  1. Phoenix
  2. Family: Harpy
  3. Type: Birdman
  4. Habitat: Mountains, Deserts
  5. Disposition: Devoted, Lustful, Passionate
  6. Diet: Men's spirit energy
  7.
  8. A Harpy with the power over fire. While not directly linked to the Goddess "Eros", they are revered as divine beasts by both men and monsters. This belief comes from legends spawning around the Phoenix representing "Eternal Love". This is due to the peculiar magic that is stored in their body: The power of rebirth. In this way, Phoenixes will seek men with an over-abundance of mana to make their husbands.
  9.
  10. Due to this, when they attack potential husbands, they dive from the sky alight in flame. Some men have recorded such encounters as feeling as though the sun is hurtling towards them. This is a diversion, however, from the true purpose of the attack. Before initiating intercourse, the Phoenix will feed her mana into the flames, essentially burning herself in both heart and body with passion. Upon colliding with her new husband, the flames will wash over their body and revitalize them both, and the old will become young again.
  11.
  12. After the rebirth, with a younger and more youthful body, they will seek intercourse with the 'male' in front of them. Due to the mingling of their mana during the cleansing flames, the young man will be overcome by lust for the Phoenix and thoroughly violate her on the spot. Fewer acts of sex between man and monster have an opportunity to be that passionate, and they will paint each other in the taste of their mana. This not only secures the man as their husband but completes the self-fulfilling prophecy of the belief in the legends.
  13.
  14. Years or even centuries will pass by with the man and Phoenix experiencing different 'lives' together, only for them to continue to mate and even breed. This is the truth of the Phoenix's "Eternal Love", for not even death has any hold over her or her husband. While it may seem to be a healthy alternative to the necromancy of those within Hel's kingdom, the Phoenix is an exceedingly rare Harpy.
  15.
  16. The plumage of the Phoenix is also known to be a potent healing ingredient, referred to as "Phoenix Down". In each feather, a portion of an individual's mana will reside that contains the power of rebirth magic. Caution is advised, however. While the Phoenix Down may bring an individual back from the brink of death, it also acts as a potent attractant to Undead, who will inevitably feel cheated from a potential life-mate.
