  1. [21:41] Saba Sugar asks, "Nyx, a word?"
  2. [21:41] Nyx says, "Hrm."
  3. [21:42] Nyx asks, "And what is this about?"
  4. [21:57] These days, Ezmara's chieftain had found himself smiling less and less. Was it the effect of the burns that were spread across his body, or perhaps it was simply an effect of the job. The stress of it finally catching up to the man who simply wished to smile and lead his people.
  5.
  6. And yet, here he was leading someone he considered a close friend out, and away from Gehenna to confront him about something he hoped against hope wasn't true. That Nyx, the demon who had spent their entire life fighting against that bastard Belia, had fallen to his corruption.
  7.
  8. A hand would be pressed against his side, as his tired green eyes rested on the Kaor.
  9.
  10. "How long have we known each other Nyx? It feels like I've known you since I was about this tall." He'd take his one free hand, and hold it about two, or three feet above the ground, before slowly shaking his head.
  11.
  12. This hurt, this hurt the man so badly to even say these words, to even accuse someone he considered family, someone who had helped rule the tribes with him, of something this foul.
  13.
  14. "Bah, I'll cut straight to the point. No need to dance around it." A firm nod is given, before he continues, sorrow filling his voice. "I've heard rumors of... Nay, not rumors. I've heard word that you've fallen..."
  15.
  16. He hesitates for a moment, as if the thought of even saying these words harmed him, but nevertheless he pushes forward, like he always does.
  17.
  18. "That you have fallen to Belial, and after all your years fighting against him, you've become what you hated most."
  19.
  20. As the words left his lips, the sorrow, and apprehension that covered his face, simply faded away. In it's place was a the unyielding resolve of a chieftain.
  21. (Saba Sugar)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23. [22:13] Sometimes the demon did like to reflect on the past. What would have been..and what simply could be, What if they stayed on the path of the stars, what if they attempted to reach out? But there they were..cursed. The unyieling finally yielded. Broken, by the very stars that had abandonded them. After all...you may only live so long to be a true help, before you fall. And fall did the demon do, they simply fell...
  24.
  25. Hard.
  26.
  27. Amass of rolling eyes soon trailed upon the movements of the chieftian before them. To be moved so far away from the square..and to be simply brought out away from them with their hand moved to their blade, perhaps it was a simple spar. Yet even the whispers within them knew it was a lie..a woefully biting lie.
  28.
  29. "Word..word that we've fallen? Fallen from the path we took to keep fighting against the corruption? You think we..we in all our cosmic might would do the unthinkable? We..." Silence followed them after that. Words..seemingly lost upon them. Stuck in that very same tar they coated themselves within.
  30.
  31. We have not fallen.
  32.
  33. Would have been the perfect thing for them to say, to restrain just as before but now? Now in its full ire they were free. No longer bound to a secret. No longer bound to..anything. Free to worship as long as they chose to, even longer if they survived the long..long nights to come. They had no longer felt..trivial human emotions. Perhaps it was humanities sickness that claimed them..but no one would ever truely find the reason the kaor of the stars burned the very thing they stood for.
  34.
  35.
  36. "We've...fallen. This world is a blight, Its a plague..yet so are we it seems. No one truely knows how it feels, to have everything stripped away, every blight, every curse casted upon us. To hear the whispers day after day..no one could save us, no one would. We would have been cursed and casted off to die. Yet..."
  37.
  38.
  39. There was a small dip in their voice. An almost..childlike voice soon filtered through, yet horrifically different. A distorted version of a teen someone where among their seventeeth birthday...Or something close to it.
  40.
  41. "We..Are restrained no longer.."
  42. (Nyx)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44. [22:28] That was the answer he didn't want to hear, the one thing the chieftain had been hoping to not hear, he heard, and it hurt. A quick shake of his head is given, as he moved his hand from his hip, reaching back towards his weapon, as he slowly shook his head left to right.
  45.
  46. "I had really hoped it wasn't true. Seriously, from the bottom of my heart I had hoped that it was something said to simply rile up the tribes, and to drive a stake through our unity, and yet..."
  47.
  48. Another shake of his head was given, as his weapon was brought forward, his hands gripping the handle of it tightly, as he readied himself for the inevitable battle. Not just any battle, a fight that could be his very last.
  49.
  50. "I'm not even sure how I should be feeling right now, everything's just so... Fucked."
  51.
  52. As he spoke a shroud of vibrant gold energy burst forth from around him, as he pushed his mana to their very limit, before working from convergence point to convergence point, syphoning out as much mana from them as he could, before he weaved his mana into his bloodstream, allowing it to mix with his adrenaline.
  53.
  54. The shroud slowly faded away, until only a second layer of golden skin remained, as excess mana began to pour from his eyes, the chieftain would simply stare that the Kaor, before speaking.
  55.
  56. "You may be onto something, the world might be a blight, a plague, and all that other shit you said, but falling to that monster, and doing what he says ain't gonna change that. Hel, it's only gonna make it worse, but... Yer beyond reasoning with at this point, ain't ya?"
  57.
