  1. You slam the flat of your sword against the wall to produce a loud clang, and wait. A moment later a winged form comes around the side of the corridor, sees you, and charges with a wordless yell, followed immediately by four other, identical enemies, with identical reactions.

  3. The first angel doesn’t fall into the spike pit, it flutters its wings and clears the gap easily, but then your foot is on its chest before it can land and properly collect its balance as you shove it back. Its feet scramble for purchase that isn’t there as it falls backward, into the spikes.

  5. You use the Dance of Rain to cut two of the remaining four angels from the air as they try to clear the gap, their leaps putting them on nice, predictable paths that their malformed wings can’t quite adjust well enough to avoid your blade. You don’t even have to kill them, just cripple them, push them back or spoil the landing. The spikes and their own weight do the rest.
