  1. You stare out at the monster sitting before you. It's tentacles writhing all over as it lets out a loud gurgling roar. It's unsettling, it makes a part of you want to do nothing more than turn tail and run away. But you can't. You and your friends, Red,Jane,Sanja,Helena, you all committed to this...well Helena was sort of forced along, so you aren't sure she counts. But either way, you can't just run away from this thing now!
  2.
  3. "So uh...how do we kill this thing?" Jane asks backing up a bit.
  4.
  5. "Same way we've been killing everything else from this freak show." Sanja laughs "We hit them hard enough until they stop moving!"
  6.
  7. "Well, I don't have any better ideas..." You sigh, taking on a fighting stance. All you have to do is best this monster and then you can shut down that security system! This should be a walk in the park!
  8.
  9. "Everyone stay spread out, the room is wide enough, and we don't want that thing getting us cornered with any of its tentacles!"
  10.
  11. "Er...yeah we totally don't want that!" Jane replies after tripping on her words.
  12.
  13. You can't help but shoot her a look
  14.
  15. "Orange. No."
  16.
  17. "W-what, I wasn't going to do anything!"
  18.
  19. "Still. *NO*."
  20.
  21. She sighs, and summons her ghost bit, you and and Sanja doing the same, it's time to take this thing down!

  26.
  27. The fight gets underway, and already you regret jumping in headfirst. You went to fire your blaster, but the creature must have been looking directly at you, because it blindsides you with one of its tentacles, slamming you against the wall. It then wraps its tentacle around you, trying to squeeze the life out of you.
  28.
  29.
  30.
  31. "Blue Comet!" Jane yells, sending one of her ghost bits towards the tentacle, it begins firing away it, with that having little effect, it instead moves to trying to bite through the tentacle, allowing you to have a somewhat easier time breathing.
  32.
  33. "I'll keep it distracted, get Blue Comet free!" Sanja calls out, ducking into one of the shadows cast by the monster's tentacle before jumping out again. She brings her clawed hand down on it, completely bisecting the tentacle, green fluids flying out as it twitches on the ground. The monster roars in agony, before bringing another tentacle down on Sanja. It doesn't work as she dodges it without problem slicing that tentacle off too.
  34.
  35. Another roar from the monster causes it to angrily shoot out a jet black liquid from its mouth. Ink from the looks of it, Sanja once again expertly dodges, but it hits the wall behind her....and completely dissolves it.
  36.
  37. "Okay girls, whatever yo do, don't get hit by the ink!" she yells at you both
  38.
  39. As if you needed to be notified after seeing it.

  44.
  45. You push your muscles to the absolute limit, doing the best you can to break free. Thankfully, with the ghost bit chomping away, it helps enough that you're able to break free wthout issue, the bit continues chomping away until the tentacle is completely consumed, the monster roaring again. It brings two tentacles down towards you hoping to crush you.
  46.
  47. "Look out!" Jane yelps, grabbing you and making you invisble
  48.
  49. "Thanks for the save!"
  50.
  51. "Any time, now lets kill this thing!"
  52.
  53. You nod smirking behind your helmet
  54.
  55. Not wasting a moment, you switch to Mode 2. using your ice powers to combat the monster, it actually manages to catch Sanja unawares and grips her for a second, shooting a some of its' acidic ink towards her. Thankfully, Jane is on top of things and leaps up holding onto Sanja long enough for it to pass through them, the two landing on the floor and regrouping with you.
  56.
  57. "This thing is a lot more sturdy than expected..." Sanja remarks
  58.
  59. "Yeah, well, we'll just keep hitting it harder!" Jane chuckles
  60.
  61. The moment is broken as the monster roars again. Instead of staying on the ground, it now clings to the ceiling, taking aim at you and your friends.
  62.
  63. "Aw crap...everyone get ready to move!"

  68.
  69. The monster looks at you all from above and without missing a beat, begins rapid firing down its ink. It rains all over the place, making large holes in the room, but thankfully you and Jane manage to dodge it without much trouble, but Sanja has a bit of trouble, she nearly gets hit a few times, but she manages to remain unscathed.
  70.
