  1. With the electrical grids set up in advance and Obi-Wan’s blessing, Cara pulled up a holo of the city’s sewer system-- created with the research of an engineering droid who was a little too eager to beep and boop his way through raw sewage. But hey, to each their own. At least they could reap the benefits. Highlighting their entrance on the map, she showed, clearly, how their entrance and exit paths differed. It would do them no good to be predictable. Each soldier had their own communications scrambler, a medpac, and for Luke-- EMP charges to set up strategically. Mando and Cassian were sniping from afar, with the usage of Cassian’s ship near one of the sewer exits. With a strength that made the sewer grate deceptively light, she pulled it up and out, to the side. Everybody knew their jobs, and they were past the time for review; with Grievous’ warning, they were running on borrowed time. With General Syndulla’s signal, she, then Leia, climbed down into the sewer. The rest, she knew, would follow-- and when they did, she climbed back up to pull the grate back into place. The padawans, despite their clear personality deficits, were focused. Good. There was hope for the mission yet. Cara led the way, Leia at her heels, armored boots deceptively quiet as she marched through the tunnels, halting at every intersection-- both to reorient herself, and to check for any traps or droids lurking in the shadows.
  2.
  3. Baby Luke
  4. Luke's quick work with the electrical grids had been one hell of a sight to watch, he manipulated wires like they were pieces of a puzzle that he'd already built a hundred times. Rerouting wires was easy because he'd done it many times on Tatooine with the vaporators. Cara's holo of the sewer system gave him insight on the fastest route thanks to the highlighted path, he memorized the turns in his head with a little song. He'd suggested taking the back, that way he can block any attacks or stray blaster shots. The blond is willing to put himself as a shield for any one of those civilians.
  5.
  6. Older Luke
  7. Cara, leading ground Marshall of these forces, would notice a droid being plunged across the sewer, right before her and her group, before a hooded figure walked into view. A green lightsaber lit, held on the right hand. His outfit was black, simple, and lean. What a coincidence, that they had been inside a sewer system with wide halls, and an intersection. The figure stared at them under the hood, seeing through them. Cara, Luke, Leia, Anakin, Wynn, everyone would have that gaze fixed on them. The lightsaber was then turned off with that characteristically irreplaceable sound. "If there's anyway I can help", said a voice a particular young Jedi fledging would recognize, if a bit older, and a bit more grizzled. Then the hood came down, revealing none other that Luke Skywalker. A Luke Skywalker Cara Dunne would be more familiar with, and a mirror of kingdom come. "I'll be more than happy to help". he took a step back. He wasn't going to take command. He was going to aid, and help.
  8.
  9. Kicked the floating droid to the side, only for Luke-- a scarred, far more familiar Luke Skywalker, to make a dramatic entrance. This, this was the man who defeated the empire. This was the war hero she knew, and now younger Luke was face-to-face with the man he was lucky to become. But now wasn't the time, or the place for a heart felt introduction or an explanation about how this planet was so completely fucked timeline-wise. "We're about to kick droid ass and save hostages. C'mon." Cara offered by way of explanation, and stepped around Older Luke. "Did you see any more down here? Traps?" They weren't far from their exit, if their map was accurate. The closer they were, the more likely it was that droids would be posed at the exits. She'd been banking on the element of surprise, but Grievous had an excess of forces. And with an excess of forces, he could afford to have every base covered. "We're getting close." her whisper echoed off the walls, "Any questions?"
  10.
  11. baby luke- That voice sounds familiar, his brows furrow in thought until the face is revealed. Luke's face shifts from a pinched look of concentration to outright surprise, a hand raising to point a finger at the older him. "It's me!" He whispers harshly, gesturing between the two of them. Older Luke in black and he in white, there was something poetic about that. "He is me! That's me but cool." The blond has seen doubles before but he never thought he'd see himself, he was starting to get worried that he died in the future or something. "You can't just pop out of nowhere like that, me!? I'm all thrown off now." Oh but thank Cara for her levelheadedness that keeps him from continuing his rant. It settles the younger down enough to give a nod in response to her whisper, hands rubbing against his thighs to dry the sweat. "I don't have any questions but I want to wish everyone the best of luck. We have this!"
  12.
  13. wynn- "I have a question," Wynn piped up from the back of the group, hand raised. "Can we use the bathroom?" It's a joke, she's joking. Calm down. It's called comic relief. And it's a handy dandy coping mechanism. She's wearing a plastered smile and her hair in the braid Mira put it in. At least she got to reunite with her Master before she more likely than not meets her end today.
  14.
