When their eyes met a spark went off, not electrical, not physical, but mental. It seemed as if time had stretched, their eyes locked on each other for a brief moment. The air-conditioned party centre became intensely heated for the two of them. The boy was pulled back to time by a toddler who was tugging at his feet. He looked back up to see the girl awkwardly making her way to the tables.

The girl was having a splendid day. She got to wear her astonishingly beautiful dress spotted with shiny gems. She received an offer at the hair salon which ended in her getting her hair done for free. Her friend gifted her the perfect heels to wear with her dress. The most handsome boy in her class had sent her a message to meet with him at the party, which got her exhilarated. Everyone at the party stared at her in awe, she was undoubtedly the most prettiest girl at the party that night. Could the day get any better?

The boy was having a rather rough day. His younger sibling had poured a cup of tea as hot as lava on him to wake him up, which left a burn mark on his chest. Despite the excruciating pain, his parents urged him to attend the school party. He opened his closet to find moths and cobwebs. The only shirt in his belonging was faded and had a torn pocket. He waited two hours under the burning sun to get his pocket patched up. Before the party, he wore socks through which couple of his toes peeked out and a shoe which had a sole attached by a couple of strings. At the party someone dropped some pudding on the back of his shirt, he went to wash it off. Could the day get any worse?

When he went to the tables, he saw the pretty girl sitting, neatly in her chair around an empty table. Every time the boy looked at her, his hands started to shake, his body started to sweat. How could he express his secret passion towards her? After pondering on what to say for a long time he grabbed the seat beside the girl. He started small talk with the girl but he became lost on words every time he stared at the girl. He was feeling a feeling he had never felt before. The girl was talking in the sweetest voice, the boy was shaking and the words escaped his lips like bullets. When the boy and the girl started to feel a connection between themselves, the most good-looking, rich, intelligent boy came and the girl fled to his side like a magnet. The boy was shocked, broken, and the connection that he felt remained in his heart all his life.
