5. Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) is the term used in the United States Armed Forces and some other military forces for a qualified service member who directs the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support and other offensive air operations from a forward position. The term that is used in most other countries, as well as previously in the US and in the relevant NATO standard is Forward Air Controller.

9.
10. Your starting rank is A1C (Airman First Class), an equivalant of the entry rank PFC, and work you way up just like in the infantry in regards to the Promotion system.

12. What can I expect in and during my TACP Course?
13. In the beginning of your career as a Junior TACP/JTAC you`ll mostly be listening and learning from the Senior TACP on how things work in the field, confirming air check-ins, checking for suitable LZs and advising the platoon commander on air tasks.
14.
15. Once you're experienced enough on all protocols and the basic way of all things air you will start to call in LZs (Landing Zones) and relaying messages to the Senior JTAC officials such as the need for (E)CAS ((Emergency)Close Air Support) and other advanced air taskings.
16.
17. Course Details
18. If you are chosen to become a Junior TACP, you will need to follow some training with the 82nd Aviation Regiment and the Senior JTAC.

22. Deciding/calling in LZs
23. Directly Controlling & Commanding ground AND air asset in certain situations
24. Calling in MEDEVACS .
25.
26. We will teach you the right protocols and a quick TFAR introduction however it is important that you show dedication and motivation which includes investing extra time to learn the basics of this advanced in-game role.
27.
28. Note before applying:
29. This role is a role similiar to a Platoon HQ role which means that you will (mostly) NOT be participating in direct actions very much, if any. You`ll mostly be doing communication tasks during the missions and supporting tasks together with the Platoon HQ members.
30. Be prepared to go whole missions behind friendly lines or perhaps even at a CCP/HQ position. Fair to say it is important you take this role serious as alot of people depend on your decisions.
