  7. +cabadejo __ I read your message soon after you wrote it but have waited until now to reply without distractions! The voice which everyone seems to find acceptable is "Amy". Although I do like the Microsoft voices ("David" is clear and understandable) a number of people have pointed out that they don't want to hear to a robotic voice and I don't blame them. And so fair enough - _those voices have been ruled out._

  15. What I will do is tweak the "Amy" voice so that it becomes distinctive and unique to Lesta. That way - if anyone else also uses the "Amy" voice they won't risk getting associated with me. One person had suggested I speed up the voice a little but I am inclined - _if anything_ - to slow it down a smidgen for public consumption. That way everything can be heard and understood without any problems.

  23. And so the next thing I do will be to make a few slight variations and post them as an unlisted video and get your opinion as to which variation to use. *What you choose will become the voice of Lesta.* It'll be your call - _no pressure!_

  31. I am familiar with both of the voices Still Speaking Out uses (I have several more because long ago I collected dozens of TTS voices but they aren't currently installed). You mentioned about adding a lot more punctuation. Yes - I am aware of the need for that - the need to go overboard with it! The text that ends up being read by the TTS voice needs to look somewhat different to normal text that we read.

  39. With this sample video (although it went for ~20 minutes) I didn't make any effort to get the pronunciation right or to fix the delays between words/sentences. *With the final video I will make sure to get all of that right.* Where it is needed I'll write words out phonetically. I'll make sure there is a satisfactory delay between words and sentences so that nothing is rushed.

  47. Overall - it looks like "Amy" is the winning TTS voice. As I say - I'll put together a brief video (~1 or 2 minutes) with a couple of variations of "Amy's" voice. *If you can think of any reason to NOT use the "Amy" voice or that I should go with another voice - now is the time to say so!*

  55. Finally - I am slow to put together the final video because I need to get it right. *It is going to be a comprehensive video that will make everything else I have done obsolete.* (And in hindsight - getting that community strike when I did and then having it removed - _upon your suggestion of appealing it_ - now seems rather more like "fate"! A last ditch effort to prevent me from posting what is to come.)

  63. Normally I rush about the place focusing on 7 different distractions at a time but I need to focus on just one thing at a time and getting it right. I'm not used to going this slowly about things. I'll definitely post the finished video as unlisted and get an opinion from you and the usual witnesses before making it public - just in case there is an error spotted or something obvious that I've omitted.

  79. That means I need to ease off the "crazy colours" and resist the urge to pack in as much text on the screen as is possible! It will be a Lesta video - _but it will be Lesta "evolved"_ - with positive adaptations. It probably means I won't have the same introduction and outro segments.
