Reasoning: The miasma took control of his body and mind which pushed him forward. The darkest thoughts fueled the power of the cursed monster inside of him. Which wakes it up and makes it push out power to gain control over Kinomari. To turn him into a monster to try and kill the people around him, to make him give up so he can be freed to roam again and cause issues. Wanting to turn the boy who caused him trouble and got him trapped to turn him and his friends into a snack. Fueling itself with the power given to it by the monster fueled by being knocked down.
