- Hewn from flawless white marble, this statue is larger than life, perhaps twice the size that one would assume the original subject must have stood. The figure is a proud Caentoi man in the prime of life, his head held high and his posture regal. He is dressed richly, every intricate fold of the various silks and wraps about his person carved with exquisite attention to detail. The broad belt around his waist- studded with real gems which glimmer in the light- is depicted with a large, heavily ornamented blade thrust beneath it, which the subject of the statue is resting one hand upon, as if ready and able to use it with deadly precision. In his other hand he holds a staff, the mark of scholarly pursuits, and an enormous gemstone has been set in the top of it, catching the light with such clarity that at times it seems to shine of its own accord. The statue stands atop a short pedestal within a small water feature, the surface of the water serving to reflect light upward and further illuminate the magnificent figure. Hints of gold are visible here and there at the bottom of the pool, evidence of small tokens of respect that have been tossed in at the statue's feet.
