  1. Hi everyone! I felt the itch to play some vanilla today! ...Sort of. This is going to be completely vanilla gameplay, but with some client side mods that I don't like to live without. The mods don't add blocks, give me This doc is not a full tutorial about how to set up what I have, but mostly for giving you all the links to the downloads that I used to make what I'm playing today. I put this all together live on stream, here is a highlight video if you'd like to see it! http://www.twitch.tv/bacon_donut/v/57299706

  3. Amidst:
  4. This is a tool that allows you to explore a minecraft seed without making it in game. You can use it to find biomes, strongholds, and other hard to find places. I'm using the exe of version 4.1 found here:
  5. https://github.com/toolbox4minecraft/amidst/releases
  6.
  7. MultiMC:
  8. This is a tool that lets you have many different copies of minecraft installed and makes it easy to install and run mods. I use it a lot for mod pack development. I'm using version 5.0.4.11-751 and you can download it here: https://multimc.org/ (click on "download & install" link)
  9.
  10. Forge:
  11. Minecraft Forge is the software that lets you load up mods for minecraft. Make a new multimc instance and then right click on it's icon, click "edit instance" and on the right hand side there will be a button that says "install forge". That will show you a list of Forge versions. The one that I am using here is version 1811. Picking a newer version may cause conflicts unless all of your installed mods support that version too.
  12.
  13. Mods:
  14. All of the mods that I've included are easy to install with multimc. Just right click the instance, click edit instance, click "install mods" then find the jar file that you downloaded for that mod.

  27. Honorable Mention:
  28. A lot of people miss having NEI because it's not yet released for MC 1.9 worlds. I thought I would mention that a lot of people are using JEI (just enough items) which has a 1.9 version out already, even though I'm not using it today. You can get that here:
