A group of bank robbers find their multi-million dollar plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective.
A seasoned team of bank robbers, including Gordon Jennings (Idris Elba), John Rahway (Paul Walker), A.J. (Hayden Christensen), and brothers Jake (Michael Ealy) and Jesse (Chris Brown) Attica successfully complete their latest heist and lead a life of luxury while planning their next job. When Ghost (Tip T.I. Harris), a former member of their team, is released from prison he convinces the group to strike an armored car carrying $20 million. As the "takers" carefully plot their strategy and draw nearer to exacting the grand heist, a reckless police officer (Matt Dillon) inches closer to apprehending the criminals.
To many clichés to count, predictable right down to the last line of the film and the only redeeming quality this movie has is that everyone dies in the end! if you read that and no longer want to see it then you should thank me for saving you from waisting 90 minutes of your life. Honestly I have never seen a more predictable film or seen anybody act as badly as Hayden Christianson, why is he still getting paid to stand in front of a camera? Its also funny how in prison when you where your pants below your butt it means that your willing to pleasure your fellow inmates and when TI gets out his pants are almost around his ankles. Please save yourself the pain and don't watch this stupid excuse for a film. PLEASE!!!!!!!
I wanted to watch this movie and was looking forward to it. Knew the cast wasn't a top dollar cast, but figured it could be a good ensemble and I love watching movies about bank heists. Someone compared this to "The Town", and I think calling this the poor man's version of "The Town" might be a good comparison, if not making the movie still appear better then it was. There is some good action, but everything else falls pretty short. There was very little character development, and you probably find more about secondary characters then you do primary characters, and that still isn't much. It's as if you just get bits and pieces, of what probably could've been a really good story. In regards to the plot line, you see everything coming. Not sure if that may have had something to do with the bad acting (sorry T.I.), or that it was just so transparent because of everything the movie was lacking. If you have time to kill and there's nothing else to watch, then sure, but after seeing it once I'm not sure I'd watch it again even scrolling through the channels with nothing else on, which makes me sad because I like most of the actors and wanted to like it so much.
Did I mention the dialogue? Well, really the armored car driver put it best when he said, "We're in trouble here…" No joke.
