  1. A World Without Oil
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. A world without oil would not function properly. If all the oil in on the Earth were to suddenly vanish overnight, it would be disastrous . Well, at first that is.
  6.
  7. If the world was instantly deprived of all oil, it would be mayhem. All the automobiles would be stuck. No way to move, nowhere to go. Millions of jobs would be lost. Factories would shut down. Oil rigs, and oil refineries would also close. Businesses would suffer. Grocery stores would not receive shipments. Airports would shut down. It would be chaos. It would be a worldwide crisis. The world would go into, what some might call, shock. The entire world population would be devastated. But that would change in time.
  8.
  9. It could be years, possibly decades later, but I feel that eventually, we would develop a way of life without oil. Scientists would discover other forms of energy, such as natural gas, solar energy, wind, and possibly even steam. With years of research and development, we could have 100% solar powered cars, gas powered planes, and maybe even homes getting their electricity from wind turbines. While it may take years to develop these alternative fuel sources, it will be much better for the environment.
  10.
  11. Oil is a hazardous product. It causes extreme problems. Burning oil is releasing materials that burn through the atmosphere. Also, oil rigs have been notorious for spills, explosions, and other awful accidents. By switching to cleaner, safer, energy sources, it would be better for the environment. There wouldn’t be any more oil leaks, or rig explosions. It would be safer, cleaner, and even more plentiful.
  12.
  13. As we all know, oil is a non renewable resource. It takes millions of years for oil to be naturally produced. Sun light will always be available (but not on cloudy days). Natural gas is also a non renewable resource, but unlike oil, there are ways of producing it. Even though methane gas (natural gas) is a fossil fuel, there is technology available that allows us to carry out processes that produce methane.
  14.
  15. So in conclusion, a world without oil would be terrible...For the first few years. But in general, a world without oil would be a cleaner world, and a safer world. Oil spills would be a thing of the past. Solar energy, and wind turbines would be a thing of the present. The environment would thrive. A world without oil, is a better world.
