  1. Lately, I've been picking up a bunch of RPGs and Action RPGs, some of them as speedruns (as is the case with Persona 4 Golden right now), and I've been having fun with them. That's a good thing! However, there's a personal problem of mine that has severely hampered my enjoyment lately with these types of games. That problem is this persistently recurring feeling that most RPGs are out of my league. The reason I say that is that most RPGs tend to have a lot of information about mechanics to absorb. The best example I can think of for this is Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, where most people who play either of the 2 games don't fully understand the battle mechanics until well into their first playthrough of either game, which is usually around the 40-50 hour mark.

  3. I understand that there's a lot of guides out there for these sorts of things and the communities/speedrunners for such games, some of which I know personally, are very much willing to help out on that front, but the sheer amount of information to take in is still overwhelming to me, given that my forte is very straightforward genres like stealth, action-adventure, horror, and platformers.
