  3. Built as a country mansion\, the mansion is designed in a late-Gothic Revival style overlaying a formal symmetrical plan. Its castle-like appearance is captured by its substantial masonry-work involving sandstone trimming\, large Tudor windows\, crenellated rooftop and other beautifully crafted details. The building itself is over two-hundred feet long and one-hundred feet wide with a turret that is eighty feet high. A wall surrounds the estate also built of sandstone.%r%rThe mansion is the centrepiece of a substantial estate consisting of curated landscapes\, a courtyard with elevated patio leading to the entrance of the mansion itself. One will also note the quaint moss which tends to adhere itself to the surfaces of the estate including the mansion itself providing a distinctive academic feel to the educational facility.%r%rOther amenities include an outdoor swimming pool\, a basketball court\, a hedge maze\, detached garages\, and access to Breakstone Lake. All of which are often in use by students outside of class hours.%r%rBeyond the curated grounds\, the mansion is surrounded by sparse woodland populated primarily be varieties of Oak\, Amelanchier\, and native flowering Dogwood. The estate grounds are particularly breathtaking when the later blooms.

  7. The main doors leading to the foyer are made of oak with brass door handles featuring Scottish rampant lions. The stone carving above the door features the name Xavier surrounded by Scottish thistle. The bronze doorbell figure has a definite Art Nouveau influence.%r%rAs one enters\, the Grand Hall is Elizabethan\, or Tudor Revival\, in style\, featuring half-paneled half-plaster walls\, vaulted ceilings\, heavy oak beams and a pointed arches pattern which runs up and down the banisters\, across the minstrel gallery\, and above the stairwells. The stone fireplace is carved from rose colored sandstone brought from Flagstaff\, Arizona. It is the first of seven wood burning fireplaces found on the castle's first floor - all of which are designed to be inefficient - because the building is actually heated by a modern HVAC system\, though at its creation\, it used a novel steam-based method.