  71. "Get down here already!" You shout, firing a blast of ice at the monster, you hit it dead center in the eye, causing it to screech and fall to the ground. It wriggles around, roaring still, trying to get the piece of ice out of it's eye. it manages to do so, using one of its remaining tentacles, but for all intents and purposes the thing is probably blind now.
  72.
  73. It gurgles a bit, trying to find you as it moves around.
  74.
  75. This is good, you've got the element of surprise!
  76.
  77. clink
  78.
  79. You turn to the source of the noise, as Sanja seems to have tapped a stray bit of machinery. she looks up at you with a shrug
  80.
  81. You can't help but glare at her.
  82.
  83. You want to slap her so badly right now.
  84.
  85. The monster roars, and sends its tentacles flying towards the source of the noise, which you all manage to dodge thankfully, but you make sure to signal for everyone to keep quiet. You can probably kill this thing once and for all with one good shoot.

  90.
  91. You don't waste any time and Call forth some more ice, throwing it at the beast, it thrashes violently, since it's now blinded, it's tentacle thrashing all over. Jane is caught off guard, and knocked across the the room by one of them, prompting Sanja to run up the monster and drive her clawed hand into the hole that was made in its eye, she dug deep clawing at whatever she could, before pulling out...something.
  92.
  93. Oh dear god is that...is that it's brain?
  94.
  95. Sanja crushes it in her hand as the monster slumps over, dead from having such a vital organ removed.
  96.
  97. Well that was disgusting.
  98.
  99. You both run over to Jane, hoping that she's okay.
  100.
  101. "Hey Jane, you okay?" you ask
  102.
  103. "Ugh...yeah, I think I'm fine..." she groans standing up "Glad I didn't take too many hits, that thing was pretty strong."
  104.
  105. "Yeah, now let's get turn off that security and-"
  106.
  107. Your words are cut short, as the ground begins to shake...the monster now leaning slack against one of the holes is falling...in fact, the entire floor is staring to give way, thanks to all the holes in it. The place can't hold out much longer!
  108.
  109. "We should probably run..." Jane says getting to her feet.
  110.
  111. "G-good idea!"

  116.
  117. You all hurriedly make for the entrance that you came to. As you run across the room, the floor gives way, taking nearly everything in the room with it. The ceiling for that area is coming down even! You're near the door when you unfortunately trip.
  118.
  119. Oh god what is this? A crappy horror movie?
  120.
  121. You quickly get back to your feet, only for your leg to be hit by a piece of falling debris making you fall again, this time a jolt of pain running throughout your body. you try to get up again, but the pain is too much.
  122.
  123. "Urgh, dammit!" You shout.
  124.
  125. "H-hang on!" Jane calls out, rushing to your aid. She flies over and grabs you, managing to ghost you out of rubble.
  126.
  127. "I, I think my leg is broken!" You shout, gasping from pain
  128.
  129. "Don't worry, I got you!" Jane replies carrying you out. The two of you get out with Sanja waiting for you. That entire room being nothing but a black void now.
  130.
  131. "So...think the security is down...?" Sanja asked
  132.
  133. A few feet from you, one of the walled off areas, releases, the wall sliding back up into the ceiling.
  134.
  135. "Taking that as a yes." Jane replies "so what do we do now?"
  136.
  137. "Let's try to find Koffman, he can't run from us forever!" You say
  138.
  139. While you can't walk, Jane has opted to carry you on her back...it's better than nothing.
  140.
  141. >Continue as Sadie
  142. >Switch to Red
  143.
  144. >Continue as Sadie
  145.
  146. You try a few times to stand on your bum leg, but it's no good, and you don't really think you have the time to sit and try to make a splint or anything like that. So, for better or for worse you're stuck on Jane's back. With nothing else to do, you try getting in contact with Red, so caught up were you with what happened you forgot about your communicator function within the suit.
  147.
  148. "Hey Red, are you there?" You say into the HUD
  149.
  150. "Blue Comet...that you? Are you and the others okay?" He asks
  151.
  152. "Well, I've got a broken leg, but aside from that, We're fine here...what about you?"
  153.
  154. For a second, Red is quiet, almost as if he's hesitating before he finally speaks.
  155.
