers and then suddenly a bolt appeared between his hands before long it was shaped into a bow, Yvel's weapon of choice when using his lightning creation skills.
  59.
  60. The Lightning bow was pulled back an arrow taking form as Yvel pointed it towards the cloud he felt would be most likely to cause a lightning strike he'd have to be prepared and ready to control such powerful natural lightning."Welp now or never!" He said as he let loose the arrow as it flew through the air with great speed and force.
  61.
  62. piercing the cloud causing it to puncture a hole dead center. Yvel's mana had been injected into the cloud and now he could more deeply its structure, Making lightning rain down in the middle of a farming town wasn't a great idea so instead Yvel only studied the internal structure of the cloud before aiming to recreate it with his own mana.
  63.
  64. "Zeitan, How do you control moisture particles in the air? I feel like that has something to do with it as well..." Yvel asked as he continued to focus.
  65. (Yvel Endore)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [06:30] He'd take his time, thinking about his cousins question and how he might be able to contribute to his training. He'd think silently on the way he learned to manipulate the temperature, using his control over moisture to separate the heat from the cold.
  69.
  70. "Well.. You'd have to learn to separate the heat from the air or combine both hot and cold wind.. Using wind magic you could essentially create a powerful friction like you do with lightning.. You'd just have to find a way to harness and make use of the water particles in the air, after all that's how clouds are made.."
  71. (Zeitan Endore)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73. [06:42]Make use of water, Cool air and warm air, Yvel was getting a lot of information but all if it was super helpful and interesting he continued to do as he was told while he could not directly influence hot and cold air being able to control wind currents easily he was cable of projecting them.
  74.
  75. "Its not necessarily like wind pressure but instead more like wind and water sticking together...If I use my mana as an accelerant I should be able to recreate the process of forming a cloud...It'll just take practice!" Yvel exclaimed with conviction he'd take his journal out and right out a couple of steps he'd need to prepare.
  76.
  77. Yvel places his hands outwards first generating a gust of cold air, Using his mana to search the area for droplets of water, which in a moisture and farming place like Messaris was easily enough to come by. Next he'd focus in his right hand on creating a heat source from his mana.
  78.
  79. The rising air effect would be catalyzed with his air magic taking the shape he needed he'd then cup his hands and aim to press all that he had be creating together until...A puff of vapors spewed from his hands...Making the area misty for just a moment.
  80.
  81. "Hmm it'll be hard to contain a cloud perhaps...I could form a miniature barrier around it with my Holy magic to contain the cloud...and inject the air from both sides?" Yvel was thinking of multiple ideas on how he could make this work, Asking openly for his cousins opinions on his thought processes.
  82. (Yvel Endore)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [06:49] Zeitan chuckles, perhaps Yvel was thinking about it a little too hard. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts in a way he could actually put to words.
  86.
  87. "You'd want to essentially heat the air somehow causing the moisture itself to rise and form a cloud.. I'd recommend studying a water tome for some minor basics." He pauses, pointing at the fountain as an example as he released his focus upon it and the cold itself seemed to retreat back to him.
  88.
  89. "See, if you can create AND then manipulate a cloud using a variation of your technique for creating lightning. You'd definitely be getting somewhere."
  90. (Zeitan Endore)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [06:50] Adalyn Endore says, "Theo's water magic could help/"
  94. [06:50] Yvel Endore says, "Mhh...Yeah I think I understand it a bit more..."
  95. [06:50] Zeitan Endore says, "This is true, I could try and create a cloud as well though it would be much more complex."
  96. [06:51] Yvel Endore exclaims, "I could use my lightning to heat up the waters surface!"
  97. [06:51] Zeitan Endore says, "And I wouldn't want to risk damaging the crops."
  98. [06:51] Zeitan Endore says, "Yeah! Think of like.. A really hot day and how the heat itself forces water into the sky."
  99. [06:51] Zeitan Endore says, "When a cloud gets too heavy.. Boom."
  100.
  101. [07:16] Yvel would place his hands into the Fountain, Lightning slowly began to pulsate into the water surface slowly measured. It couldn't be too much but Yvel would wait a while and then eventually the steam would rise up as the water began to boil.
  102.
  103. Steam began to rise and Yvel would then use his air magic to collect it, His mana to condense it and then slowly stick the water vapors together until they formed a cloud that glowed an ethereal blue color signifying his mana had been used to create..Yvel looked at it for a moment a cloud that was made from nothing more than his mana.
  104.
  105. While it was small enough to fit in the palm of his hand it was something he produced after about an hour of theorizing and practicing he had felt a bit exhausted from all the mental gymnastics but there was still further that he could take this!
  106.
  107. Yvel followed what Zeitan said almost like making lightning but in a different way and now that he had produced the clouds he would manipulate the mana in his clouds to generate sparks of lightning...It was as if he had started back at square one!
  108.
  109. The mana clouds were dense and filled with various things it would be difficult to merely convert the mana into lighting so Yvel would have to think of another creative way he could transfer his lightning within it...
  110.
  111. "I feel like I'm getting closer to the money here. I just have to find a way to transform the mana within the mana cloud into into lightning mana. Its like I'm back training all over again sheesh." Yvel exclaimed he remembered a year ago and never imagined he'd be here again aiming this time to create his own special technique.
  112. (Yvel Endore)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [07:17] Zeitan Endore says, "Yknow, you might be able to find some insight in that spell you use to yknow.. Literrally become lightning."
  116. [07:18] Yvel Endore says, "A-...Thats actually genious! "
  117. [07:20] Zeitan responds with a well aimed finger gun motion, a trail of mist bursting from the tip of his fingers for extra effect. He'd grin, leaning further back into his seat.
  118. (Zeitan Endore)
  119. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  120.
  121. [07:22] Adalyn felt her nose itch due to the icy mist in the air. Fire mages were extremely sensitive to ice.
  122.
  123. "Ac-achoo!! Ow. Sorry, carry on."
  124.
  125. She wiped her nose and controlled her sniffles.
  126. (Adalyn Endore)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128. [07:39] Yvel thought about applying the spell Zeitan was talking about, His full body lightning magic would be the perfect way to convert it...All it would take was some extra trying! Yvel held the miniature cloud within his hands and then slowly began invoking the spell he was thinking of.
  129.
  130. and as he did miniature sparks began generating within the small puffy cloud and before long those clouds turned a deep and dark black it was appearent Yvel had done it! He'd created a cloud purely from his mana and influenced it to change into a thundercloud.
  131.
  132. "It took a while but...I think I've finally gotten the process down...
  133. First I gather moisture in the air, Second I use my lightning magic to heat that moisture until it boils, Third I gather the steam and use my mana to compact it into a cloud clumps and then Fourth, I convert my mana into lightning from within the cloud." Yvel looked at his creation the slight rumblings of a small cloud could make were like a mini storm in the palm of his hand.
  134.
  135. Yvel kept it locked inside a sphere shaped barrier knowing if it were to be released it would float into the atmosphere and probably start shooting down bolts of lightning which wouldn't be safe..."I just need to do a bit more field testing and tweaking to make the process something I can replicate...But I think before long I'll have my very own signature skill!" Yvel proclaimed excited.
  136.
  137. "I have you both to thank for it could've never gotten this far without your advice. Thank you both so much!" he said with a bright smile before walking back over to the bench.
  138. (Yvel Endore)
