  1. [01:25] As soon as he agreed, her feet took her to the cabinet, pulling out one of the pre filled syringes. Pulling off the cap as she returned to the side. Having reached out to put the sword to the side of the bed, she'd freeze as he wrist was grabbed. Worried eyes glanced at him long enough to know that it wasn't going anywhere any time soon.
  2.
  3. "I'll get you all fixed up Eiji…" The needle pressed into the skin of his elbow, injecting the potent sedative into his system, not waiting idly for him to fall asleep.
  4.
  5. Closing eyelids, she'd move a hand to rest over his sternum, mana pulsing gently as she tried to find just how bad the damage was. Water might be her forte, but she would push herself to make sure she didn't let her friend bleed to death. Mentally, a map of the small cuts and internal bleeding would begin to form.
  6. (Kamei Okita)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [01:30] That's all he needed to reassure him he'd sleep well. No removal of his newfound audience would be tolerated, and as her hand begins to pull away he'd let her wrist go with a soft, apologetic smile. It was a break in his character.
  10.
  11. A new act had begun.
  12.
  13. "I know..! I. Know." Not much else is offered past that as he lets his eyes close on their own behind the mask. Calm, peaceful even, but the tribesman had finally found himself a way to sleep and, perhaps, a way to get some actual restful sleep.
  14.
  15. Kamei's initial press to his sternum might be alarming if she puts a bit of pressure behind it! That thing is as flimsy as a board - Practically all of his ribs had been shattered or broken under the duress of some beast. Bits of bone were nestled if not prodding the inner organs within.
  16.
  17. It's going to be a lot of work, sadly.
  18. (Eiji)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [01:32] Gajin raised a brow as the woman introduced herself. He had a skeptical look about him. It was strange talking to someone who lacked any kind of emotional inflection. Still he'd ignore it as he'd been doing before. Esshar was full of the strange, so instead of complaining he just flashed a grin and said in a upbeat tone.
  22.
  23. "Gajin, Herald of the Great Wyrm. An artificer as well. Catherine anyone ever told you, you've a lovely voice?" Well, just because he wouldn't question the monotone nature doesn't mean he wouldn't be playful about it."
  24.
  25. His attention did shift towards the operating room as it began in earnest. It was something else really, the rattling of syringes; each something new and exciting to implement upon the human body. The manipulation of the body utilizing one's own magical skills. Knowing just where to cut, where to nick, and most importantly where not to.
  26.
  27. As he listened to the medical operations, orders given and received, he couldn't help but wonder if the Temple needed a healer. No, he thought that it did need one with Kyra dead. Perhaps he'd turn his voracious appetites for knowledge towards that goal?
  28.
  29. Yes, it might even help with his smithing. Imagine an armor that clogged your cuts as you received them. A hand rose to his chin as he thought about that one. Then his focus slowly, but assuredly, returned to Catherine. Awaiting her answer and particularly paying attention to her expressions at the sound of the surgery nearby.
  30. (Gajin)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [01:34] A pre-filled sedative applied to the elbow. Magic used afterwards in order to map how large had been the harm. That was all Yana could make of what was happening, her worry about Eiji growing as the deeply wounded torax was exposed.
  34.
  35. For a moment, the Ookami turns around, perhaps nauseated from the grotesque vision. As she swings back to look at Eiji's sleeping face, the rest of the procedure is saw with glistening eyes.
  36.
  37. What would she do herself? Yana would simply mimick what had just been showed by the medic, though her healing trees could somehow make the pain a little more tolerable. Aside from this, the apprentice had no idea.
  38. (Yana)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [01:40] The kitsune felt her ears press down on her head as she realized just how bad the injuries were, grabbing for the tray of supplies she had before, and quickly getting even more tools. She couldn't help glancing at the now unconscious man, seeing the misshapen and bruised area of his ribcage, or at least where the ribcage should be.
  42.
  43. Laying the tray out beside him, she'd pick up a scalpel, pausing for a moment of hesitation. Her mana flaring from the free hand as it hovered over his chest, willing the bleeding within to clot. It took a little bit for her to feel confident enough to lower the blade to his skin beginning the process of revealing the chest cavity, and the bits of bone that were broken away from the standard cage.
  44.
  45. There was a small hiss that escaped her tightly pressed lips. It was one thing finding the damage, it was another seeing just how bad it was.
  46. (Kamei Okita)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48.
