In Cummings et al.’s (2002) summary article reviewing three empirical studies on
online social relationships, it was found that CMC, especially email, was less effective
than FtF contact in creating and maintaining close social relationships.



Two of the three reviewed studies focusing on communication in non-Internet and Internet relationships mediated by FtF, phone, or email modalities found that the frequency of each modality’s use was significantly linked to the strength of the particular relationship (Cummings et al., 2002).

The first one states the author and the year in the beginning of the sentence so it doesn't need to have it at the end. However, the second one doesn't have the citation at the beginning but instead the end were it uses parenthese.

Six or more authors. Always use et al

and when it's three to five authors after you cite it once, you then use the first name and et al

1) All lines after the first entry should be 1/2 inch from the left margin (hanging indentation)

2) Authors names go last name first

3) Reference lists should be alphabetized by last name of the first author.

4) If you have two sources from one author organize them from earlies to most recent (oldest to newest)

5) Maintain the punctuation and capatilazation from the original title.

6) Do not italize, underline, or use quotes around short stories or essays

7) Italizie titles of longer works similar to books and journals.
