On Druids and Nature

Druids on Egama are a group that are more aware of the nature of the world than most others, even wizards in some cases. Their connection to Egama gives them an additional connection to Metrama, the World-Mind. They have the perspective that the world and its mechanics are faked and simulations of another world. In that way, it's their duty to ensure that the simulation continues and is not damaged or disrupted.

Druidic spellcasting flows from Metrama, its mind and power travels through the environment and into them. Metrama has an awareness and knowledge of all creatures that live upon it. Druids may enter a trance to see distant creatures, learn about them, and be able to transform into them if capable.

Wildshaping is not, strictly speaking, magic but rather a temporary limit release of a creature's form. It is similar to that of the Forgotten Ones, the initial lifeforms upon Egama, whose form was unbound and unlimited. Druids who forgo practice and training, or attempt to go past their limits in wildshaping, may become a non-functioning mass of meat and organs as a result of their failure and loss of control.