  49. [01:42] Jarus grimaces seeing the full extent of the damage. It's one thing to inflict it and another to be healing it. Memories flash of all the harm he has caused and there was a tear that seems to of fallen on the ground. He didn't even know how it got there...
  50. (Jarus Koilante)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [01:43] Their purple hued eyes moved over to the boy as she started to stare about their form, her head did not exactly move from facing straight. Her eyes closed leaving a quiet pause from her, the room filling with the noises from the medical bed as she slowly turned her head towards the guy as her eyes opened once more.
  54.
  55. "The thing that I keep getting told is that I need to stop putting others before myself, so I do not think I can say that those words have been uttered to me yet." A small sight escaped from her mouth as she glanced back towards the medical room as her bunny ears flicked ever so slightly. The sounds of the mans skin being cut along with the smell of their insides easily being picked up by her.
  56.
  57. "I thank you for your compliment, though at this time I can not find it in myself to return one to you. Maybe the best I can say is you are brave for facing a god." Her head nodded slightly as she tried her best to pay in kind with a compliment of herown.
  58. (Catherine)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [01:45] Asleep. Eiji couldn't recall the last time he'd even really slept for that matter. Nights had passed by where he shut his eyes for a mere moment, only to open them once more and unable to close again. Days were spent in such a drained state yet with the mask he found his life all the easier.
  62.
  63. This, perhaps, was one of those times he found actual sleep. As strange as it may be he was sedated, properly tucked away into an unconscious state where he could focus on resting off his injuries. All the while the scalpel as it split his chest open.
  64.
  65. It's as Kamei would expect. Bones, bits and pieces everywhere about the internal cavity. Scatterings of shards surrounded a lung, others seemed content to rest upon the other... A snow-white jigsaw of what was once the man's ribs was laid bare before her.
  66.
  67. All the while the swordsman rested. Happy, but silently disappointed in the break of his word.
  68. (Eiji)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [01:48] Catherine takes out the note tha she had recieved before writing back
  72. (Catherine)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [01:48] Catherine says, "I might need to leave it seems..."
  76. [01:51] He was at-least at ease with the work being performed upon Eiji. His focus then shifted back to Catherine and he offered a node to the woman. "By all means, take care of your business." As he said the words he pushed himself up from his chair and meandered over to get a closer look at that operation taking place.
  77. (Gajin)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [01:51] Yana approached a single step to look at the mess inside of Eiji. She squints her eyes, hoping it's just her lack of experience to not be recognizing the ribcage.
  81.
  82. ...Yet, there is supposed to be something solid on top of the lungs, correct? From her artistic experience, Yana knows there should be something keeping his chest together.
  83.
  84. How Eiji is still alive is a mystery.
  85. (Yana)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [01:52] Kamei wished that things like this came easily to her, that she wasn't so surprised at the damage, or that she knew exactly the best way to go about fixing him up.
  89.
  90. "Kami... if only I could mend the bones..." She muttered to herself, carefully beginning to remove the shards that were slicing into his tissue, his lungs, too close to his heart. Nimble fingers worked quickly to do so, another pulse of mana following each to make sure he wouldn't loose any more blood than was needed.
  91.
  92. Each shard was placed into a metal pan, a soft 'ting' sounding through the otherwise quiet treatment area with every red tinged piece.
  93. (Kamei Okita)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [01:54] Jarus looks at the shards and cringes internally. They would need a proper support or bone magic to weld those together again, or at least create a semblance of the ribcage again.
  97.
  98. (Jarus Koilante)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [01:55] Honestly? Yes! There should be something on top of his lungs! Ribs!.. Yet that's mere scatterings inside him for the time being. Whether the bones were replaced with metal or grown back via a magic was up to be seen.
  102.
  103. There's nary a movement from the swordsman though. Blood thankfully flowed out at a slow pace, the pulses of mana from the Okita managing to keep it at a steady setting. Were it not for that then he'd surely have bled out with time alone.
  104. (Eiji)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [01:56] With his conversation partner having departed after their message Gajin would arrive at on the side-lines proper. Hand's slid into his pockets as he just watched the Kitsune whom he often made a lot of money selling odds and ends to. Well trying to fix a ruined rib-cage and complaining about the inability to mend the bones themselves.
  108.
