- I have thought about this long and hard. My self imposed silence does not hurt Twitter...my initial thoughts after suspension were to leave altogether and terminate the account, but, I had advice not 2 do so. The only reason I have this account, is to try to help people and animals, and imposing Self Suspension on myself was not doing that. There are many folks I care about on Twitter, and it did a disservice to them that I was not RTing their great posts. I do intend to markedly decrease the time I spend on it, and on things that take me away from helping my family, humans and animals here, but, I assert that on the day I was suspended, I had not violated any rules of Twitter to the best of my knowledge, and to this date, have never received an answer on why they did that.
- The threat of possible future suspension though, will not cause me to avoid tweeting what I feel, nor from supporting my Brothers and Sisters in Anonymous and Occupy. If I had to monitor and adapt the content of every tweet, for fear of offending SOMEONE, Admin, CEO, or fellow member, it would render my content pablum, and ultimately, so useless I wouldn't follow myself.
- I wrote an article this morning on the effect of reasonless suspensions on users of the service, and hope that someone at Twitter takes heed. The article was not meant to be vituperative, but instead, was meant to be constructive criticism.
- Twitter like anything, can begin to monopolize the time you should be spending on other things, things that often matter a hell of a lot more than social Media. Yes Virgina, there is a life outside of Twitter.
- That said, I end my self imposed suspension and will tweet when either I have something to add to the ongoing conversation of Twitter, or news I think you may have missed, with, perhaps a tune thrown in here and there.
- Thank you all for your patience with me, for fighting to get me reinstated. I read every one of those and thank each and every one for being so kind to me and trying to help me.
- As I said in the video, #SailStrong #BeWell