  15. cara-- Almost didn't recognize the kid with her hair braided under control; her little unfunny joke was met with a derisive snort. As long as she could focus when they needed to, there would be no problems here. Babyfaced Luke faced the mission ahead with nothing but optimism, and-- well. So was War Hero Sewer Goblin Luke. "Great, that's convenient." She commented, with regards to the annihilation of a 'small platoon.' And so, they trudged forth-- walking around and over pieces of saber-shredded droids until a dead end, with small indentations on the wall leading up to a panel. Which was cracked open. They must have come in through there. Tossed her holo map to baby Luke-- "Pull up our location, in relation to the hostages." She whispered; the newcomer needed to be in the know.
  16.
  17. bb luke- Luke gave a nod in response and worked quickly to bring up the map. "It looks like we're adjacent to the prisoners." He whispers to the others quietly. "If we hug this corner here and stay close to the wall, we may be able to sneak the prisoners out without notice. That's if they don't have anyone patrolling the shadows too." Digits gesture to where he's talking about, circling the area where all the cells were located. "The small half-walls they have there will also provide ample cover for our charges."
  18.
  19. wynn- stands on the tips of her toes to get a peep at the map. Yep, it's mappy. That is, maps never made much sense to her, no matter how many times Master Yoda tried to explain. It just never clicked. "And if we are noticed?"
  20.
  21. older luke- He listened, and saw the map. Okay, sounded like they had the rescue, and evacuation covered. "Once the hostages are rescued, alarms will sound most likely", he said, looking at the map. "I'm guessing all of us Force Sensitive kind, and the lady with the guns, are going to offer cover during the chaos?" He looked at Cara for confirmation. He didn't know of the snipers. But he trusted the gathered. Then Wynn asked about being noticed. "If we are, I'll draw their fire, and see you at the rendezvous. I can follow Luke". He spoke calm. He would follow his own Force Signature, no problem! "Unless we have a contingency for that?"
  22.
  23. cara-- So they planned this just right, provided that the prisoners were still there when they saw them. "If we're noticed, we kill them." Simple as that; she had more than enough ammo and grenades, including ion grenades, to help even the score. "We're going to offer cover to the hostages, and we're gonna fight our way out. We have snipers, and there's a guy who is supposed to draw a distraction." Which, now would be a perfect time for that. They had coms scramblers, so first-- she had to signal Will. Then, the scramblers to disrupt enemy communication so that they could not alert each other of this small invasion. To Anakin, she entrusted the scrambler; maybe he could use that weird jedi mysticism shit to feel when the time was right. Heard that was a thing. Cara made her way up the ladder and peeked through the tiny gap between the paneling and the floor. A bathroom, by the looks of it-- and she was facing directly towards the open door. Counted four pairs of B1 feet, clanking down the hallway. There were likely more. "Force guys," she whispered, "Open this shit up quietly." If she did it, the noise would draw their attention. "Leia, signal Will. Anakin, set the scrambler ten seconds after."
  24.
  25. bb luke His hands flexed to steady his nerves and slid his saber from it's holster. A slow breath rushes from his lips as he gazes up at the gap in the floor; tongue rubbing against teeth. The order was given but Luke wasn't confident in his ability to lift the panels without making a noise. That was something he was still working on and his gift was shaky at best, his gaze lingered at his older self expectantly. Any other day, he may show off but this wasn't the time or place for something so reckless; not while people's lives were on the line. "How're we getting the doors opened to free the prisoners?"
  26.
  27. wynn "My guess would be, more Force." Force this, Force that. Force everything. And if that fails Cara can probably pry it open with her bare buff hands.
  28.
  29. oldy luke Okay, so he wasn't that far off. Good to know! However, apparently their distraction guy wasn't being 100% reliable. They'll improvise. And then Luke, this Luke, moved two fingers, lifting the panels silently, softly, weightless. He gave a nod of check. His own lightsaber held with his dominant hand. The names Anakin didn't escape his ears. That was... it felt nice, knowing his father was helping. "The doors could he short-circuited with lightsabers if they have a control panel", he had practice with that. He turned his lightsaber on, signaling he was ready to go all Jedi Master on this.
  30.
  31. cara The panel was lifted with little more than a soft clatter as it settled upon the tile. Anakin sent the signal, and she ascended up the divots in the wall, gripped the edge of the access chamber and pulled herself up with relative ease. Her heavy repeater blaster was secured upon her person. Back to the wall, she leaned forward just enough to get a visual. When all was clear, she made eye contact with each soldier and signaled when the coast was clear. Then, an earth-shattering BOOM came from the east-- shaking the building at its' very foundations. Followed by another, and another. And then came the sound of droids, clanking down the hallways and gathering their weapons. Communications shot, some scrambled to the nearest exit to investigate-- while others manned their positions, prepared to stand guard no matter the cost. Being disposable was a luxury none of her crew could afford.

