  1. [14:29] Entering the farmers market he paused at a few stalls, looking around for anything he may need before taking a glance towards Liz off to the side. Humming quietly to himself he walked over towards the girl, offering a wave her way.
  2.
  3. "Hello hello." Smiling as he spoke, taking another look at the closet stall before turning his sights back onto Liz.
  4. (Actaeon)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [14:31] The girl obviously didn't notice the wave, but she startled at the sudden greeting behind her.
  8.
  9. Liz turned in the direction of the greeting wearilly, as she supported herself against her staff.
  10.
  11. "Hello?" She quearied, as she didn't recognize the voice.
  12. (Liz)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [14:34] Pocketing his hands he took a short look at the staff that seemed to be supporting Liz. Frowining slightly, he moved closer as she spoke, eyes moving towards her face.
  16.
  17. "Everything alright? You seem to be leaning on that staff of yours, are you injured?" He replied, a confused look scanning her body for any injuries as he finished speaking.
  18.
  19.
  20. (Actaeon)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [14:38] She raised an eyebrow at that question, she really must've really been looking as worn as she at times felt. Though in fact the only thing that was wrong with the girl was her long stint with little to no food, and her blindness, as her white cloudy eyes suggested.
  24.
  25.
  26. "I'm just tired, that's all, I must say I don't recognize your voice, have we spoken before?" Truth be told, her current profession of walking about picking up sticks and stones weren't good for the wasted muscles of her legs, and they were reaching their limits, which was why she was leaning so heavily on her staff.
  27. (Liz)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. [14:41] And only now had Actaeon spotted the eyes that stared back at him. The white cloudy eyes revealing her blindness to the teen, a slight pause in his breathing as he sighed.
  31.
  32. "Apologies if my voice scared you. We haven't met before, name's Actaeon. A cadet of the Order." A sigh escaping his lips before he started to speak. Hopefully his position within the order would offer some comfort his presence.
  33.
  34. "Do you need help with anything." Halting his words as he took in her bony form. "Perhaps you could come join me for some stir-fry, my treat."
  35.
  36. He had money to spend after all, and perhaps he'd learn something interesting form the woman.
  37. (Actaeon)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [14:46] "Oh, a cadet of the Order." She smiled, in the direction of Acteon's voice, showing her relief. Due to the recent events in the market one was of course a bit weary of strangers in the evening.
  41.
  42. She shook her head at the first question. Though a moment later she nodded too, revealing a stack of rocks and sticks she'd picked up on her walk.
  43.
  44. "If you wouldn't mind helping me to one of the merchants where I can sell these, and I don't mind a little food."
  45. (Liz)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [14:48] Actaeon asks, "Well, I'll lead on then. Do you need an arm, or will you be fine?"
  49. [14:48] Liz says, "An arm, prefered."
  50. [14:50] His introduction of being apart of the Order paying off and allowing her some measure of relief, he nodded to himself, before extending an arm out of her to hold onto as he lead the way.
  51.
  52. "Well then, let's get you to a merchant, and I'll buy some stir-fry." Slowly walking towards a merchant and a stall with a food at a nice price.
  53. (Actaeon)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [14:50] ...Hn?
  57.
  58. Did he zone out? Where was Bean? And Tyr and everyone else that he knew? Wow. They just left him there. With a small sigh the young Knight shook his head and refocused on something else- and thankfully, there were now even more people there that he can introduce himself to, looks like.
  59.
  60. One however, was familiar.
  61.
  62. "Nerin, right? Out shopping? Also hello to you two as well." He'd greet the one Cadet that he saw in passing many times and the other two around Beans stand.
  63. (Duran Novak)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [14:51] Actaeon says, "Here you go."
  67. [14:52] Liz says, "Thank you very much, Cadet Acteon."
  68. [14:52] Actaeon asks, "No problem, a minor matter. So, what's your name again?"
  69. [14:52] Liz says, "I'm Elizabeth, but I just go by Liz."
  70. [14:53] Actaeon says, "Liz, I see. I apologize for before if my voice scared you. I didn't realise you were blind."
  71. [14:53] Liz says, "No worries, it's not the most visible. "
  72. [14:53] {Item} You picked up Stir Fry. Dropped by Actaeon. .
  73. [14:57] Leading the way to his house, he took a short look at the empty farmland outside before opening his door, gently leading Liz inside by the arm before closing it behind himself.
  74.
  75. Once more leading Liz over towards the table, he helped her to take a seat, patting her on the shoulder once the stool was taken, placing the recently brought stir fry in front of her.
  76.
  77. "There's some stir-fry in front of you." Gently reaching down to grab her wrist, moving her hand towards a utensil.
  78.
