  1. Leseid, God of Proliferation
  2. An example of a mortal ascending to godhood while still alive, Leseid was a human who discovered a new fuel source on his home plane and used it to power his larger than life devices in which previous fuel sources wouldn’t suffice. His war machines, each known as L.A.B.E. (Leseid Autonomous Battle Engine) Mark 1 and ascending, were his crowning achievement, each self repairing combat focused machines that over time developed their own personalities. They were the key reason for the defeat of The Encroaching, an outerplane hivemind of creatures that had the ability to incorporate the genetic material from their opponents to initiate accelerated evolution to adapt countermeasures. With no genetic data to incorporate, The Encroaching never adapted beyond their base forms required for planar travel, allowing the LABE units to defeat the larger but un-adapted forms of The Encroaching. News of the LABE defeating the Encroaching lead to the Greater Planar Collective adding Leseid’s plane to their planar web, allowing for the trade of LABE units in return for other advanced technology that Leseid used to further enhance his newer LABE units. These LABE became synonymous with hope for those affected by The Encroaching, and in his 80th year Leseid ascended, with the emotions of so many people that normally would have been split between his machines if they were living instead going to him. His LABE achieved a level of divinity, becoming the machine equivalent of angels, and using his power Leseid cut the planar webs that connected The Encroaching to all other planes, isolating it permanently.
  3. Then, in what many considered an extreme act of cruelty, Leseid rendered the fuel that powered his machines inert, along with any other power sources similar in strength found on the other planes he could reach. He claimed that his tools were for war, and with no common enemy to fight, the planes would fight with each other. His LABE units, powered by divinity, remained powered, but the weaker but much more numerous robots armies scattered across the planes became large paperweights.
  4. It is now several millennia later. Most of the machines have been salvaged for parts; though with no strong enough power source, the denizens of the planes have taken to creating more primitive weapons with them, a regression in technology.
  5. However, everything is about to change: in the home plane of Leseid, a large crack reverberates from the sky, and space itself shatters. A corpse, nearly the size of the entire plane falls, though somehow not a single rock is disturbed, the body as light as a feather. Standing atop this giant, with his blade plunged down in Leseid’s heart, is a figure many planar citizens would recognize from their statues and murals: LABE Mark 1, the most experienced and most technologically advanced of the LABE units. Drawing his blade out of the corpse of Leseid, he remarks to himself, though no one can hear it, he says
  6. “No one can cage war: it always finds a way out. Let your blood mark the start of a new age of carnage, let it be the very fuel that powers the new engines of destruction.”
  7. The wound left by LABE Mark 1’s blade spills Leseid’s divine blood; unusually, it is the same color as the fuel source he found millennia ago, though it has a slight florescence to it, to mark its divinity. Later that day, the blood is still flowing from the small sword sized wound but the ocean of blood below it seems to be growing faster than the blood spilling out: alchemists have already discovered the blood increases volume on its own and is extremely combustible, with the ocean of blood a spark away from destroying the entire plane. Then, as if spoken into existence, a stray spark of a man’s campfire is carried hundreds of yards into the blood. The last thing people saw was a flash of light so bright even the heavens paled in comparison. The explosion was so powerful it shattered the plane and sent bits of Leseid’s blood and flesh to all those connected to it, including a previous severed connection to a plane long isolated.
