Its Just Business wip

The room was dim, faint wisps of cigar smoke trailed lazily in the air among the various mechanical spider like apparatus that hung motionless above the work desk at which two individuals sat opposite one another.

"Mr Theseus, Is this really safe?" the man asked nervously of the skeletal figure seated opposite him.

"No" their voice rasped slowly. Mr Theseus rose slowly from his chair his skeletal frame seemed to loom over his latest applicant as his unblinking eyes gave a soft glow to his features but this did nothing to appease the growing unease in the man seated before him. "But what business venture of any worth, is?" the voice had a hint of a smile.

"Mr" Theseus paused as his eyes quickly shifted to the paperwork he had on his desk "Henry, Sherman?" The man nodded as Mr Theseus one more locked eyes and continued "you did not make your way into my office because you are concerned of danger." He straightened to his full height "No, you are here because you have a dream, a dream of being someone important someone with, power." Mr Theseus rapped his metal knuckles on the desk for emphasis " Well today, today is your lucky day Mr Sherman because power, is what I have to offer"

Mr Sherman could not help but flinch as the wall behind Mr Theseus splits open as panels in the walls open and shift as a series of Screens are revealed along with a centre piece, a singular large glass tube, larger than a man containing  a hunched over Exoskeleton of metal plates, tubes, wires and bundles of metallic muscle fibres submerged in a softly bubbling blue liquid who's light permeates the smoky haze of the room.

"This is the latest upgrade in the H3R4C Labor series 4, The new spinal support mounts and ceramic platting allow a higher level of protection while the change in muscle fibre density has proved an overall increase of the users body strength of over 120%, not to mention the new duality drive brain installed has greatly reduced ligament damage in test subjects by 40%.  The lab rats in the think tanks like to call this one, The Boar." Theseus snapped his fingers as the Screens began to show various demonstration of the exoskeletons impressive strength and durability in action.

"Originally designed for search and rescue in the wake of endbringer disaster area's" Theseus Scoffs as he continues "how ever due to this models track record and the laziness of monsters, it has since been" Mr Theseus waves his hand in the air as if to clear the smoke  "Repurposed, this Mr Sherman is the latest in military grade hardware, not the kit bashed toys of your local tinker hobby enthusiast sells. Why with this, Mr Sherman, I would surmise that even the meekest of mortal could take on a god."

Henry Sherman with a look of disbelief shakes his head "Something like this has got to cost an arm and a leg-" he was interrupted as Mr Theseus dropped a multipage document onto the desk with a heavy thud "Yes, but luckily the Boar provides you with far superior replacements, and all of this can be yours if you simply sign on the dotted line."

Henry felt as though Mr Theseus was far to close for comfort now he was stood next to him, but the chair gave no room for escape from those eye's so as almost as if to seek a respite from those glowing sunken pits the tinkerer called eyes, he quickly looked towards the pen and paperwork in front of him, even with a cursory glance he could see it was page after page of legal nonsense, his eyes catching only the occasional word like Waiver, nondisclosure or libel.

Henry felt like he was sinking in deep water but didn't care to show his unease "So what are the strings on this deal, With the price your asking the model either doesn't work or has some serious defect, I was never one for heavy reading otherwise I would be in a different line of work. But even I can tell when a deal is too good to be true" Henry grunted at the Skeleton of a man.

Mr Theseus remains motionless as if assessing the thing before him before answering "The product lacks real world testing data, so the price is greatly reduced and besides try not think of this as a once off transaction and more as an, investment. You get an upgrade, I get the data on the augments performance and If its performance is even half of what the lab has projected. Well, then I am sure that I will found a new regular customer"

Mr Theseus slowly stepped back around the table "And besides, even if its ownership of such a device isn't technically covered by the third amendment, one can always argue that the Augment is a full body prosthesis so what you use it for is none of my concern or interest. I do not care if you are a petty thief wanting to live a power fantasy or a mall cop out for revenge." the smirk in his voice was clear to hear

"After all Mr Sherman, Its just business".

Henry Sherman looks up again at the augmentation as it hangs illumined behind the tinkerer, its form looked powerful, and with this perhaps he could finally show the world what he was capable of.

Mr Theseus's unmoving skeletal features seem to almost take on a malicious smile, as against his better judgment. Mr Sherman picked up the pen.
