A sneaking spider,
A lurking weevil,
Hides in my work.

Tangling the paths,
Gnawing at the works,
Hiding in the grain.

When I find it, I will laugh,
exult, and scorn
the foolishness that put it there.

Sly Hermes relishes my confusion,
The Trismegistus knows the truth of my quarry.
His arts will reveal it to me,
And he will hoist me high when I master it.