  79. "Do you have any interest in becoming a magi Liz? Your loss of vision doesn't have to be forever, there's plenty of ways to regain such a thing. I could make a potion in the future that's able to return your vision.
  80.
  81. Or you could stumble upon something while delving into magic." Idly picking away at his food as he spoke, shooting a glance towards Liz every now and then to make sure she was fine.
  82.
  83.
  84. (Actaeon)
  85. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  86.
  87. [15:04] She noticed when they entered the house, the air was clearly different from outside, it was also a much bigger house than the house Adrian rented in the slums. She knew so because the words that Acteon spoke, seemed to hang a little longer in the air, in general all the sounds did.
  88.
  89. After bein gguided to a seat and seated, she ran her hand across the table. It was obviously like the house of superior craftmanship, and she didn't get any splints as she did. After having her hands moved to the utensils she grabbed ahold of them, and found the brim of the bowl and grabbed ahold of it, raising the brim of it to her chin so that she could shovel the food into her mouth. It was after all the easiest way to eat without spilling everything when she couldn't see.
  90.
  91. "A magi, I have thought about it, and it really has been suggested to me. Also do you really think you could restore my sight with a potion? I haven't heard of that happening, but magicis pretty limitless from the sound of it. Regarding myself stumbling upon a solution, a City Watch member suggested I emulate bats."
  92. (Liz)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [15:10] Silently eating his food as Liz spoke, he hummed quietly to himself in thought, a slight chuckle leaving his lips at the thought of the girl before him taking after bats.
  96.
  97. "There's a magic for that, a friend was also looking to gain an affinity for it, but I haven't heard from him for awhile."
  98.
  99. Pushing the emptied bowl to the side, he turned and faced Liz, speaking once again, the topic of alchemy being brought up.
  100.
  101. "Indeed. Potions are limitless in their potential. And I've heard of a potion capable of re-growing limbs. The ultimate regenerative remedy."
  102.
  103. A smile curling up onto his lips as he thought about such a potion, it'd be incredibly useful to have laying around when such a situation called for a potion like that.
  104.
  105. "Also, being a magi would make you stronger. This city isn't kind to the weak, being stronger will only benefit you." He could already imagine this innocent girl being robbed within the slums, an easy target with her inability to defend herself.
  106.
  107. "If you need any help on getting started just ask. I've been having fun teaching people about magic lately."
  108. (Actaeon)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [15:16] She raised an eyebrow at all the information Acteon possessed.
  112.
  113. She shoved the stir-fry into her mouth and savored the taste and warmth it gave her as it settled in her stomach.
  114.
  115. "Potions and magic, but magic to defend myself, and you know how to get me started? I don't even know if I have the potential to learn magic yet, everyone's been rather vague about how I'm supposed to figure that part out.
  116.
  117. Then she shoved another piece of the food into her mouth, and the spoon started scraping the bottom of the bowl, so she placed it onto the table, and smiled in the direction of Acteon's voice.
  118.
  119. "Thank you for the food as well, Cadet Acteon."
  120. (Liz)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [15:21] Tapping his index-finger onto the tables surface he thought about how to go about teaching her to get started on learning magic. A short glance is given to her weak form, a frown emerging on his face as one way was ruled out.
  124.
  125. "Meditation will best fit you for now. Practise before you sleep, and when you have free time. Through that your be able to eventually feel the flow of energy, and shape it when you gain control over it." He said, leaning forward to rest his chin within his palm, elbow on the tables surface.
  126.
  127. "Your magic circuits will be come active once your attuned to magic. From there your work to gain an affinity. You could regain your vision by using your mana to feel out objects around you, or how you said before, like a bat and use sound waves.
  128.
  129. Now. If it's sound magic your be using your voice as medium to cast, at least till you can figure something else out for simple spells." A long winded explanation left his mouth as he stared at Liz, hoping that she paid attention to the short lesson.
  130. (Actaeon)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [15:31] She nodded thoughtfully, it was the first time meditation had been mentioned. It really would from the sound of it be the best way for her to start off her journey to become a Magi.
  134.
  135. "Magic circuits, those are the things mana run through like blood runs through veins?" It was something, she'd heard it mentioned by an Acolyte of the Faith.
  136.
  137. As for the sound magic, she already had an idea, and she patted her staff.
  138.
  139. "I was thinking of using this, and just hitting the ground or tapping something with it, if that was to be plausible medium."
  140.
  141. She was focused, her white clouded eyes fixed on the Cadet as she asked her questions regarding the explanation she'd been given.
  142. (Liz)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [15:42] Pushing himself up from his seated position, he grabbed both bowls and moved them over to the counter, turning back around to answer Liz's question on circuits.
  146.
  147. "Indeed. In the future your be able to close your eyes and visualize your circuit. It lights up when your magic is in use." Humming softly, he made his way over towards Liz, offering a hand out to her.