  34.
  35. wynn- Arms up, Wynn Force jumps out of the hole in the floor. Because honestly? That ladder looks pretty gross. Her scrambler has yet to be activated. She keeps a hand on the saber that's fastened to her belt. It's not time to use it yet. "Are you small enough to fit?" Probably not. But the six eyes on her right now had a solution to that; her. She was the smallest one here.
  36.
  37. oldy luke heroic Goblin Luke would be the last to climb up. And that meant a silent jump out of the sewer. Being the last to join, he'd be then last to come out as his saber was turned off momentarily. Some habits died hard. It was inevitable, he felt the I-want-to-smack-myself feelings from the other Luke. So he reached with the Force, and gave him what tantamount as a reassuring shoulder squeeze, warm and lacking any sort of judgement. He had been there. Plus, stealth would be out the question for some of them real soon. He landed out of the hole silently, and stuck to the shadows. And Wynn had just self-volunteered for the window plan. "Sounds like a plan", he said, calmly, with unwavering faith in the young Padawan. His eyes then moved to Cara, letting her know he was ready to raise some hell when she was. His father and Leia would probably do something both unnecessary, yet visually striking. They even brought coms scramblers. They had experience with guerrilla tactics.
  38.
  39. sewer goblin luke "How small we talking?" She asked, dark brow raised. Because in case he didn't notice, she wasn't exactly a dainty woman. Armor on top of that, well, squeezing in might not be the easiest option for her. But difficult and impossible were just brothers easily mistaken for each other. Luke, Luke, and Anakin weren't exactly dainty either. By the time her gaze landed upon Wynn, the padawan had volunteered herself. And with her lightsaber, she could probably open up the entrance on the inside, brief the hostages, and... "While she does that, we're going to make sure the perimeter is clear. And if it isn't, we're gonna clear it." Her gaze then, gravitated towards the ceiling. A camera. With any luck, it wouldn't be too late-- immediately, she jumped towards the wall, pushed off it with her foot-- and smacked the camera 'round til the lens faced a different direction. Destroying it completely would only give them away. A visual of some kind would be less likely to be caught. She landed on her feet, louder than she would've liked, but they had little time to waste. "Wynn, you know what to do."
  40.
  41. bb luke -- It seemed that Luke didn't have to explain it, all eyes were on Wynn before he could get the word out. They were working like a well oiled droid, good for them. Oh, cameras. Damn, if he'd known about the cameras; he could have reworked them to loop the same image without setting off any alarms. A good idea in hindsight but it didn't help them now. Luke knelt down under the little window and laced his fingers together, ready to give her a little boost up. "We'll meet you by the door, okay?"
  42.
  43. wynn Here she was, on the spot. The spot was not the greatest place to be. But there was too much riding on her performance today to get hung up on trivial things like nerves. Or emotions. Or a dense, thick brain fog that she hasn't been able to shake since waking up today. Her face conveyed determination, meanwhile her stomach fluttered. She'd nod to Luke(s), to Cara, Anakin, and herself. Like a nod would fix anything. She took a deep breath in as her foot stepped firmly into baby Luke's hands, hands gripping the sill of the open window. With a gruff exhale she hoisted herself up, began to slip through--and then she was stuck. Her butt was too big.
  44.
  45. cara-- Elbowed that ass. Hard. Once, twice, thrice.
  46.
  47. sewer goblin -- Wynn takes the chance, she runs, and.... and she's stuck. Like a bantha. And Cara, after smacking the camera way, began elbowing the butt. So Luke just... kinda reached out, and opened his fingers. A solid Force Push to plop Wynn through the window. It even did a 'pop' sound. ... Well, that was that. Unfortunately, this could've taken time. So they were more on the clock on. This was going as well as any of his old plans, being completely honest.
  48.
  49. cara-- crept around to the doors-- looked to Luke, and Luke, and Anakin-- maybe now was the right time to get those lightsabers out, right? "Once they're out, we're bound to set off an alarm." Grievous wasn't stupid. A pain in the ass, yes-- but not stupid. For all she knew, there were cameras that they couldn't see, focused on them. Cara had to count on the communications scramblers to fuck up communication, while assuming that Grievous already knew they were there.
  50.
  51. wynn - Needless to say--and yet it's still said--the prisoners were surprised to see a Padawan tumble through their window. Apprehensive, even. Fearful. It didn't take long for a nervous smile and a not-red lightsaber to change their minds. Wynn went to work opening the cage doors.
  52.
  53. cara-- The alarms immediately sounded-- aggressively flashing red lights and all.