  156. "We're...mostly okay. We ran into that purple guy again.
  157.
  158. You jerk your head up at that "Really?! Are you okay? Did anyone get hurt?"
  159.
  160. "Yeah we're fine, White Moon took the worst hit out of us, but...we're fine. The purple guy is dead though."
  161.
  162. "Good work!" You say, elated by the small bit of good news.
  163.
  164. "Yeah...good work..." he mutters
  165.
  166. "Hey, what's wrong Red?"
  167.
  168. "Nothing...we'll talk later, we're gonna try to find a computer room near here."
  169.
  170. "Great, we're heading towards Koffman, he can't escape from us!"
  171.
  172. You relay the good news to Sanja and Jane, the two nodding as they continue their trek.
  173.
  174. >1d100 please
  175.
  176. >90
  177.
  178. Your trek along the numerous corridors of the facility is met without incident, you were half expecting some other monster to appear out of nowhere, but to your luck, you don't. Eventually, you manage to find Koffman in a room, that looks like an office, with the bookshelf having moved to the side, revealing a type of secret passing, upon, seeing you, his eyes go wide.
  179.
  180. "N-not possible, you can't be alive!" he states angrily pointing at you "The creatures I created should have killed you all easily!"
  181.
  182. "Sorry to disappoint you, but your monsters are actually really terrible at killing anyone who can fight back." Jane replies, her voice dripping with sarcasm
  183.
  184. "Surrender now, you're under arrest!" You say from Jane's back "We're taking you in!"
  185.
  186. "Huh, on what charges? No one will believe you at all when you talk about what has occurred here, I've already deleted all the data stored...now all I have to do is wait for my good friend in purple to return here, he's more than a match for you all."
  187.
  188. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but your purple friend isn't among the living anymore."
  189.
  190. "Impossible!" he blurts out before taking out a communicator "Subject N313, do you copy, respond...subject N313!"
  191.
  192. His eyes go wide with shock. As the revelation dawns upon him, he scowls at you all. "You harlots, that was my most perfect experiment!"
  193.
  194. "Yeah yeah whatever, just surrender!"
  195.
  196. "Nonsense, now I have a reason to do this." He taps a button, which causes a voice to chime out.
  197.
  198. "Emergency Self-destruct system activated...the facility will detonate in 5 minutes"
  199.
  200. Koffman looks at you all smirking "Now what is more important...me, or getting out of here alive?"
  201.
  202. >Capture him
  203. >Regroup with the others and escape!
  204.
  205. >Capture him(56)
  206.
  207. "Black Asteroid, if you please?" you ask
  208.
  209. "Gladly!" She responds
  210.
  211. You watch as she moves into the shadows, but just as she does, Koffman jumps back into the pathway, pushing a button mounted on the wall, a force field coming up just as Sanja smacks into it.
  212.
  213. "I admire your tenacity, but I'll leave you all to possibly die now." He says smugly, retreating into the pathway
  214.
  215. "Dammit it all!" Sanja yells
  216.
  217. "No worrying about that now...we'll have to hope Red and the others came through. For now, let's get out ouf here!" You exclaim as you feel some slight rumblings among the ground, Jane carries you out, while Sanja follows behind, the three of you making your way back the way you came.
  218.
  219. You bring up your communicator again hoping to get in touch with Red
  220.
  221. "Hey, Red! Are you there?"
  222.
  223. "Yeah, what's up?" he replies sounding panicked
  224.
  225. "So uh...this place is going to blow in like 5 minutes
  226.
  227. "The facility will self-destruct in 2 minutes...!"
  228.
  229. "Okay, make that two minutes."
  230.
  231. "We know,We're running out now, we'll meet you outside!"
  232.
  233. "Wait, did you get the data?!"
  234.
  235. "We'll talk outside!
  236.
  237. >One last 1d100
  238.
  239. >86
  240.
  241. Jane continues carrying you, running as fast as she can with Sanja in tow, it's a total blur, but at some point, you all meet up and at the passage that lead to the secret lab. With only about a minute to spare. Deciding you had no better chances, you all make a leap out of the window, hoping to whatever gods are out there that you all land safely.
  242.