  109. In his head he juggled the thoughts about whether he should offer up his skills. One hand he liked this fox on the other hand he'd never tried to manipulate someone's bones while they where alive. "Kami, if you've need of a bonemancer I can assist." As he said the words he pulled his hand free from its pocket.
  110.
  111.
  112. Offering a little wave to the fox-doc, nothing more. Not even a demonstration of that supposed bonemancy. After-all if he was about to go to work on someone who probably no longer had a ribcage. Best to keep his energy in reserve.
  113. (Gajin)
  114. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  115.
  116. [02:01] White ears flicked upwards at the offer of assistance from a bone magi, turning her head to look at the younger man that had also joined the sidelines in watching her try and help her friend. "I would... really appreciate all the help I could here. There's.... less left than I feared."
  117.
  118. She'd have been fine if there was something left to anchor the pieces to, but there was little in that regard. A larger piece of sternum, some slightly longer sections of rib. Looking at the mess, she'd ask softly. "I can't say as I know how it works, would it be better to try and arrange the pieces before hand?"
  119.
  120. Having never so much as seen bone magic used, let alone in a medical setting, she was leaving this part up to him.
  121. (Kamei Okita)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [02:06] Varceal Vartuul says, "Ah.. eiji - I heard you had a run in with a wraith.."
  125. [02:08] Alistair ven Pelleaux says, "... It seems our internship advertisement went swell, Kamei."
  126. [02:08] Alistair sips tea, kissing the edge of a cup.
  127. (Alistair ven Pelleaux)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [02:10] Alistair poured the dragonlord a cup; even if he's a barbarian it is no excuse to be impolite, after all.
  131. (Alistair ven Pelleaux)
  132. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  133.
  134. [02:10] Alistair ven Pelleaux asks, "What brings you to Osrona?"
  135. [02:11] Varceal would take the small dainty cup that only a human can practically use - but even though Alistair is iggnorant to that fact it is no excuse not to accept a kind gesture.
  136. (Varceal Vartuul)
  137. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  138.
  139. [02:11] Varceal Vartuul says, "Traveling - and hunting for the enemy."
  140. [02:12] Alistair ven Pelleaux says, "So a brief stop before you head elsewhere to resume your 'hunt', then."
  141. [02:14] "That's a good question." The answer came smoothly from his charred lips as he crossed the space between them. Stopping over the side of Eiji and gazing down upon the mess of his rib-cage. It appeared as if only the upper ribes where even left in-tact. Just enough to keep some sturnem in place as he looked upon the wound he'd give a soft whistle. "I'm surprised he's not dead but then again the Moxtli are a tenacious people."
  142.
  143. He said the words as his eyes began to emit a soft ember glow. Magic coursing though his circuits as he reached out, his hand over the bones. Feeling the pulse of Eiji's own circuitry. Focusing upon the circuits that criss-crossed the bones of the downed warrior. Then his focus shifted back upwards towards Kamei. "I've only ever used my magic to break bones. Not set them." As he said the words his lips curled into a confident smirk. "Though, I believe that it'd be a waste to try and re-use the shattered pieces. They've already broken from his bone's circuitry and I am not skilled in circuitry manipulations."
  144.
  145. The young warriors knowledge on the sciences of the world and magic itself had expanded exponentially after his time within Garljing's keep. Often he found it amusing looking back at the spit-fire only interested in a fight that he'd been. Still as his eyes looked to the shattered bones he'd reach out gently, pressing the very tip of his finger against the cracked edge of a rib. He knew that this would be the difficult part. Syncing up the pulse of his own mana with that of Eiji. Luckily they where both warriors of the sword and had trained their circuits to 'beat' in a similar fashion making things easier.
  146.
  147. "I'm going to try and... Well, I don't think I can repair it fully but if I can spark some regrowth you should be able to finish the job with artificals." In short he was going to try and move from rib to rib and force them to regrow themselves. Just as his own could do, though he knew well enough that a full recovery wasn't likely. Settling instead on a safer that would in effect aid in the healing and repair of a single rib at a time. A slow and arduous process.
  148. (Gajin)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [02:15] Varceal Vartuul asks, "Yes - I tend to get stopped by your people alot actually, why do they travel into the dread woods so bodly?"
  152. [02:17] Jarus notes the route Gajin seems to be taking with interest and pipes up,
  153.
  154. "Gajin, would the ribs be too soft being grown so quickly? Should we have a buffer or a brace of sorts?"
  155. (Jarus Koilante)
  156. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  157.
