OoT Chicken/Cucco% Draft_1

Cucco% or Chicken% Route Category Extension for Ocarina of Time.

This route currently is fastest for N64 but is possible on all versions of OoT, the main differences being the methods used for escaping the forest and how to obtain bombchu's early in Bottom of the Well (BOTW) with the differences in routes being roughly a minute.

Route goals:
Obtain all chicken related rewards and items and die to chicken swarm.

Timing starts: On a fresh race file starting in Link's house after the intro cutscene but before talking to Saria.
Timing ends: On the first frame of the death cutscene triggered by taking damage from a Cucco.

Restrictions:
Required items must be in Link's inventory before dying.
No RBA, BA or GIM.

Base Routing: Nintendo 64

1. Obtain 60 Rupees for 2 sticks and a Deku Shield from the shop.
2. Leave Kokiri Forest via Lost Woods using Aqua Escape or Navi Dive.
3. Travel down Zora's River, Use a stick to WESS from River to Kakariko Village. (1 Stick left)
4. Collect all chickens and obtain the bottle from the Cucco Lady. (Anju) (OBJECTIVE 1 COMPLETE)
5. Navi Dive or Cucco Dive down to Bottom of the Well.
6. Obtain Bombchu's using Blank A Setup in BOTW. (10 Chu's total)
7. Leave Kakariko, Owl skip and travel to Castle Market at Night.
8. Obtain the Pocket Egg from Malon in Hyrule Castle.
9. Awaken Talon using Pocket Chicken. Leave Hyrule Castle and Market. (toss out by guards)
10. Travel to Lon Lon Ranch (either Backwalking or Chu HESS)9 Chu Count.
11. Collect the milk bottle from Talon by playing the super cucco mini game. (OBJECTIVE 2 COMPLETE)
12. Leave Lon Lon Ranch and head to Gerudo Valley. (Either backwalk or Chu HESS again)8 Chu Count
13. Get to Gerudo Fortress early by jumping over the gate. (Chicken Jump, Hovers or Glitchless Jump would work for this, but chicken jump would be the most preferred way of performing the trick)
14. Obtain the Odd Mushroom in the chest on top of the Fortress as Child. At least 1 Chu is needed for Mega Backflipping the gap between the top platform and the chest platform and possibly one Chu to skip the guards (See 'Video Resources above for movement idea)
15. Savewarp after obtaining the odd mushroom from the chest to obtain Cojiro in your inventory. (OBJECTIVE 3 COMPLETE)
16. Leave Kokiri Forest again via Lost Woods using Aqua Escape/Navi Dive again.
17. Die to the chicken swarm by attacking the chicken in Zora's River near the Bean Guy. (RUN FINISHED)


VC Routing

1. Obtain the sword and 40 rupees for Deku Shield from the shop.
2. Escape the forest using Pokey Escape method and obtain the Ocarina
3. Travel to Kakariko Village.
4. Collect all chickens and obtain the bottle from the Cucco Lady. (Anju) (OBJECTIVE 1 COMPLETE)
5. Navi Dive or Cucco Dive down to Bottom of the Well.
6. Obtain bombchu's in BOTW using the Ocarina Dive setup

RUN ENDING MISTAKES:
Prematurely breaking both sticks.
Running out of bombchu's.
Getting caught by guards in Gerudo Fortress interior or at Gerudo Gate (Believe they toss you out at the waterfall, losing a lot of time)


IDEAS FOR EXTRA TIME SAVE (Needs testing)
- Buying 1 stick and walking to Kak in n64 route instead of buying 2 sticks and WESSing (Saves time on rupee collection?)
- HESSing thru to Gerudo's Fortress
- Pathing to Odd Mushroom chest (Brainstorm Ideas)
- Collecting Deku Shield in BOTW instead of buying it from store.