  243. Thankfully, you land on a nearby roof, and then quickly hop to others in quick succession until you're at least a few blocks away...just in time to see the entirety of Koffman's building go up in flames. The entire top half of the building is gone, and numerous explosions travel throughout the other floors, before the entire thing comes down on itself.
  244.
  245. "Damn...he really wasn't kidding when he said the place would blow." Jane muttered
  246.
  247. "Yeah, it's good that we all got okay..." You say getting down off her back, you stumble to the ground, holding your leg in pain.
  248.
  249. "Dammit..." You groan
  250.
  251. "Careful with that leg, we'll get you to a hospital later." Helena said
  252.
  253. "Yeah...yeah we...wait...what is that?" you say, noticing that Red is carrying the purple warrior with him. You must not have noticed since you were so focused on trying to escape.
  254.
  255. "It's...well..." Red starts
  256.
  257. "Wait...Jerry...?" Sanja mutters powering down "What the...why is he...and...Red what happened?"
  258.
  259. Cont
  260. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  261.
  262. You are Red Meteor and you have got some explaining to do. You sit Jerry's body down on the roof, you can hear sirens in the distance already. Cops, fire fighters, and paramedics are all on the scene, and it makes for quite the backdrop to the information you're about to share.
  263.
  264. "Well...from what I can tell...Jerry was kidnapped by Koffman, how or when, who knows, but he was put under mind control, and so he was forced to act as our enemy."
  265.
  266. "That...that can't be true! Whenever I was at work, I'd dip a hand in his shadow, he just seemed tired the entire time, he didn't look weird at all when I saw him!" Sanja exclaims
  267.
  268. "I know...I know, but didn't he seem weird at all in some other way?"
  269.
  270. "I...don't really remember anything...but he had this bracelet on his wrist, It looked odd, but when I asked him, he said it was part of his probation...oh god, I didn't think it was part of this at all..."
  271.
  272. "It's alright Sanja, there's no way you could have known."
  273.
  274. "What about that USB? Did you get what you were supposed to?" Jane asks
  275.
  276. "Yeah, we got more than enough according to Sally. Koffman won't be able to go anywhere without being a wanted man."
  277.
  278. "That's good...for Jerry's sake at least. But what do we do about the body...?" Sadie asks looking it over.
  279.
  280. >I'll take it down to the ambulance
  281. >Maybe we should give him a proper burial away from all this
  282.
  283. >Maybe we should give him a proper burial away from all this
  284.
  285. You look out over at the all the commotion going on. It'd probably cause a really big fuss if you just dropped down there with a dead body of the guy who just attacked you, and so you turn back to the others.
  286.
  287. "I think it'd be best if we buried him away from all this, Imagine all the problems that'd arise if we just drop down there unannounced with a dead body in our hands."
  288.
  289. The others all nod in agreement at this, none of them wanting to be the one that goes down there to do the deed.
  290.
  291. "I'll handle it, he was my friend, so I'll handle burying him." Sanja says resolutely
  292.
  293. "Are you sure you don't want any help?" You ask
  294.
  295. "Yes, it'll be fine. Besides,We're all tired, and could use some rest and I'm sure the police will be on the lookout for us. It's nice time, so I can get to the graveyard with ease. I'm in my element."
  296.
  297. You reluctantly agree, Sanja transforming and taking heading off with Jerry. The rest of you all go your separate ways for the night(well, in your case, you went with Sadie to the hospital), tired and in some cases, broken from the encounters that took place this night.
  298.
  299. You take Sadie to the hospital, where she was told to stay for the night, while they get some x-rays done on her leg. She made up some lame excuse of falling down the stairs, which just made the doctors stare at you suspiciously. Frankly, you're too tired to care and making sure Sadie's okay, you head back to her house where you promptly fall asleep.
  300.
  301. >Several days later
  302.
  303. The next couple of days saw you seeing the aftermath of the entire situation. The first thing on your agenda was to deliver Jerry's final words to the girl he'd asked you to. Thankfully, there was an address on the back of the photo he'd given you, and so, donning your armor again you make way for the address listed.
  304.
