  1. Welcome to DCDC!
  2.
  3. I know this is a 'firearms board', but at your age, size and the probable fact that you're living in a fairly "safe" area, bear in mind that sometimes we become sensitized to violence and mayhem and over-exaggerate the true danger out there.
  4.
  5. I get a 'feeling' that you are afraid of something and have generalized it such that you possibly feel a pervasive sense of danger and it's made you anxious.

  7. Yes, I know that as one gets older, as one loses a step, having a firearm gives a person a feeling of 'leveling the playing field'. For females, the elderly, the physically small and weak, it's important to have a sense of 'lowered risk'.
  8.
  9. Before 'hiding' a firearm in your car or in your room, I would suggest you think about your actual situation and assess your true risk. The 'danger' I see here is one of having a 'hair-trigger' of anxiety, which I'm not saying is the case here, but it's important to look at your actual situation from time-to-time.

  11. If a person is lying in bed at night clutching a knife under their pillow and they are young and 6'3, 250lbs, I would hope they'd try and find out the source of their anxiety and not go buy even more knives. After all, if one is sufficient is 10 too many (other than a collector).
  12.
  13. Not trying to alarm you or cast your sense in a negative light. Take care and 'be safe'.
