  14. Integrity is an instrument that defines the level of commitment to truth irrespective of popular beliefs and perception. The most challenging task in life is to move in the opposite direction inspired by the determination to uphold what is right and fair. People fail to understand the meaning of integrity and how it influences the performance of people in positions of public service. Global problems are stimulated by the scarcity of people of integrity like leaders not being devoted to serving the best interests of the citizenry. The need to do the right thing regardless of the underlying consequences demonstrates how integrity adds value to society.
  15. Integrity guides our conduct towards consistency that comes from linking our thoughts, principles, and words. One is believed in any society based on their ability to articulate issues in a manner that reflects their actions and commitment to honesty. Integrity involves the strict adherence to moral principles and loyalty towards standing by what is right in the midst of spirited opposition. People with high ethical standards yield tremendous public trust as many people look up to them as being consistent and able to defend the truth in whatever circumstance they find themselves. It is because of integrity that leaders have managed to inspire followers to have hope and belief in honesty as a tool to foster personal peace with others. The benefit of integrity in civilized societies cannot be gainsaid due to the level of credence it has established in a thriving corporate culture (Erhard, Jensen & Zaffron, 2016). It is a human resource fundamental requirement and an attribute that crowns successful leadership.
  16. Integrity is not given to a person but earned through how people exhibit the virtue in the execution of their responsibilities. Most people have established a reputation beyond reproach through having the courage to defend their integrity against bold forces determined to promote dishonesty for selfish gains. It is on the same wavelength that good people have destroyed their reputation just because of falling to the temptation of denouncing their integrity for individual benefit. The ability to maintain high standards of integrity requires one to undertake a lot of sacrifices that are often too grief to contemplate. The development of integrity rests on the ability to be internally honest by doing what is right when no one is watching. Honesty that comes from our decisions to uphold what is right initiates self-awareness to evaluate our level of recognizing the principles that define our actions.
  17. In conclusion, it is imperative to underscore the fact that integrity comes from within an individual and becomes stronger over time. People of unquestionable integrity have stood for the truth in the wake of adversaries from corrupt forces and intimidation. The call to integrity prepares people to pay the ultimate price of moving against the tide and standing firm for their ethical principles. Integrity is the engine towards sustainable social, political and economic development despite increased levels the desire to profit from dishonesty (Jensen, 2014). A change in the people’s mindset towards the better good of integrity is the right step in eliminating global problems.