  148.
  149. "Take my hand, your first meditation I'll watch over you and point out things."
  150.
  151. If the hand was accepted he led the girl over towards a bed, guiding her to sit down.
  152.
  153. "Right, take a spot on the bed. When you're ready clear your mind, breath slowly and focus on nothing. I understand it'll be hard, but your get it eventually." Standing back he watched on, he couldn't help but think due to her blindness she would be better than the average magi when they first started out.
  154.
  155. "I'll be quiet now. Just ask me any questions you have."
  156.
  157.
  158. (Actaeon)
  159. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  160.
  161. [15:51] She reached for the hand, reaching for it as she didn't really know where hte offered hand was, but she found it in the end. Whereas she was led towards somewhere.
  162.
  163. "If I was someone else, I'd raise an eyebrow at being led to the bed by someone, but I'll allow it." She giggled, a girlish sound that belied her weary exterior.
  164.
  165. Liz sat down, and let her enjoy a moment of just pure bliss as she sat on something soft. For all good sitting on benches and stools and chairs, they were of wood, and her rump wasn't exactly the softest of rumps more bone than anything else really, and it hurt to sit on the hard wood for so long.
  166.
  167. Then she closed her eyes, an act that was purely for the sake of Acteon, as for Liz it made no difference if they were open or not. The girl would then slowly try to empty her mind as directed, though her mind seemed to drift towards all the kindness that she'd been shown recently, making it hard to clear her thoughts. Though at least she managed to slow her breathing for now.
  168.
  169.
  170. "Why are you helping me, is it because you're a cadet of the Order?"
  171. (Liz)
  172. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  173.
  174. [15:57] He could only hope none of the people he lived with came home, and saw the scene within the room. They'd surely misinterpret what was truly happening, Liz's short tease from earlier making him realise that perhaps inviting her onto a bed wasn't the best of ideas.
  175.
  176. Arms crossed over his shoulders he stood watch over Liz, patiently remaining quiet as she attempted to meditate and gain an ounce of feeling for the mana that she held within her.
  177.
  178. The sudden question causing him to hum softly as he thought about how to reply, he couldn't simply reply with the truth that he was bored after all.
  179.
  180. "You looked like you needed help." Some truth within his words, the way she leaned on the staff had caused an eyebrow to be raised when he first saw her across the market.
  181.
  182. "And, well. I lose nothing from helping you. Being a cadet has nothing to do with me wishing to help you. I'm also very much interested in how your sound magic will work."
  183.
  184. Question answered he reached forward with a hand, softly tapping Liz's forehead with his index-finger.
  185.
  186. "Continue to meditate again. And once again, call me if you need anything."
  187.
  188.
  189. (Actaeon)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [16:00]
  193. {LOAD GAME}
  194.
  195. [16:00] * You have been awarded 4 Roleplay Points! *
  196. [16:19] She didn't really know how terribly she looked, nor how frame and malnourished she looked, she only knew how she felt. She nodded at his comment and tried to control her breathing once more, and empty her thoughts.
  197.
  198. At first the girl thought the spot where Acteon had tapped her forehead itched, it was an obvious ploy for her mind to distract her. She was usually so aware of the sounds around her, it was another issue. She heard the flame flicker on the torches that lit up the room, it was another thing to supress. She was also acutely aware of the cadet's breathing, another thing to distract her, that would have to be ignored. Soon enough her mind went silent. The silence itself was jarring, the sound of things, the sound of her thoughts were her only companion after all.
  199.
  200. Her breathing suddenly ran ragged, the absence of sounds to distract her. She felt her hand grip the bedsheet she sat on tightly. The sensation of the textile calming her once more.
  201.
  202. Again the wast absence of sound and thought was jarring, but she had to ignore it. Then there it was, a small light? A light, something so bright and shiny that she'd never seen it, nor could identify it since she didn't even know colors, other than people saying she wore white. It was funny that the first color she were to ever see was the color that contained everything. The color was followed by the clearest of sounds, like a bell that rung in her head, but at the same time reminding her of the flapping of bird wings, it was like it was everything at once, at it was all in her mind.
  203.
  204. Then it all returned to darkness, and she was left feeling empty, lost in the dark of her mind once more, and she was acutely aware of the absence of light as she opened her eyes to her dark reality.
  205.
  206. "I think... I saw, I heard... Mana." The girl said solemly.
  207.
  208.
  209. (Liz)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211.
  212. [16:25] Quiet once more, his eyes locked onto Liz as she again attempted to gain some type of connection with her mana. He could only watch on, not truly being able to offer any more support but his presence.
  213.
  214. Her hand clenching the bedsheet caused an eyebrow to be raised, but he didn't speak out. Continuing to remain quiet till she finally spoke and let him know she had made progress, or given up.