  158. [02:18] Gajin says, "I don't know I'm not a doctor. If they're soft he should toughen up or die."
  159. [02:18] Haruki calmly moved his way into the clinic to see the larger grouping in one side of the store, and the small gathering at the corner. A gentle bow was offered to the Dragonlord.
  160. (Haruki lux Taiyang)
  161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  162.
  163. [02:20] Alistair ven Pelleaux says, "I wouldn't know."
  164. [02:20] Alistair ven Pelleaux says, "Farewell for now, it is time to study..."
  165. [02:24] As Gajin approached Eiji's insconscious body, Yana's eyes prepared to once again take more information than she could possibly be prepared for. The Ookami folded arms underneath her cloak, taking a mental note about the 'synching mana circuits' part.
  166.
  167. For now, there isn't much she can do other than try to learn while others, way more experienced, do the actual job.
  168. (Yana)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [02:25] Kamei gave a small nod of agreement at his statement, finding herself wondering how the younger kitsune was able to breath at all when he came in. "He's nothing if not stubborn..." She murmured to herself, watching as the man began to kickstart the regrowing of the bones themselves. The kit beside her opened quickly.
  172.
  173. Hands rummaged for a moment, looking for the correct pieces of mithril and orchilacum that would work best in this sort of situation. She settled on long thin pieces of the blue silver material. Making sure that she worked quickly alongside the bone magi, she'd set up the metal to work as supports, and to help strengthen the ribcage as it regrew.
  174.
  175. "If anything... it would be weaker only for a short while... but the mithril should help make sure that he's okay. Orchilacum for the mana circuits.." Her words were almost idle, concentration obviously on the task at hand.
  176. (Kamei Okita)
  177. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  178.
  179. [02:26] Jarus Koilante asks, "Could I perhaps try and fuse those on?"
  180. [02:26] Gajin says, "We can't cross magics like that bro its gay."
  181. [02:26] Kamei Okita says, "Might make it more effective..."
  182. [02:28] Gajin says, "Honestly Jarus? I've no clue if that'll work. Go for it, he can't refuse."
  183. [02:30] Jarus steps forward and positions the bones onto the ribs as directed by Kamei. He seems to pause for a moment as he feels for the metal's consistency and slowly fuses it into the bone as a sort of superhero based comic in a far off land.
  184.
  185.
  186. "It seems to be fusing well, but I don't know if the circuitry will fully be recovered without some adjustment."
  187. (Jarus Koilante)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [02:32] Haruki calmly moved to sit on the nearby chair to just observe the operation from afar, sipping from his drinking gourd pleasantly.
  191. (Haruki lux Taiyang)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [02:32] Gajin wondered if they could staple Eiji's skin closed like they'd done his own.
  195. (Gajin)
  196. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  197.
  198. [02:36] Gajin felt weird as he felt the mithril and orichalcum merging with the bones. Well, he'd do his damndest to keep the flow of Eiji's mana going. He still wasn't sure if the bone's would be strong enough. Luckily this was all great practice for Gajin and his life wasn't on the line. Truly one of the rarest events in the youth's life.
  199. (Gajin)
  200. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  201.
  202. [02:39] {Item} You picked up Frilly Maid Dress. Dropped by Haruki lux Taiyang..
  203. [02:40] {Item} You drop Pendant Of Garljing.
  204. [02:40] {Item} You picked up Pendant Of Garljing. Dropped by Gajin..
  205. [02:41] {Item} You drop Pendant Of Garljing.
  206. [02:41] {Item} You picked up Pendant Of Garljing. Dropped by Gajin..
  207. [02:41] {Item} You drop Pendant Of Garljing.
  208. [02:41] Kamei gave a small, thankful smile to the red head as he fused the metal to the bone, speaking softly. "It should be fine for the moment. The only thing that would make it better is arcanium…." Her gaze turned back to the rebuilt ribcage, a soft sigh as it was now her time to work a bit harder. There were still dozens of nicks inside the area.
  209.
  210. Left hand lifted to the water basin, not all that far from where she stood, the water flowing to surround the man's insides before emitting a faint cleansing glow.
  211.
  212. Mana pulsed gently, consistently as it was used to help the younger kitsune's insides heal. By the end of it, she had to admit she was feeling drained. Water hovered in the air as she closed the skin over the now healed ribcage, lowering only once more to help the incision begin to heal as well.
  213.
