RIP Stan Lee

Covet: Tae was sitting on the couches just kind of looking at everyone that seemed pretty somber about the whole Stan Lee passing. She'd been there most of the afternoon since getting out of class, after she'd gotten a text from Eli about holding a vigil at the shop. // Eli was behind the counter getting ready to hand out battery powered candles that he and Bliss has spent a good part of the afternoon making look like mini Iron Man arc reactors. They were going to be doing a tribute slide show thing of Stan Lee's life as well. He was having a hard time keeping it together for a good part of the day.
Alexithymiaa: (POOR ELI.)
Alexithymiaa: -Adam was doing his best to try to be there for Eli because he had been taking the news really hard. Not that Adam was any happier about it, but he doesn't break easily. He'd made his way through the shop, making small talk about the legend's life with a few people who wanted to talk. Stopping by the counter, he looked at Eli. "Do you need help passing them out?"-
Covet: Tae pulled her feet up onto the couch and just kind of rested her head on them. // Eli looked over at Adam when he came over, "Yeah if you would, that would be great." He said somberly. "Thanks for your help tonight."
Alexithymiaa: "Of course. There's no place I would rather be. Everyone needs this right now." He said as he took a box of candles and turned to head across the room, passing the little fake tealites out to people until he got to Tae, holding one out to her. "You doing alright?"-
Covet: "Hmm?Oh yeah, I'm doing alright, I'm more worried about Eli, it's sad, the guy was kind of a legend." She said as she took the candle from him. "How about you?" // Eli started setting up the projector for the slideshow.
Alexithymiaa: -He gave an effortless shrug, shifting the box in his hands. "I'm alright, I guess. Sad, definitely. Just not effected like I think Eli is. He's..." He paused, turning to look over his shoulder at him. "Of course I looked up to Stan Lee, but he was Eli's life."-
Covet: Tae watched him and nodded her head, "Yeah, you're right. When I heard I called him immediately. He'd heard from work and was already pretty bad." // Once everything was set up he looked over at the crowd of people and started getting the comptuter set up the screen showing up on the projector screen.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, I've been trying to stay close. We have to stick together in a time of mourning like this." He said, reaching into the box to grab another candle, passing it to someone who was walking by them. "He's starting the slideshow. It's a really nice thing he put together."-
Covet: "Mhhm. He wanted to do something at least semi special. And of course bringing everyone together like this is a great idea." She agreed and turned on her light, setting it on her knees. // Eli cleared his throat. "I'm going to let the information speak for it's self. But thank you all for showing up. If you'll all turn your lights on, I'll hit the lights and there will be some sound along with it." His voice sounded bretty beaten down by this point in the day. He hit play then walked over to hit the lights dropping them down by half, then went to go sit down on the couch next to Tae.
Alexithymiaa: -Setting the box down on the table for anyone who didnt grab a light, he took a seat on the couch with them and flicked his own light on, holding it in his hands and turning his attention to watch the slideslow. "This is really great Eli. Everything you did."-
Covet: Tae gave her brother a pat on the back, "He'd be proud of what you've done here. Tonight and in general." // Eli gave his head a bit of a nod, "It still would have been pretty cool to get him into the shop though. To be able to have a picture of that."
Alexithymiaa: "He is in the shop. He's everywhere. Look around. Is there anything here that isn't his, or inspired by him? He's touched everyone that's come after him and inspired everyone that came before him."-
Covet: "Yeah, Adam's totally right." Tae said giving Eli a Hug. // Eli nodded "I know, it's just.. bitter sweet I guess." He said looking up at the slideshow.
Alexithymiaa: "It's not like he didnt live a long and full life. He accomplished everything he set out to and more. He was surrounded by friends and family, people who adored him and people he adored. If that's not the epitome of a perfect life, I don't know what is. We should all take a page from his book because he truly did it right."-
Covet: "Mhhm." She agreed with Adam. // Eli shook his head. Not everyone was so keen on that for him. It's like the last five years of his life have been nothing but people trying to get at his money. But I can see where it'd get harder to keep going without your wife there with you. They almost made it to seventy years."
Covet: head, "Not Everyone...
Alexithymiaa: "And most people struggle to see fifty years. Seventy is reserved for the elite kind of people." He smiled, reaching over to pat Eli on the back. "I think it's just the unfortunate truth that wealthy people have those that are just after their fortune."-
Covet: "Right? That only speaks to his accomplishments." Tae said. "People suck. The think money will make them happy, but really it just makes them look like scum." // Eli nodded his head "Mhhm. I'm curious as to how things are going to work out now. If J.C. is going to take over or if they're just going to give Disney the full creative control."
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not sure, but I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on the news for any announcements about it. It's not exactly the kind of law I've sought out to study, but I'm still interested to see how this plays out. He really did leave a lot to be inherited."-
Covet: "They aren't seriously going to fire you or anything are they Eli?" Tae asked concerned, since that was something Eli was pretty proud of. // "Yeah, and I just don't want to see it go the same route that Star Wars has gone." Eli said with a sigh. "You can definitely count me in, for keeping up with what's going to go on. It could mean either good or bad things regarding my job."
Alexithymiaa: "There's no way it could mean bad things. They don't sink something that brings in money." He said with a shake of his head before looking down at the light. "I wonder if he knew how impactful he was to so many people."-
Covet: "Yeah, and you're a total asset to the company, so I'm more than sure your job should be alright." Tae said. // Eli gave a shrug. "I can only hope. I'm sure it will be fine though." He said then looked up at the screen. "I'm sure he knew. So many people told him before now, over the years."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but telling someone something and having them believe it are two very different things. You can tell someone how beautiful of a person they are until you're blue in the face, but they need to see it for themselves. I just really hope he saw himself the same way millions of people did." He ran his hand over the back of his neck, letting out a sigh. He was sad.-
Covet: "I think he did. I mean, from the joy in an adult to kids. The money alone speaks volumes of impact." Tae said. // Eli smiled. "Well Comicon is definitely going to be different this year without him. I imagine it will still seem like he's there though.
Alexithymiaa: "I have no doubt in my mind about that." Adam said with a smile, glancing at the slideshow. "I want to look into what other public vigils will be held to honor him."-
Covet: "I'm sure there is a lot." Tae said. " Probably big ones in New York and in LA." // Eli sighed, "Yeah, I've seen a few other comic artists do up some tribute images. They were pretty heart wrenching."
Alexithymiaa: "Were you planning on doing some art?" He asked as he watched the slideshow end. "I should probably get the lights." He spoke and climbed to his feet, walking over to the switches to bring the lights back. Not good to have people navigating in the dim lighting.-
Covet: Tae looked over at Eli kind of expecting him to do something up as well. // "Maybe. I might work on something this week. To help with the whole grieving thing. Thanks for coming in, I appreciate it." Eli said as he went to go shut off the projector and keep an eye on people as they started to head out knowing the shop was going to close soon.
Alexithymiaa: -He walked over to grab the box, beginning to collect lights from people on their way out. "Thank you for coming." He said in a solemn voice, making his way over to the counter to stow the box. He intended to hold onto his light to put in his room.-
Covet: Tae put her light into her bag and went to give Eli a hug. "I'm going to head home. If I'm lucky Noah will already be asleep and won't be a pain in the ass tonight. I'll see you in the morning Adam." She said and made her way out of the shop. // Eli was working on getting things cleaned up because now he just wanted to get closed up so he could go be sad in bed.
