- [16:39] IcePickLobotomy "Insolent whelp." She eyes you through the hood, you can make out pale wrinkled flesh in the candlelight
- [16:40] Kasra smiles flatly. "The last time i listened to an unknown voice, it proved to be a mistake, ma'am."
- [16:40] IcePickLobotomy "So there's more than sand between your ears I see."
- [16:42] Kasra "Caution is serving me well. May I ask your name?"
- [17:05] IcePickLobotomy "If you give me your own in return."
- [17:06] Kasra "I can agree to those terms." Kasra waits expectantly, arms crossed behind his back.
- [17:09] IcePickLobotomy "Selena."
- [17:09] Kasra "Kasra."
- [17:10] IcePickLobotomy "Take a seat Kasra, you wouldn't ask a old woman to stand, and I'd like to look you in the eye."
- [17:14] Kasra sits on a pillow about 5 feet away.
- [17:15] IcePickLobotomy It's soft, but you can still get a sense of the cold stone beneath it. "So, what brings you to my door child?"
- [17:16] Kasra "I'm not sure. This is the first structure I've seen in the desert and I decided to investigate. Why are you out here?"
- [17:17] IcePickLobotomy She blinks in surprise "Oh now that is interesting. Most come here seeking me, or rather seeking my sight." She smiles "I've hidden myself away here. I am waiting, and watching."
- [17:18] Kasra "From what I've gathered, there are a few entities out here watching for something."
- [17:19] IcePickLobotomy "with differing levels of malice, but I assure you, I'm not interested in harming you or anyone you know."
- [17:23] Kasra "Okay, I believe its your turn, if we're obeying the classic structure."
- [17:23] IcePickLobotomy "Tell me who you are."
- [17:25] Kasra "Nariman, Kasra. METI Pilot; Crimson Lance, Unit 3."
- [17:26] IcePickLobotomy "Hardly surprised." She waves for you to go next
- [17:27] Kasra "What are you?"
- [17:28] IcePickLobotomy 'Do not ask questions that you do not want to know the answer to child. This will be your only warning, are you sure?"
- [17:29] Kasra "With all due respect, I'm well beyond surprises."
- [17:33] IcePickLobotomy She looks up at you, blood red eyes meeting your own. "I am something old child." The eyes seem endless, you fall into them, unable to breathe "Something cast aside in the aeons when your star was nothing more than interstellar gas." You can't breathe, you can't breathe. Not human, never human. "Replaced with the newer, easier version." There's no malice in those eyes, curiosity, in the way...
- [17:33] IcePickLobotomy ...you might regard a spot of mold in a petri dish. And this is only a shard, a small fragment that dwarfs you, dwarfs everyone. The whole. . . you shy away from it. Instinctively.
- [17:35] IcePickLobotomy She lowers her face back into the hood, and you can breathe again.
- [17:37] Kasra laughs with just a tinge of nerves edging in. "G-good to see dramatics aren't new."
- [17:37] IcePickLobotomy "The last person to see that fled, and I've not seen her again."
- [17:38] Kasra "F-fair."
- [17:38] IcePickLobotomy "Do you want some guidance child? The path before you is treacherous."
- [17:39] Kasra "I'd actually like a glass of water, I think." Kasra is still regaining his composure from glimpsing the infinite. "And yeah, yeah, that sounds nice."
- [17:40] IcePickLobotomy "I have tea, will that suffice?"
- [17:41] Kasra With a little context, one could virtually see the fountain scenario written across Kasra's face as he stammers over the word 'no.'
- [17:41] Kasra "I, uh, nevermind. What's your advice?"
- [17:43] IcePickLobotomy "Continue to the north, and you will find the Library. There you will learn who you really are. Go to the East, and you will enter your Enemies domain, and learn what it is you face." She tilts her head "But to the West. . . Hand me the sword child, you cannot hear her but I have a pity for that foolish girl still."
- [17:46] Kasra "I don't suppose I'll have time to go both ways, will I?"
- [17:46] IcePickLobotomy "I cannot say, there may be time to see some, but not all. Or perhaps it will be a matter of what presses upon you first?"
- [17:48] Kasra "Wait, who I really am? If this is about the role I'm meant to play, don't worry about it, I've gotten over that."
- [17:49] IcePickLobotomy "If you wish to disregard me words so readily who am I to stop you?"
- [17:54] Kasra is thoroughly fed up with his dream by this point. "Listen, its..." *deep breaths, Kasra* "I don't mean to disregard advice, and I appreciate your concern, but you are being intentionally ambiguous and I do /not/ appreciate that."
