The Eyes

She sat at her house with her eye locked on her reflection in the mirror, trying to slowly remove the bandages from around of her right eye, with 3 months past the surgery it was time to remove them for good and allow her to get used to looking through her new eye. With last pice removed and dressing underneath gone, she slowly opened her eyelid with a smile as despite the irritation the eye appeared to be moving and perceiving everything.

Though obviously vision being blured out due to remaining in dark for so often, leaving the need for her eye to narrow as she allowed it to get used to the light, ignoring the pain and simply taking her time for her vision to slowly return to normal, glad to view the world in normal way once more. Now with two cursed eyes, prepared to begin her experiments over them and note their full potential.

Kazuma had been on a training mission to the Sarab Desert, by himself, for almost two weeks. He hadn't been able to speak with his combat trainer, Kai for quite some time. So he decided to take it upon himself to stay on top of his training until he saw him again. He had fought so many bandits and Stinnox he could still smell the body odor and taste the stinnox venom, even though he had already bathed.

As he made his way back into the city, his head began to swim so he picked up some bread and stuff from the market to eat. He was growing again, he could feel it in joints already. It was just another pain that he had become used to.

After he finished eating in the city's garden, he returned to the nothern district where the houses were. He saw his own home, where he had hoped he would also encounter his mama. He realized he hadn't informed her that he was going to be going on the prior trip, so he may have made her worry. He smiled at the thought of someone even thinking about him. Even though it had already been a year since his adoption, everything was still so fresh to him.

As he entered the house, his eyes scanned around the room, finally landing on Sophia. Her head was wrapped in bandages, he figured they had something to do with the new eye she had attained. As she removed the bandages, he saw in the mirror before her, the new eye was still adjusting to the light. "Hey mama, I'm home. I see you're adjusting rather well to your new addition.", He said as he set down his bag and weapons. The weight being dropped off his shoulders was extremely relieving.

"How does it feel? Do you feel different?"

Her sons arrival forced her to turn her attention towards him with a faint smile appearing on her face, just as she responded towards him with clearly excited tone.  "Hello Kazuma, I am starting to adjust with it finally able to use it without worry, three months but now it doesn't appear to be sore anymore...I need to make few tests including field one to see if it will work without any complications." she responded with clearly excited tone.

Kazuma clapped in excitement for his mother, she seemed satisfied with the results so far. He had seen how much trouble she went through to attain this eye, and what she had to go through to get it put in. So he too, was happy this job was complete now. However what he looked forward to most was the field testing. He always enjoyed watching and participating in experiments for the purpose of learning all he could. He was rather envious of her eyes, though. He often wished he had something special about him as well. As he was not from any family with kind of special ability..well as far as he knew anyway.

He honestly didn't know much about his birth parents, to be honest. But, that was another adventure, for another time. Right now, things were focused on the eyes of his mother. He wondered what they would both be capable of together. "I see, well that means we should be having some fun soon! I love experiments and testing.", Kazuma proclaimed, reciprocating his mother's excitement.

Maybe along the way, he would discover something special about himself.

With her sons response she chuckled loudly and narrowed her eyes, her expression remaining the same despite the slight change in her chuckle, which felt bit colder than usually. She approached Kazuma and pulled him into a hug before deciding to finally respond to him with vibre of excitement in her voice.

 "I am excited about it myself Kazuma, I can finally do what my Great Grandmother never did and discover the fullsest potential of my famiyl's ability. " she chuckles afterwards with both of her eyes starting to glow on their own.

Kazuma being pulled into his mother's embrace was a normal thing for him now. Though, he still loved it, as it gave him comfort when he needed it. She motivated him to become greater than he was, no matter the cost. As he was hugged to her chest, he felt something more growing deep within her. The depravity that she already contained, was growing stronger and stronger. He was headed down this road himself, so detecting such a thing was becoming easier for him.

He felt as though this was the reason her power seemed to be growing so quickly. Though he knew the powers of depravity came at a steep price for most, as he read in a book. He didn't fear much of anything, so diving into the depths of darkness didn't seem to bother him. He desired power, to protect all the things he cared for, even if it meant corrupting himself in the process.

"I myself, wonder just what you are able to do now.", Kazuma said as stared up to his mother's eyes. They glowed as though they were constantly oozing power. The envy in him grew once more. He would become this great one day..

If there was something Vindictus and others were right about then it was the fact of eyes having ability to corrupt their owner, with Sophia being the first of Ryozo's to experience the powers and drawbacks of both eyes working for one user, with their dark, corrupted existance spreading across the body, mutating and affecting their users mind.

Three months didn't do much yet as time was to go on the changes would become more noticable, but what changes, that was a true question.

She looked towards her son and tapped her chin before smiling and shrugging lightly. "Most likely more advanced mana sight, but who knows, won't know until I test them. Thats why I need a field test." she said calmly, hoping that having both eyes would help her with her aim towards perfection, even if only a little.