  54. Shitshitshit--
  55. Anakin, with all the impulsivity of a teenager with a laser sword, immediately began to hack and slash at the control panel. His and Wynn's combined efforts, opened the door. It was officially herding time--
  56.
  57. sewer goblin-- And when the alarm began blaring, Luke turned his lightsaber. He was going to let the herders herd. he? He was going to start causing some mayhem. So he sped away, at an inhuman speed. Droids tried to babble, but sounds of lightsaber cutting down began being heard. He began clearing the way, helped by Mando and Cassian's sniping. Giving Cara enough time tog et out guns blazing. Luke himself was skating on the ground, jumping, and moving at Master Jedi speeds, never staying on a place for too long. Chaos. Chaos. Sowing chaos for the prisoners to escape.
  58. mentally: crapcrapcrapcrap
  59.
  60. wynn-- So far, so terrible. But at least the evacuees are being evacuated. If nothing else at all goes to plan, please just let them have this. No single file lines here, only crowded stampedes. In her efforts to usher the imprisoned to safety, in the midst of the screaming, the turmoil, something pierced the fog overhanging Wynn's thoughts. A blast from behind. Through the abdomen. So unbearably hot that it almost felt--cold. It didn't register at first, not until she saw the blood on her hands. Not until the unpleasantly warm metallic taste coated her tongue. She sputtered a gasping cough on her short trip to the floor.
  61.
  62. cara-- Leia and Anakin-- quick to think on their feet, flanked the hostages. Anakin, using his lightsaber to deflect blaster bolts, and Leia, using her own blaster to-- in Cara's words-- fuck shit up. The shock trooper aimed her heavy repeater blaster and laid fire upon a crowd, sticking true to the plan. Sticking true to their route. That is, until Wynn collapsed. Shit, fuck. Fuckdamn. They didn't have time for this-- but she wasn't going to leave a kid behind. "You!" She made brief eye contact with a hostage, a large wookie, "Get the girl." With a 'rrrrrrr,' he agreed-- picking her up with tenderness and applying pressure to her wound with his hand. "She has a medpac!" Cara called out over her shoulder, though first aid on the go was a challenge at the best of times.
  63.
  64. luke-- Droids began diverting their forces. Anakin and Leia were working, but the chatter began talking of a Jedi in the open. One they couldn't hit. One that was cutting through them so quick he could be in two places at one. Wynn's wound was a stab in the Force itself. He could only imagine what Order 66 felt like. He was as emotional as his father, but he had faced himself, instead of others, and had come out the other side as more than a Jedi Knight. He then left out the strength that had defeated Darth Vader, and saved Anakin Skywalker. He reached out, and his fingers clenche, his saber hand deflecting a blaster bolt. The wall from where the droids were attack Cara, her group, and the hostages was suddenly jammed by several pieces of debris from the destroyed city. A clear opening. As, outside, the sound of battle raged on.
  65.
  66. wynn oh no bb wynn! Sounds were no longer being processed. It was just noise. And, eventually, it all flattened into nothing. Her eyes were open, still. She could feel the sting of dust and other microscopic debris coating them. It's a very specific sort of thing. The kind of feeling only eyes get. But no matter how hard the thought to close them, they didn't. They only watered. Tears streamed down the sides of her face, cold by the time they reached her stunned ears. No sound, just movement. Motion and white hot pain in what felt like the very core of her being, where the soul might've been kept, where the Force touches. She's trying to say something to the Wookie. Maybe something about her affectionate nickname. Instead it's just blood and spit.
  67.
  68. Shit, they had to turn around-- suddenly blocked. Older Luke and Anakin, were now leading the pack-- with Cara at their backs. Or rather, with her back to them, ready to defend. Younger Luke and Leia at the sides, focused soldiers-- working with a polished synchronicity. It could have been a twin thing, it could have been the force; either way, it was keeping these civilians alive.
  69.
  70. goblin luke He fought side by side with his father, who was younger than him right now. And, yes, he saw the undeniable talent... but also the recklessness, the pride, and the unfulfillment of the promise his dad's incomparable potential held. Hm, so that would explain some things. Now, his style wasn't as pirouette friendly, but he glided from road to droid. It took a few seconds later, and a lot of blaster fire, but eventually..."Sewers! Now!" he yelled, once he felt the civilians had been taken there, and Wynn had been stabilized... probably a bacta stimpak to close any life-threatening wound. She was still not 'ok', but she'll get there. He promised himself no-one would die tonight. As Anakin kept working, Luke turned his saber off, and pulled in a lot of light with both of his hands, only to release it with a Force Push strong enough to fling most droids before him, in a spreading cone, away.