- [17:54] IcePickLobotomy "They never do, but if I told you the truth outright it would do more harm than good here. better for you to discover it on your own."
- [17:55] Kasra "With all due respect, you also thought I would flee when I saw your face."
- [18:03] IcePickLobotomy "That is true," She smiles "perhaps I misjudged you. What would you say if I told you that Mr and Mrs. Nariman were still alive and well boy?"
- [18:06] Kasra "I'd say I doubt it very much."
- [18:07] Kasra "And that it still doesn't change who I 'really' am."
- [18:07] IcePickLobotomy "Nor do I think I could do anything to change your mind." She sighs "But enough of this, pass me the blade, there is something you need to hear."
- [18:09] Kasra glances between her and the blade before slowly and unsurely walking towards her. At the last stretch he hesitates.
- [18:10] IcePickLobotomy "I have no intention to take this from you. I will return it to you in the same condition I receive it."
- [18:10] Kasra After a moment longer, he deftly reverses the blade to offer her the hilt.
- [18:11] IcePickLobotomy She takes it lays it upon the table with a grimace "Bah, foolish girl. Truly desperate if these are the measures she resorts to." She runs her hand along the length for it "A larger fool I do not know. Tell me, what is she calling herself now?"
- [18:13] Kasra "Ashley. I don't mean to pry, but are you two related?"
- [18:15] IcePickLobotomy She pauses and raises a eyebrow "I've not lied to you, perhaps you should return the courtesy."
- [18:16] Kasra shrugs. "She asked me not to tell anyone about her a long time ago. You seem to know her, but I thought maybe I could keep my word still."
- [18:16] Kasra "Forgive me, I didn't know to stay honest or keep an old promise."
- [18:17] IcePickLobotomy "Ah, I can forgive you then if you keep your word, but I dare say I know her better than you. I know her better than she knows herself even. I simply wanted to know what name she has taken with you, I've not spoken to one of her projects in. . . well the time would have no meaning here I suppose."
- [18:18] Kasra "From the looks of the people I found outside, it's been some time. It's Lily, by the way."
- [18:19] IcePickLobotomy She smiles and laughs "Perhaps she'll stop deluding herself soon then. It's time she's grown up." She strokes the blade again, it starts to give of a pale silver-blue glow. "She may think herself a woman, but for as many men as she's taken to bed she is yet a child still."
- [18:22] Kasra "Do you have a message for her?"
- [18:23] IcePickLobotomy "As if she'd listen to anything I'd say. But if you wish to you can tell her I think she is a greater fool than I thought." She doesn't look up from her work "So tell me, has she taken you as a friend or a lover?"
- [18:24] Kasra "Friend."
- [18:26] IcePickLobotomy "Hmm." She nods "Now, listen carefully boy. For your "Lily" is to the West and. ." Screaming. It's coming the blade, pained tortured screaming. It's Lily. And then it fades "she seems to have overestimated herself it seems."
- [18:27] Kasra "What did you just do?!"
- [18:29] IcePickLobotomy "I simple opened the connection, she pooled some her power in this, and that connection remains to her. But you, you cannot hear her the way I can." She sighs "That girl may be a fool but she hardly deserves whatever fate awaits her. Go to the West and you may save her still. But be warned, if you know yourself and you know your enemy you will never know defeat."
- [18:30] Kasra "Well, it sounds like I have to go west then." Kasra is fidgeting and obviously restraining himself from taking the sword.
- [18:31] IcePickLobotomy She passes the blade back "I do not suggest drawing from this. She may well need that power to survive as she is."
- [18:31] Kasra "How long would I have to travel in either direction. I can't go walking for a week through the desert again."
- [18:32] IcePickLobotomy "The east would be your longest travel, the west the shortest. The north is perhaps shorter than the other two but you would linger there for a time so it counts as between those two."
- [18:34] Kasra "Thank you, I-thank you, I should go."
- [18:34] IcePickLobotomy "You should yes. I would wish you safe travels but we both know that is not in your path. Instead may your enemies be layed low at your feet."
- [18:35] Kasra is hastily making for the door.
- [18:35] IcePickLobotomy The guardian is standing beside it and gives you a small nod as you pass.
- [18:35] IcePickLobotomy And. . .
- [18:35] IcePickLobotomy You dream.
- [18:35] IcePickLobotomy You dream of starless skies and strange vistas.