  214. Her soft voice was a little distant as she kept her focus. "Top right drawer, there's bandages if you please..."
  215. (Kamei Okita)
  216. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  217.
  218. [02:41] {Item} You picked up Pendant Of Garljing. Dropped by Gajin..
  219. [02:46] Yana was quick to grab the bandage, swiftly handing it to Kamei so she could properly finish off taking care of Emeji. A polite, awkward smile is given her direction.
  220.
  221. "The bone fusion... I would have never tought of it."
  222. (Yana)
  223. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  224.
  225. [02:47] Gajin just sort of exhaled a held breath. Turns out working to regrow someone else's ribcage was extremely hard! Exhaling as he looked down at Eiji's beautiful sleeping mask.
  226.
  227. "Emeji's something special." He just looked at the little monster. What an angel.
  228. (Gajin)
  229. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  230.
  231. [02:52] The elder woman smiled softly, careful to allow the remaining water to absorb into the man's bloodstream, knowing he needed the hydration more than anything. Her hand took the bandages from the other woman, and began to slowly wrap them around his torso, making sure that the area would not pull open any time in the near future.
  232.
  233. "His name is Eiji dear..." She corrected before letting the patient lay back on the bed, pulling a sheet out of the bedside table to cover him up to his shoulders.
  234.
  235. "And one thing about being a medic is being able to adjust for the uncertainty. There will always be things you haven't dealt with before..." She gave a tired sigh as she leaned against the wall beside her, exhausted from maintaining that level of control over his bleeding and healing for so long."
  236. (Kamei Okita)
  237. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  238.
  239. [02:53] Jarus holds himself up with a slightly unsteady footing after doing such fine manipulation of metals for so long. He lets out a soft sigh and leans on the cabinet gently.
  240.
  241. "Think he will pull through Kamei?"
  242.
  243.
  244. Jarus was hoping for a yes, but expected nothing better than a maybe.
  245. (Jarus Koilante)
  246. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  247.
  248. [02:55] "Right, I knew that." He didn't know but it was the way of things. Looking away from Eiji and then looking back towards the two other magi staring into the room. He then sort of shimmied past Jarus and Yana. Strolling on over to take a seat at the little tea table.
  249.
  250. "I think he'd have died already if he wasn't going to pull through Jarus."
  251. (Gajin)
  252. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  253.
  254. [02:55] "What were the odds?", Yana asked abstractly, once again retreating into the large shadow of her cloak. "...You know, of him ending up like this and surviving."
  255.
  256. After the surgery was finished, the beastkin stepped closer, knowing well enough it wouldn't be safe to be close before. Her eyes analyzed Eiji's state thoroughly, stomach turning at the grotesque painting of many, many bruises.
  257. (Yana)
  258. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  259.
  260. [02:55] Jarus Koilante says, "I suppose you are right..."
  261. [02:57] Jarus walks up to the bed he was only recently upon and pulls on his jacket with a slight grimace from his own wounds which paled in comparison to the person's known as Eiji's
  262. (Jarus Koilante)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. [02:58] Honestly? There's not much else to be had for the sleeping Kitsune. While it's restful sleep... Anesthetics could only last for oh so long. There's a few moments that pass before a low grumble escapes from the tribesman. Honestly, the man just wanted to rest yet...
  266.
  267. The whispers were there, begging for the encore. Ceti was still pleading them forth.
  268.
  269. Slowly his eyes open up behind the mask, and in truth? He's content to merely listen to the idle chatter between the many. By all means he shouldn't have been fighting after the first crush of his ribs. Yet when was the performer one to quit on his performances?
  270.
  271. "Not... Bitch made," Eiji murmured on out groggily. Half-lidded eyes remain hidden behind the mask as he grumbled, "That was one Hel... Of a fight."
  272. (Eiji)
  273. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  274.
  275. [02:58] Jarus Koilante exclaims, "Ah, he has fight in him left? Maybe we should smack him for not running when he started to get so hurt!"
  276. [02:59] Kamei gave a small nod of her head, recognizing the ache in her shoulder from using it a bit too much considering it was mending as well. "He's made it this far. And I'll be here to watch and make sure, just in case."
  277.
  278. Her gaze moved from her patient to the woman, a small smirk on her lips. "Never underestimate how much a naturally stubborn kitsune can simply... refuse to die." A white ear lifted when she heard said beastkin talking.
  279.