  58. Flames began to build up around the man, as they began to mix with his energy, turning them into a vibrant gold color, as they slowly began to spread throughout the fields, tearing through the grass, trees and bushes that might have remained there.
  59.
  60. "You may no longer be restrained, but that ain't gonna stop me from putting you into the ground, permanently."
  61. (Saba Sugar)
  62. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  63.
  64. [22:39] They had no need to hide their true selves. After all, They were far too free. A hope had died today, Perhaps maybe two...But beyond that? They felt only the smallest bit of remorse.
  65.
  66. For the sole fact that they might not walk away from this, To only be given a gift..then having it stolen away from them.
  67.
  68. "This world, its human nature..its in flames. And this peace we attemt to cling to? There will only be one true victor. And thats who holds all the pieces to this cursed land...we're simply going to remove those pieces altogether. No winner, No victor, only those who can find...freedom."
  69.
  70. A static call soon could be visibly heard overhead. As the very clouds soon covered the stars and all thats left was the glare of the moon. And even then it glowed a horrific vermillion. Sweeping over the field until it landed starkly on Nyx.
  71.
  72. And with it the tar from them bubbled violently. Their own tar rats spilling forth in a new light, A crimson light. Tainted cosmic spilled forth from them even as the a creeping mist escaped them after all. The end of it all...a begining or the very of something thats so very hunted.
  73.
  74. "Come then, Chieftian of Ezmara. Let us free you from this mortal coil...Forever.""
  75.
  76. (Nyx)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [22:57] The golden flames of the chieftain tore through the ground, clearing through anything that may, or may not have gotten in his way. Though the flames weren't entirely unopposed. The flames that burned so brightly with his exorcist light, were met by a foul red cosmic energy. Gold met red, and red was winning.
  80.
  81. A small orb of energy began to form in his hand, as he darted across the battlefield, sliding through his flames, using the embers from them to fuel his body, to prevent him from collapsing, when by all means he should have simply fallen over.
  82.
  83. With a flick of his free hand, constraints of energy would be sent over the demon, slowing him down for a moment. Which allowed the berserker, to rush in and release the energy he had stored in his palm, sending the Kaor spiraling back, all while buying himself enough time to charge a small beam of energy.
  84.
  85. And in typical Saba fashion, the beam was of course, coming from his mouth.
  86.
  87. The wave of golden energy was released, tearing through not only the red cosmic energy that threatened to tear his body apart, but through his flames, until it eventually crashed into the Kao, and yet...
  88.
  89. It wasn't enough.
  90.
  91. The Kaor, clad in Belial's embrace, survived the attack. "Fuck..."
  92.
  93. Before he could even focus on mounting another attack, the chieftain glance up in the air for a split second, to see something rather... Well, horrific.
  94.
  95. The sight of several orbs of tainted cosmic energy being sent onto the battlefield, and despite his best efforts to avoid the attacks, he simply couldn't, the insane amount of cosmic energy that littered the ground, crept up on him, tearing his body apart. His knees buckled, and he simply collapsed for a moment.
  96.
  97. Get up you sack of shit, you have people waiting for you back in Gehenna. You can't die here, not like this.
  98.
  99. A quick shake of his head is given, as he quickly pushes himself back up to his feet, his green eyes, now covered by golden mana stared daggers at Nyx.
  100.
  101. Blood is spat out of his mouth, before the chieftain simply cracks his neck, before speaking."Is that all you've got? Bah, I'm barely getting started."
  102.
  103. And once more, his golden flames would spread throughout the battlefield, aiming for Chieftain of Atl.
  104. (Saba Sugar)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [23:11] Just like once before, They had fought side by side...and now they stood at each others throats. A sacrifice that felt..wrong. It all felt wrong, but it felt so..good. Golden flames scorched the very ground as their mass of eyes watched with a toxic glee as they ate at the celestial taint at the ground. But crimson was once again devouring all that remained in its path. Just as they once consumed the starlight with bathed the demon. It soon ate at the holy flames.
  108.
  109.
  110. Yet they were chieftians of two different tribes for a reason. And that much..was apparent. The land was stained with even more tainted celestial creations. Even the tar rats seemed to drag it with them, blanketing the land yet..the chieftian wouldnt fall. Pushing themselves out of harms way by the verge of splitting themselves they were found to be binded instead by the binds of energy. Bathed in amass of holy flames as they let out a torrent of distorted screams.
  111.
  112.
  113. But it wasnt enough against the newly blessed.
  114.
  115. Before the chance of another attack from the chieftian could continue the demon raised their hand to the sky, Vermillion mist spilling forth as they called down the stars from above, yet it wasnt stars they called upon. It was the very tormented power of belial they drew from. Each orb of celestial energy slammed into the ground releasing a scream with each impact, yet they all seemed...joyful. And yet thats all it did, eat and continued to eat away at the chieftian as they buckled under the fury of the stars themselves.
  116.
  117. All the assortment of eyes stared forth as the demon drew itself up again, spent but still fighting on due to the blessing of chaos. A crude smile graced their face as they once more stared at the chieftian rising to their feet.
