PIRATES OF WAVECREST: CURSE OF THE CAUL

The West shall always be the home of the free.

The Princes of the Earth... contend over men and their allegiances. There is no land beyond their reach. There is no horizon of which they have not conquered.

But beyond the horizon, the endless sea. Where a woman's queendom is her ship. Where men are equals.

At least... that is the dream.

The reality is far less romantic. Tyrants rule Wavecrest, extracting tribute and tithe from the people. The Realm's navy patrols the oceans as if it was theirs to possess. Dark lords rule from the shadow of Skullstone. Storm mothers impose their whim upon the waters.

And with the reemergence of a new continent - the land of which is sacred to both Luna and Gaia - known as the Caul, the West has been embroiled in a war between the Silver Pact and the Realm. No matter who wins, the free people of the West lose.

House Peleps seeks to assert its hegemony in the West to bolster its position in the seemingly inevitable civil war. Deprived of its merchant marine assets to House V'neef, it must make up its shortfalls in conquest.

The pair have gone through many adventures, searching for lost treasures, shipwrecks, cities lost to time and tragedy. All for one purpose - to assemble the greatest alliance of pirates, thieves, and sellswords that Creation has ever seen.

North of the Caul and east of sunken Luthe is a volcanic island, mere centuries old. Hidden from prying eyes with sorceries and magic, Turtle Island on approach seems to be a barren rock, with four points on the side that suggest legs.

Darktide's ambition swells beyond the west - in his heart, he dreams of a thassolocratic confederation of free captains, which control the seas against all princes and empresses. With Creation's waters under domination by pirates... a wave of revolution will surely follow.
