  1. Before the Updates
  2. (sprite) Fighting/Flying 105/60/90/115/80/85 Prankster/Intimidate
  3.
  4. Since it's inception, Tomohawk has been an S rank threat and a stalwart of the metagame. It was strong in every aspect of the game, with an incredible support movepool backed up by Prankster, great bulk and defensive typing and offensive power with a great movepool.
  5. Updates came in with the idea of toning down it's power without destroying what made it a fun, interesting CAPmon.

  7. The End Goal
  8. The main goal with Tomohawk was not to drastically weaken it, but to bring it in line with the rest of the CAP meta. Discussion quickly started on some of the most visible elements of Tomo: Prankster and Haze. Prankster made it's support movepool even stronger, letting it have priority on many important moves such as Taunt and Roost. One of the biggest abusers of the ability was Haze, which created a dead stop to setup sweepers, especially those that relied on one time setup moves. Although both were identified as being very strong tools, the community came to a consensus that Prankster had become Tomo's identity, and that Haze was a benefit to the metagame, although neither went without scrutiny or disapproval.

  10. Once realizing what was important to keep for Tomohawk's identity, the update focused on moves that were both too strong and nonessential: Reflect and Earth Power. Reflect turned Tomo into a defensive behemoth that could barely be 3HKO'd by Mega-Metagross's STAB Zen Headbutt. Earth Power fit nearly every set that Tomo ran, allowing it to beat checks and counters such as Plasmanta and Mollux and giving great neutral coverage across the meta, even replacing its fighting STAB. The moves went to poll, and both were removed.

  12. Move additions were next, and after debate over moves like Featherdance, Circle Throw, and a renewed argument for the removal of Haze, the competitive side of things was over with no new additions or removals. Consistency updates brought the bird Aqua Tail, Power Up Punch and Sky Attack, finishing the updates with a one sided poll not to allow Flying Press.

  14. After Updates
  15. Tomohawk still remains a powerful, versatile threat in the CAP Metagame. Defensive and offensive sets alike still are powerful, with Tomo still having acess to an arsenal of strong moves. However, it has become much more manageable, with more checks and counters due to Earth Power's removal and less defensive power with Reflect's absence.
