  1. Akira was born in northwestern Victoria to a rather wealthy family. She was raised rather well, taught proper etiquette, singing, and ballroom dancing as she grew up. She was required to wear elegant dresses and her hair flowed almost to her feet because she went to a well-respected girls-only private school in Alba, causing her to become well-versed in very many subjects and learning Syberian. When she was there, she met a girl named Miki: very beautiful with black hair and dark tan skin. The two became best friends extremely quickly, and you couldn't find one without the other very often. Akira began to develop feelings for Miki, but buried them in hopes that it was just a phase. Akira often visited her mother’s homeland of Yeso, enjoying snowy winters with Miki and learning Tien.

  3. A small while after she graduated, Akira gave up the hopes that her feelings for Miki would dissipate, and decided to confess. When she did, Miki was not able to return her feelings because she was not interested in girls. The two began to grow distant, and Akira sensed it. In hopes to win over Miki's affection, Akira cut her hair and began dressing like a man. Three days after she cut her hair, she approached Miki once more, but Miki pushed her away even farther than they were before. Akira had a major depressive episode, locking herself in her room for days, spending all of her time crying. She would neither eat nor sleep, and she eventually committed suicide. Her parents were relieved to hear that Akira was no longer crying, but when they tried to talk to her, they received no answer. Akira had always answered them, even when she was crying. They broke into the room, and were shocked at the sight before them. They rushed Akira to be revived, enlisting the best psychotherapy help they could find. They stopped allowing visitors in the mansion, not wanting to restrict Akira to her room, but not wanting to give up their public image either. Her parents paid the servants well not to talk, and arranged for the therapist to come and go in secret. During her time being confined to the house, Akira began to take an interest in antiques and reading books, not having much else to do. Four months after the beginning of the treatment, the therapist decided it was fine to begin letting visitors into the house once more, and Akira learned to avoid them.

  5. Two months after this, Akira was allowed to leave the house, and she walked into town for the first time in half a year. At first, there were only whispers and small glances in her directions, but those soon turned to gasps and stares, then finally into crowding and questioning. Akira merely smiled and made jokes, tiptoeing around the questions carefully. The crowd eventually disappeared, leaving Akira alone once more, without anyone around her. She could feel the pang of lonliness, and began to visit jazz clubs and restaurants to surround herself with people, going to antique shops and libraries as well. Her visits to the city became more and more frequent, until she was a regular at the jazz clubs (and working to build up quite a tolerance to alchohol) whom everyone knew on sight.

  7. Akira never reconnected with her old friends or Miki, the latter seeming to avoid her as much as possible. That was fine for Akira, as she tried her best to bury her past under the present and future. She made a few new friends, but there was no one exceptionally close to her: no one that she would even call a friend if she really thought about it. One year after she returned from her disappearance, Akira enrolled in the University of Victoriana. Her parents were happy to see her continue her education, but were worried about her well-being. After a long argument including many curse words, tears, and a broken vase, Akira's parents convinced her to see a therapist as regularly as possible. She left with hardly a word to the people of her hometown, not turning back even once to look at the city that filled her with depression. She began studying music theory, as she had always had a knack for music, and the subject she knew the least about: history.