  118.
  119. "Almost out of time little chieftian, Come then. Come and see the last sight you shall see, And that..we promise will be of the tribe you lead until your end."
  120. (Nyx)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122. [23:13] ** Nyx has inflicted an injury upon Saba Sugar. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  123. [23:28] There was so much wrong about the fight, but everything felt..distorted. Disgrunted, and everything felt..light. As if the essence of their guilt vanished the moment the stars fell from the sky. Blessed by the moon, and powered even farther on it. They had become a monster.
  124.
  125. The monster..they wished they hadn't become.
  126.
  127. They wished at one point to turn back, to remove the tides of sand..yet they simply continued on. Intoxicated on the very feeling of being welcomed. Welcomed...home. After all their hard fighting, They were simply..rewarded now. Rewarded for being loyal to a cause. But their flashback ended there. And soon came back the roaring fire and the whispered screams as the tainted celestial magic came out once more.
  128.
  129. "We warned you...we told you..That when you've lived as long as we have...you end up the villan..and now? We will keep true to our promise. We shall free you from this cursed mortal coil..but first, you will get to witness your tribe once more."
  130.
  131. Tendrils of corrupted celestial might soon rose from the very ground that continued to lay scattered about, they soon lifted the chieftian from the ground, Turning them towards the land of Gehenna once more. Their promised home..a place they both grew up in, But now? Neither of these two would ever return to it. Neither would return to the fond waters that scattered it.
  132.
  133. Yet below the chieftian? Pillars of vermillion soon began to bloom underneath. Only held back by the command of the Atl chieftian, The Ex-chieftian..blessed by the moon, betrayed by the stars.
  134.
  135. "Dear chieftian of Ezmara...Give your last words to the winds so they may reach your people. You of all..deserve what we shall bring the least. Yet like all those whocome to us with fangs bared..you must fall."
  136.
  137. Though once those words truely did leave the chieftians mouth, the eitheral bloom of the vermillion lights would erupt from underneath. Bathing the Ezmaran chieftian in a crimson visage as they were consumed by chaos, All till nothing remained except their words on the wind.
  138. (Nyx)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140. [00:06] And like before.... His golden flames were no match for the fallen Kaor's red cosmic. Despite his best effort, despite him going above and beyond as he always attempted to do, it simply wasn't enough. It was never enough, and now... It was all over.
  141.
  142. Tendrils of the Kaor's corrupted energy, shot forward grabbing onto him. His body was already limp, so he couldn't even muster the strength to resist. The grip tightened as he was brought up into the air, and yet despite all of his, all the pain that was currently shooting throughout his entire body, not once did his head drop.
  143.
  144. He was Gehennan after all, and only slaves bow, and even in death, he wouldn't be a slave.
  145.
  146. And yet Nyx, the beast that had betrayed not only him, but all of Gehenna, had offered him a mercy. Something he hadn't expected. The light that shone so brightly around the chieftain began to fade away, dimming as he began to fade into the realm of unconsciousness, butnot before getting one last, one final look at his home.
  147.
  148. Gehenna, the place that had raised him, molded him from some lazy shitty brat who sat on a bench, refusing to leave it, for no other reason than he didn't want to move. Then he met Kabu, and Declan, the two men that would later become brothers to him.
  149.
  150. Back then Declan was just a humble lad, focused on making the world a better place. The same damn man who would randomly clothesline him, before calling him thicc.. Of course he would later go on to do some rather crazy thing, but in the end. Declan was his brother, and he was going to join him.
  151.
  152. Then there was Kabu, his brother, his fellow chieftain, the one person in the world he was closest too. The anchor that kept him tied down, the one person in all of Agartha that he knew would have his back, and yet... Now he couldn't even cover his closest friends back. He was leaving him alone. The last of their generation.
  153.
  154. A glance was sparred down for a moment, as he examined the cosmic energy that seemed to be building up beneath him. Right, so that's how he was going to finish him off, eh?
  155.
  156. Sorry Ohtoli and Bubbles, seems like your father wasn't going to be able to show up and guide you both towards a better tomorrow. That was... Simply impossible at this point.
  157.
  158. He'd hear no more of Ohtli's, or Tototl's wisdom, nor would he ever smoke soothe reed with Artaghh, Sugarboy, or Vedran ever again.
  159.
  160. Yet, there was still hope, despite him failing here, Ezmara was still in very capable hands. Elyon, who he had been grooming to replace him would make a fine chieftain, Eshmun a damn fine warchief.
  161.
  162. A cough escapes from his lips, as he stares at Nyx for a moment, before slowly shaking his head. "Yeah, I got one.
  163.
  164. I might be dying here, and you might be the one killing me, but I just want you to know one thing. I don't hate you for what you've done. I would have done the same damn thing if the tables were turned. Oh, and one last thing."
  165.
  166. He paused for a moment.
  167.
  168. "Gehenna will be fine without me."
  169.
  170. With his eyes still shut, he'd simply wait for the cosmic energy to overtake him, and end his life.
  171.
  172. At long last, he could get some rest.
  173. (Saba Sugar)