  305. What you didn't expect to see was was a super fancy home, in the more ritzy area of the city. It was the middle of the day, so you had to be quick and hoped that no one would see you. Finding the home in question, you couldn't think of anything better than to simply knock on the door.
  306.
  307. You were greeted by a lively looking man, who had to be somewhere in his 40's and surprisingly he let you in. It was mostly due to your reputation as a hero it seems and when asked why you were there, you showed him the picture of Martha.
  308.
  309. "Why...that's my daughter...what on earth do you want with her? I'l l have you know she's no criminal!"
  310.
  311. "I know, I'm...I was asked to bring her news regarding a friend."
  312.
  313. "A friend...?"
  314.
  315. Just then, a lively young woman entered the room, curious at seeing you "Father...and Red Meteor? What's going on?" She asked innocently
  316.
  317. "Hello Miss....?"
  318.
  319. "Martha, I am Martha Ryes...why are you here Mr.Meteor
  320.
  321. "It's about Jerry...do you know a Jerry?"
  322.
  323. "Jerry? Yes, yes I do is he alright? Did something happen to him?"
  324. "I'm sorry to say, but Jerry's dead. He asked me to relay a message of how he's sorry he couldn't be the man you deserved."
  325.
  326. At this revelation the entire room went silent, as Martha's face paled "W-what...?" She gasped out "B-but how...who...?"
  327.
  328. "Harold Koffman." You say "It may sound crazy, but he kidnapped Jerry, and ran some experiments on him...my friends and I found a secret lab of his and we ended up fighting Jerry...we didn't know until it was too late."
  329.
  330. It takes a moment for it all to sink in, but Martha is shaken by the revelation, before she breaks down sobbing. You try to console her, but you're kicked out by her father, anger on his face for having upset his daughter.
  331.
  332. You can't really blame him for reacting that way.
  333.
  334. >cont
  335. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  336.
  337. Helena had been watching the news like a hawk the past few days, waiting for the big reveal on Koffman, according to Sally, who had been in touch with the police, it was going to be a little while before the evidence was all compiled, and according to Sally, it had been a lot of damning things there. sally hadn't obtained all the data, but she got enough to basically have Koffman thrown away for a long time.
  338.
  339. The news came on with a breaking news headline about everything Koffman had done, the news went on to state that the information from the police had showed that Koffman had indeed participated in human experiments, how he'd made several illegal deals with less than reputable indidvuals ranging from gangsters to foreign criminals. As well as how he was actually involved in the murders of a few people. It was engrossing and at the same time, disgusting to hear about.
  340.
  341. "What a monster..." Helena muttered to herself, taking a sip of coffee. The best thing that'd happened to her out of all of this was that Sally had decided to 'promote' her at work. In an effort to make her job as White Moon (Though she really didn't want to run around stopping crime) a bit easier, she was promoted to Sally's personal assistant. It turned heads to those in the company when Sally publicly called for her over the company intercom, many expected her to be fired...
  342.
  343. But then the news of the promotion happened, and several people were even wondering what she'd done to earn that position. While she couldn't tell them (as were Sally's orders) she was more than happy to accept the job. Why? Because Helena only had to turn up to her job one time a week for 3 hours, and she was being paid as if she worked a normal work day. In fact, Sally was paying her as if she been working for an entire week
  344.
  345. In essence, Helena now had a *lot* of free time on her hands and she could spend most of her days doing whatever it was she wanted.
  346.
  347. "Mom...can't I go outside or do anything else?" he whined
  348.
  349. "Has it been three months yet?" Helena replied sipping her coffee
  350.
  351. "No..."
  352.
  353. "Then back to your room!"
  354.
  355. "Yes Ma'am..." he sulked, slowly walking back upstairs
  356.
  357. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  358.
  359. Jane and Saya had been in school when the news about Koffman was broadcast, the following days had saw a whole bunch of people on campus talking about it. It appears that Koffman was placed on the FBI's most wanted list, and it'd only be a matter of time until they caught him.
  360.
  361. "Serves the prick right." Saya said roughly as she partook in some cafeteria food "Who did he think was, trying to get away with all of that. I didn't even think he'd be involved in all that kind of stuff."
  362.
