- The first of October in the year two hundred sixteen of the Sun Calendar.
- Word has finally reached us that the Alma-Kinan, Duck Village and Karayan hath both promised there support to us in the Chisha Village. This is welcome news indeed for the Chisha people do not come from fighting stock. At the present we have around three thousand men under arms, most of those are archers, that while good in defense are no useful in offensive operations. Giving this information I have ordered the people to start building earth and wood works that form the main defensive line toward the center of the village.
- The lay of the land is in are favor here, high mountains that reach high into the skies guard are left and right wings. Behind us a bending crescent in the deep flowing Christa River offers a natural barrel of defense. Despite the flowing water offering a nature defense, I have order one of the senior commanders of the Chisha Army to take one thousand of there most skilled rangers and set several ambush points in the tall reeds, cattails and marsh grass that grows in abundance in the marshland.
- The other two thousand men are to form a defense position at the earth works. I am aware of the possible risk, and should the attacking units close rank there will be little in the way preventing a slaughter. But we must do are best. With a little luck and the proper motivation I hope these farmers turned solider will let lose enough arrows to keep the attacking units way.

- Lady Chris of the Zexen Common wealth and one of the six knights appeared at the outer edges of the defense line. Six hundred elite Zexen heavy swordsmen came with her. While not the grand force I was expecting I welcome it. Around midmorning the main bulk of the Karayan forces arrived, two hundred of them where commanded by a fellow by the name of ‘Beecham’ another two hundred where under the command of Chief Hugo, Another two hundred where under the command of a fellow named ‘Jimba’ and finally around three hundred where under the command of clan elder Lucia.
- The Karayan forces where divided and positioned on Left and Right wings of the main line. It was a queer sight to behold I must say. The Karayan fighters wear little at all when compared to Chisha Archers. All of the men seemed to be armed with nothing but well homed short shorts . Armor varies among the fighters though most wear nothing but leather tunics and shorts with form fitting black trousers to guard the area bellow the waist.
- The Chisha on the other hand wear clothing spun from cotton and can often been seen dressed in Jowstone Fashion. The bulk of the Chisha is armed with long curving bows that can piece the hide of any beast that lurks in the tall mountain peeks flank the village. I have little doubted that the fine steel arrow heads will piece the plated amour of a Harmonia solider of second class citizenship that forms the bulk of there forces. Nor do I hold any doubts that the arrow will break apart the tunics of chain mail wore by the pressed third class and fourth class ones as well/ We are fighting for are freedom here. Each man how holds a blade, pike or bow is a freeman, no king of chief has commanded him to fight for us, he is here at his own accord.

- Death and confusion hang in the cool night air tonight. The hills outside the village are littered thick with the bodies of fallen Harmonia soldiers. They came at us fast, expecting to meet in the way of arms and we turned them back. The main attack came this morning around ten. Around two thousand Harmonia pikeman had formed up in broad attacking sections around twenty five men wide and four deep. With there banners flapping in a cool morning breeze and the sound of drummers beating away they started toward the town. Once they came within range are archers let lose a hellish volley upon there head.
- The sky was almost darken by massive volley of arrows being released upon there head. Soon there screams could be heard and many of them fell, pinned to the ground by the long hunting shafts of the Chisha arrows. But they kept coming and coming at us, before they reached are earth works I ordered the bowmen to pull back and form a defensive line behind the swordsmen and spearmen. If they broke through are first line, they would be greeted with a second volley of arrows directed directly at there chest. The Zexen where the first ones to draw blood. There good tempered swords cut through the Harmonia armor like a warm knife through a stick of sweet cream butter.
- The outer edges was a completed mess… The Karayan fighters jumped upon the oncoming attacked and in a most savage way they completed attacked them. Arms and legs came off, friend and foe fell right along side each other. Some men even screamed out a blood chilling scream as they rushed toward the oncoming assault. The noble Karayan fighters fought like men possessed by spirits.
- Though if my understanding of Harmonia is correct, have gained nothing from this victory. True of two thousand attacks around fifteen hundred lay dead upon the fields. And are losses right now stand at around three hundred Karayan fighters killed in battle and around two hundred Zexen Swordsmen say five hundred in total I fear they where only testing us. Another attack is bound to come soon, the war is far from over. But I feel we can stop them here.
- The Fourth of October in the year two hundred sixteen of the Sun Calendar.
- It seems another bloody battle was fought to the forest north of us. A Zexen commander by the name of Wyatt Lightfellow, was on his way here with enforcements and much needed provisions. By chance he clashed with three columns of Harmonia scouts. The Zexen Rangers defending the supply train, where in there element I’m told and the battle was quick and bloody. Of four hundred Rangers around two hundred where slain. The bodies of Six hundred Harmonia where recovered from the forest floor.
- Looking at the numbers I can say we are winning the this war, if you can call it a war. Sure other elements are coming together to support us in are cause, even the very neutral Kaana Clan of the mountains have offered a small token force to show they still support the rights of the grassland. But can we hold out till the promised aid arrives. The reason I ask this is because going on what are scouts say the main bulk of the Harmonia army has reached are tiny village. Five thousand men divided into two groups. One of the two groups has taken a position on the hills over looking the village. The other has looped around are rear and is making camp by the marsh’s.
- It will be foolish to waste are troops in a all out frontal assault, even if such a attack resulted in a victory and a completed route of the enemy the forces to are rear would be fresh and ready to bounce. We must wait and hope the gathering forces of the Zexen Common Wealth and the Kaana Clan can be enough to break through the defenses. There even talks of other small groups joining in are cause.
- The Fifth of October in the year two hundred sixteen of the Sun Calendar.
- The marsh behind us has been reduced to nothing more than ash and dying embers. The attack came at dawn and by afternoon the battle was lost. Of the noble force of one thousand brave rangers that defended that position only around two hundred now rest within the confines of are make shift walls made of packed dirt. Eight hundred noble men fell defending the marsh. I should have shifted more troops to that are, but at alas I was paralyzed by fear. Even if one company was shifted from the front of the village the line would be weak enough to break. We must thank the gods they did not use there numbers or they could have crushed us like a grape. Though I can take comfort in knowing there victory was brought at a high price. Twelve hundred of there number now sleep forever in that marsh land.
- I have no idea what waits us now. Soon I fear the enemy will storm across the river and then there is nothing to stop them. More and more tents appear each day. It seems like the whole of there vast empire has been mobilized to take are lands. How can we just a small village hold out. I doubt we can hold out much longer. I‘ve recommended the rations be cut in half.
