  1. Dear [Congressman],
  2.
  3. I am writing to you to discuss the need to remove the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. This act, at the time of its creation, was seen as a good thing for the United States in that it would bring in immigrants from all over the world. At the time of its creation, then Senator Ted Kennedy said that this bill would be beneficial to the nation but many who opposed the bill felt it would mess with the fabric of the nation. In order to prove it would not mess with the fabric of the nation, Senator Kennedy made a list of what this bill would NOT do, he said that this bill would NOT have millions of immigrants come into our cities annually, it would NOT raise the level of immigration and it would remain the same, it would NOT choose immigrants from one part of the world over another and would NOT bring people from economically deprived nations, it would NOT change the ethnic build of the nation, it would NOT bring in illiterates, criminals, disease, or mental illness or those that would live off of government assistance, it would NOT give visas to those that may be a burden on the nation. After 50 years, we can see that all of his talking points are wrong. The immigrants we do bring in come in by the millions, the level of immigration has surpassed the amount we took in before the bill was passed, we choose to bring in immigrants mainly from economically deprived nations, it has completely torn the fabric of the nation by destroying the ethnic buildup of the nation by having the native population go from 90% of the nation to a mere 60% 50 years later, it has brought in immigrants who do not assimilate or integrate to the American way of life. Not only that, but the immigrants we bring in do not assimilate or integrate into our society. When I walk my streets they do not speak English or follow our customs as Americans, they wave foreign flags and harass the native population of our nation. This bill also destroyed the Black community, when this bill passed, the immigrants were willing to work for less than our Black community, destroying the black community and bringing them nothing but crime and destruction after fighting for integration. Our wages have not gone up because we continuously bring in immigrants who are willing to work for less, this has also been abused by many businesses to use third world labor and not American citizens.

  5. This bill has destroyed the very fabric of the nation to the point people of different races do not want to be around each other and are always at each other’s throats. Before this bill was passed, our immigration system was used to bring in immigrants who would be the best suited and most capable of helping the nation, not out of racism, but out of necessity to make sure the nation didn’t change and didn’t change rapidly. As President Calvin Coolidge put it, “America must be kept American.”

  7. The Founding Fathers did not build this nation to house all the people of the world, they were very skeptical about immigration and its long term effects. I ask that you please look into this bill and its removal and return to our traditional way of immigration. If you don’t then I am afraid I cannot support you for re-election and would have to vote against you and ask my community to do the same. Thank you.
