  1. >Cheese Sandwich's cheesey sense was a-tinging
  2. >there was a party to be held
  3. >Cheese could tell that it was a sort of arrival party
  4. >this was strange, because arrival parties were for towns, and Cheese lived on the road
  5. >even stranger was that it was in a town in which he knew there was a resident party pony whose skills were on par with his own
  6. >this party was to be in Ponyville
  7. >no matter the strangeness regarding the sense, it had to be followed
  8. >Cheese Sandwich would head for Ponyville right away
  9. >somebody named… Femanon?
  10. >whatever
  11. >she was due for Cheese Sandwich's first welcoming party
  12. ----------------------------
  13. >Femanon wandered the streets of this strange city in this strange new world
  14. >funny, one night she fell asleep, the next morning she was surrounded by magic horses
  15. >ponies
  16. >whatever
  17. >they really were a nice bunch, though
  18. >the pink one, Pinkie Pie, had worked out rather quickly that if you were new to Ponyville, then she didn't know anyone , and if she didn't know anyone, then she must not have any friends, and if she didn't have any friends, then she must be lonely
  19. >not like Femanon hasd any close friends back home though
  20. >but it was so nice of that pony to offer to throw a "WELCOME TO EQUESTRIA FROM HAIRLESS APE LAND" party
  21. >a voice from behind brought Equestria's only human out of her thoughts
  22. >"Woah! You must be Femanon! My cheesey sense told me you'd be… unique."
  23. >Femanon was taken aback by the stallion's sudden intrusion
  24. >"Funny, I thought everyone in the whole town knew about the creature in Ponyville"
  25. >"Not from around here, girl. Say, did a Pinkie Pie offer to throw you a welcome party already?"
  26. >"Uh, yeah, how–"
  27. >but the mysterious Cheese Sandwich was already galloping off to Sugarcube Corner
  28. ---------------------
  29. >Pinkie Pie made an exhasperated facial expression
  30. >"Yeah, but I can't seem to do anything to make her smile!"
  31. >Cheese friwned at this
  32. >Pinkie's princess friend piped up
  33. >"Pinkie, it's not your fault. Remember that she's just been taken away from everything she's ever known and been placed indefinitely in a world of strange creatures. Of course she's gonna be unhappy for a little while."
  34. >Cheese Sandwich turned his gaze to Pinkie Pie
  35. >"Ms. Pie, it's good indeed that I've been brought here. Together we can throw a party that'll put a smile on that strange creature's face for sure."
  36. >"You really think so?"
  37. >"Oh, I don't think so."
  38. >Cheese paused
  39. >this was his favorite dramatic effect
  40. >"I know so!"
  41. ------------------------
  42. >"Left a little more!"
  43. >Cheese Sandwich, hanging by the waist from a rope, obliged Pinkie's command by shifting the sign slightly to the left
  44. >"Perfect!"
  45. >Femanon appeared on the scene
  46. >she really didn't have much to say, she just stared in awe at the amount of work going into this party for her benefit
  47. >Cheese couldn't resist calling out to her from his rope
  48. >"How's it looking so far?"
  49. >the human snapped her gaze in the direction of the party stallion
  50. >"Oh, it's great!"
  51. >the party ponies shared a look of excitement and then grinned back at Femanon
  52. >Femanon averted her gaze and scratched the back of her head
  53. >"I'll uh, see you around! Uh, thanks!"
  54. >the tall biped took long strides away in the direction of Twilight's house where she was staying
  55. >Cheese couldn't help but stare as she went
  56. >that is, until the rope snapped
  57. >"I'm fine."
  58. >"Aaare you?"
  59. >Cheese Sandwich took on a puzzled expression
  60. >"Yeah… It was only a short fall."
  61. >Pinkie Pie nudged his chest
  62. >"Not that, silly. She toooootally likes you! And you tooooootally like her!"
  63. >Cheese took a few steps back
  64. >"Wait, what? Pinkie, I don't think that's–"
  65. >Pinkie Pie took on an air of pretend haughtiness
  66. >"My dear, Cheese Sandwich! I am a mare! I have an eye for sort of thing!"
  67. >Twilight appeared out of thin air, and Cheese jumped a bit
  68. >"Mutual liking: the psychological principle by which the more nice things you do for someone, the more they'll be attracted to you."
  69. >Pinkie jumped up and down
  70. >"Ooh! It's time to make this a "WELCOME TO PONYVILLE FROM HAIRLESS APE LAND AND CONGRATULATIONS ON FINDING YOUR SPECIAL SOMEPONY!" party!"
  71. >the enthused pink pony ran off
  72. >Cheese followed in pursuit
  73. >"Pinkie! Wait!"
  74. >"Wait! Pinkie!"
  75. ----------------------------
  76. >the party was magnificent
  77. >Cheese had even convinced Pinkie not to include the CONGRATULATIONS ON FINDING YOUR SPECIAL SOMEPONY part on the banner
  78. >Cheese Sandwich sat in the shade of a tree with Boneless 2, watching the revelry before he vanished again into rhe Equestrian wilderness
  79. >but he couldn't leave yet
  80. >he hadn't seen the guest of honor having a good time yet
  81. >where was she?
  82. >confounded, Cheese Sandwich got up and walked around the party, looking for the human that should have stuck out from the equine crowd like a sore thumb
  83. >he came across Femanon sitting under a tree, head buried in her hands
  84. >Cheese stood there, confused
  85. >why wasn't she interacting?
  86. >the whole point of this party was to get Femanon to make some friends, after all
  87. >Cheese felt a hoof on his neck, and heard Pinkie Pie's voice in his ear
  88. >"This is for your own good."
  89. >Cheese Sandwich found himself shoved in front of the unusual creature, who looked up at him
  90. >Cheese put on a nervous grin
  91. >he may have been a premier party pony, but personal conversation was not a strong point of a pony who lived alone on the road
  92. >"Um, hey."
  93. ----------------------------
  94. >morning
  95. >the party was over
  96. >she knew what she wanted
  97. >she wanted to travel this new country with Cheese Sandwich
  98. >Cheese, whose only friend had been a rubber chicken, couldn't have accepted this offer more heartily
  99. >and so they went off
  100. >wherever the cheesey sense took them
  101. >together