  363. "Yeah, well, at least it's all over now and we can finally go out on our date!" Jane exclaimed happily
  364.
  365. "You idiot, don't yell that out loud, people might hear!"
  366.
  367. "Hey, did Ackerman say that she and that eye patch girl are going out on a date?" a random student says
  368.
  369. "Yeah, looks like it. That sucks, that Asian chick looks awesome. Figures she'd play for the other team." another whispers
  370.
  371. "I wonder which one of them tops...." one curious girl says looking at the two girls
  372.
  373. "But isn't that Saya chick dating some other guy...?"
  374.
  375. "A menage' a trois maybe?"
  376.
  377. Saya could only grunt as she face palmed at this, she grabbed Jane's hand and hurried off, hoping to avoid anymore looks or possible gossip, that was the last thing she needed in her life right now.
  378.
  379. "Aw come on Saya don't be mad, it'll be fun!" Jane giggled
  380.
  381. "Why do I put up with you..."
  382.
  383. "Because ya love me!"
  384.
  385. Saya couldn't think of anything to say to that...damn her for being right.
  386.
  387. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  388. Sanja had been coping with Jerry's death in her own way. She decided to privately drink some of her favorite alcohol, she'd been saving it for when Jerry finally got off probation, but with his death, she found this to be the best thing she could do. She'd never forgot heading over to the cemetery to bury him, that was something she never expected to have to do. She'd gotten lucky that the grave keeper there allowed her to dig one out (Then again, she was in uniform, he probably was too scared to say no).
  389.
  390. According to the grave keeper, He'd make sure that Jerry's family knew of what happened and would get him a proper funeral all set up. she slipped her name to him, telling him that a woman named Sanja would definitely want to be on the list of people invited to pay their last respects.
  391.
  392. Those dark thoughts aside, Sanja had one other problem: Work. With Koffman being outed as a criminal, his company was left in shambles. Not to mention that the entire building she worked in was blown sky-high.
  393.
  394. "This sucks..." She muttered as she downed more of her drink it was then that she'd gotten a call on her communicator, the wristwatch like item beeping loudly
  395.
  396. "Yeah what is it...?" Sanja slurred tapping the button
  397.
  398. "Well...at least I know yo aren't sober." Came Sally's voice
  399.
  400. "W-whaddya want Sal, I'm...Urp...busy."
  401.
  402. "Right, getting hammered. Get your ass over here, you start work today."
  403.
  404. "Wait what...?"
  405.
  406. "You heard me, think I wasn't aware about your possible financial troubles? You work for me now, so get over here and do what you do best...and sober up first."
  407.
  408. "Y-yes ma'am!" Sanja spluttered jumping out of her chair...and falling face first. She didn't get to work that day...
  409. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  410. Sadie had spent her first few days after the incident in the hospital, Her friends had come by numerous times to wish her well, and she helped console Sanja somewhat after she'd talking about burying Jerry. Likewise, when Red returned from delivering the news to Martha Ryes, she helped him cheer up a bit as well.
  411.
  412. It was at this point that she realized that, throughout all the things her and her friends had been through, they had never actually killed a living breathing person. Monsters yes, robots yes, but never an actual human being. It weighed on her thoughts, even as she was wheeled home by Red when she was allowed to be released she thought about how she'd only shot her gun a handful of times while at work, and even then she barely if ever hit anyone.
  413.
  414. Speaking of her job, she had to call in explaining her broken leg, and once more she used that lame excuse of having fallen down the stairs. It didn't really help when she told her boss she'd be out of commission for six weeks while she healed up. Some friends on the force stopped by, and they were sure (for some reason) that Red had been treating her badly, but Sadie had managed to convince them otherwise.
  415.
  416. For now, all Sadie could do was sit down and relax while Red took care of the usual household duties, which he didn't fail in at all.
  417.
  418. "Hey Red, bring me something to drink!"
  419.
  420. "Sure thing!"
  421.
  422. "Oh and make sure the dishes are done!"
  423.
  424. "Already taken care of!"
  425.
  426. "And make sure the bath is warm!"
  427.
  428. "You got it Sadie!"
  429.
  430. Thinking on it some more, having her leg broken might not be the absolute worst thing to have happened to her...