  215.
  216. And as time went by she finally spoke, her words causing a tint of admiration to appear within his eyes. She had felt her mana in a good amount of time, beating the average magi by a long time.
  217.
  218. "Congratulations Liz." A smile curling up on his lips at her success, maybe he wasn't a bad teacher after all.
  219.
  220. "This is only the start. From now on meditate before you sleep, and when you wake up. Continue to gain a connection with your mana. And when you believe you are ready. Start to shape your mana. Channel it throughout your body, your feel it coursing through your circuits."
  221.
  222. Passing on the next intructions, he hummed slightly. Thinking about where she could go from there if he wasn't around to offer more guidance on the matter.
  223.
  224. "Do you know any other magi, that you can trust? They could help you with pushing your magic towards sound if I am not around to lend a hand."
  225. (Actaeon)
  226. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  227.
  228. [16:33] Liz listened to Actaeon's explanation, and even replied before she realized that something wet was running down from her right eye, something salty. She knew why instantly. When she had meditated, it had been the first time she'd seen anything, and now it's absence was a loss.
  229.
  230.
  231. "I know an Earth Magi, I'm currently living in his home." She answered sullenly. She may have made progress towards becoming a Magi, but at the same time she had been reminded of her loss, her current state of sitting in perpetual darkness.
  232.
  233. She quickly wiped the tear with her arm, and pushed herself up from the bed, wobbling slightly as she did, as she wasn't supporting herself with the staff, which she had evidently left by the table, as manners obviously had dictated.
  234. (Liz)
  235. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  236.
  237. [16:42] Actaeon's eyes followed the tear as it trailed down her cheek, sighing softly as he waited for her to regain her composure. She had just been given a chance at a new life after all.
  238.
  239. "I see. You're frail." Short and to the point, anyone could tell by looking at the girl she was weak, and clearly malnourished.
  240.
  241. "From now on. Come over and I'll pass you food to eat, or coins to buy yourself something to eat. If you wish to become a strong magi, and grasp your sight back again." Reaching out to support her weak body, waiting till she was calm before moving her back over towards the table.
  242.
  243. "Then your need to be well fed. And never stop practising." Hand softly reaching for hers, and moving it over to allow her to grab her staff.
  244.
  245. "I'd offer you a room in my house, but it's shared with others. But if you need help just ask. I have plenty of money to use, and I'm sure your find some way to pay meback in the future."
  246.
  247. Taking a short look around the room, he turned his attention back onto his guest, a yawn escaping his lips.
  248.
  249. "Apologies. But I'm really tired from today. I will look for you tomorrow, when I wake up. And we can continue then."
  250. (Actaeon)
  251. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  252.
  253. [16:48] The girl grasped a hold of her staff, and rested her weight against it, she realized it must've been terrible to have some strange girl in the house start to randomly tear up.
  254.
  255. "I'm gratefull for your help, I'll keep your advice close to my heart, I'll.. Nevermind, just guide me out, it would be faster than having me show myself out."
  256.
  257. She gave the cadet a smile, though it lacked mirth, despite the kindness he'd shown her. She was still hurting from what she'd seen, and now could not, meditation had truly been cruel, perhaps subconsciously she blamed Cadet Acteon for the cruelty, though it was unfounded.
  258.
  259. (Liz)
  260. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  261.
  262. [16:53] Reaching over to grab her wrist, Actaeon mover her hand so she could once again grab onto his arm, and slowly lead her out of the house and back into the streets of the city.
  263.
  264. "Any time you need help just come over here. Hopefully you have some idea where the house is, I understand it'll be a problem because of your blindness." Frowning slightly as he finished speaking, not too sure how to properly direct the girl about his home.
  265.
  266. "If you head that way, your reach the market. The noise will catch your attention." Stopping her just at the path that would lead towards the market, he raised her hand to point in the direction she was to head.
  267.
  268. "Just follow that way. And Liz, I hope I can see your eyes again in the future when you've regained your sight." A soft smile was sent her way, unknown of course to the blind girl, but his palm patted her shoulder as he moved to leave.
  269.
  270.
  271. (Actaeon)
  272. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  273.
  274. [16:57] With a soft grip on the cadet's arm she was lead out of the house.
  275.
  276. "Thank you for the stir-fry as well, I forgot to mention that it was tasty."
  277.
  278. She didn't know if she'd forgotten, but the talk of magic had been so interesting, that she lost track of everything else. Once outside she was reminded of all the sounds, the subtle sound of insects, birds chirping, her world may truly be dark, but she was never truly alone in it. With that in mind, she could turn towards Acteon and give him a genuine smile.
  279.
  280. "Thank you again, for everything."
  281. (Liz)
