It was another cold night in the middle of October, Danna and her family were sitting in front of the table, holding hands while closing their eyes and praying to Jesus for the food that is on their table. Danna didn't mutter a word while her face seemed unamused, simply holding her family's hands and co-operating to what she claims to be complete bullshit and a pure waste of time while letting the food getting cold. Danna grabbed her plate and went back to her room while completely ignoring her family. She ate in front of her computer desk while working on a new virtual-dimension in the video game she is developing. It has been three hours of excessive coding, however, she was facing issues compiling her script due to a bug she could not find. At some point Danna couldn't take it anymore, the bug looked so simple yet extremely hard to solve that it was literally nerve popping. She grabbed her laptop and went for a walk outside in hope that maybe some fresh air would get some ideas to sprout. The streets were freezing and it felt like it was about to rain. Danna took a seat in a bus station and grabbed a few deep breathes to refresh her heated mind, she re-opened her programming software and started trying to figure out a way to solve the bug she was facing. Unfortunately, nothing came up but feeling of desperation. She minimized the program and tried to realize what is god damn wrong with it, there must be a way to fix it after all! It was not coming so easily so she began daydreaming which led at some point to sink into deep thoughts. It felt like everything around her went black while she was staring at her wallpaper; which displays Aiko (her favorite anime character) thumbing up. The image felt so meaningful for a second that it almost felt like it was whispering her "Yesss, yess keep going", Danna kept staring at it and at some point she found it so inspiring that it made her go "full force" at thinking outside of the box. She started visualizing the dimension she's trying to develop, attempting to realize what would go impossible if the script was running on reality. She started imagining what would happen in each line of the script, one after another, as in one sudden moment her worldview just shattered apart. She felt like she found a "bond" between reality to the code, she could literally make a connection between the game she is trying to develop to reality itself, realizing everything is just data. For some reason it just all made sense and felt so real and Danna couldn't be more surprised. She kept looking at Aiko's image for a while but it didn't change, just kept thumbing up at Danna, but she felt a something towards it. Aiko symbolized her some kind of validation, made her she's on the right path. A moment later Danna raised her gaze from the screen and she got out of the illusions, everything around her got back to normal and she was no longer daydreaming. But... for some reason she found herself home sitting at her computer desk. She looked to the right and to the left with a shocked facial expression while trying to realize how did she get back home. The curiosity was simply irresistible, she felt like she is going insane. "How is this even possible? am I losing my mind?, but.. it was literally REAL.. I.. I was literally outside", she went to the bathroom, washed her face then got back to her laptop and opened her programming software. Danna wasn't so confident about it, but for some reason everything makes sense now, she started writing a code that was quite similar to the 3D-dimension she was making. However, it wouldn't look so familiar to a regular developer. In a matter of fact, she was kind of surprised herself of the way she came up with such a weird code. She pressed on the compile button and a window popped up, showing what the USB-Camera sees and displaying digits that determined the distance between the Camera to the closest object. Her mind was blown, it's a cheap-ass USB camera she stole from school, it doesn't have the ability to do such things and now it's working like military equipment. The ideas started rushing through and one led to another, she started developing more programs that were using for different purposes and at some point she found herself with a whole collection of them. She even installed some modifications to her cellphone.
Later that week at 3:21 PM Danna was working on a new invention as she heard somebody knocking on her door. She made her way to the door to welcome the guest as she suddenly saw a thin looking guy with blue hair carrying his laptop. He got into the house before she managed to mutter a word, "It's nice to meet you Danna, close the door. We gotta talk" he said while making his way towards the kitchen. She couldn't be more surprised and said "Yes, and who are you supposed to be?". He laughed a bit and replied, "O1v3r0z it is, but feel free to call me Oliver". Danna wasn't sure what's going on but he was surely full of surprises and mystery, she closed the door and duo sat at the kitchen table. Oliver opened his laptop and said "Okay so it seems like you've made a damn nice progress there" while hacking into her computer. A few seconds later the laptop displayed Danna's screen. "Hey, what are y..", "Shh, it's alright. I'm here to help you progress further, newbie" he said while opening his programs and introducing Danna to things that were way more advanced. The both started sharing their experience and switching ideas, eventually Oliver came with the offer to be Danna's guide if she would work at his company which is currently working on developing a new Windows Interface. Danna has definitely accepted the sudden offer. "Good" he said, and not a minute later he started ranting about the Virtual Adepts and it's unknown roots, The many years war between the Council to the Technocratic Union and most importantly to keep everything as natural as possible after painfully describing the burning effects of the Paradox.
Two years later Oliver's company offered Danna to sign on a contract that would offer her residence and a company car in Palomino Creek, which is bringing us to the present when Danna is trying to blend in.
