  1. If you don't know of my project Eva: Warrior Princess, this won't make much sense to you. But this is the best way to communicate this message to my followers, few as they may be.

  5. It's been a wild few months, hasn't it? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sometimes to progress, you must be set back. You must have some questions. Let me answer them:

  7. -Q: I don't like where this is going. Is E:WP still in active development?
  8. -A: Yes... And no. While developing E:WP as far as it's gotten I became displeased with the more hard-coded limitations RPGMaker presented. Countless hours of fun development became slaving away at a keyboard with tired eyes and a frustrated demeanor, pounding on the keys like they were keeping the secret to my success in silence. With this I have decided to switch game engines to GameMaker Studio. However as you can imagine I'll have to relearn to build the wheel, then reconstruct it with original (albeit better quality) parts, this time from reference instead of handed to me on an $80 platter. This puts E:WP in limbo at best, development hell at worst.

  10. -Q: Surely you know this won't solve all your problems, don't you?
  11. -A: There is no perfect solution to anything in the computer world, only the better and the worse. With RPGMaker, every solution I came up with to overcome a hard-coded limitation presented even more problems. Thus, I have determined that GameMaker better suits my needs. This isn't the first time a developer has done so. Va-11 Hall-A also switched to GameMaker after determining Ren'Py, another limited experience, was not enough, though admittedly, they also had a lot to relearn and reinvent. Undertale was made with GameMaker, too. With any luck, my experience will be just as fruitful.

  13. -Q: You can't use the RTP and DLCs anymore. What will you do about that?
  14. -A: An excellent question. I am a bit upset about the money I spent, but I plan to rebuild a similar, non-infringing asset pack using the RTP as a vague reference.

  16. -Q: What about the "other project" you mentioned?
  17. -A: "Become Death" is the name of said project. It is in development, proving to be more complex than originally thought. I am, however, undeterred. I will not comment further on its completion.
