  1. Guide to Competitive social PVP.
  2.
  3. Some of you are real autist faggots, so I thought i'd share my extremely high-tech surefire guide to social Player vs Player combat. This guide will bring you closer towards several key practicable skills that will help you in future social PVP scenario. I do not suggest you use these combat techniques against your friends, I do not suggest you use these combat techniques in open. I do not suggest you use these combat techniques for evil deeds.
  4.
  5. Chapter 1.0 Getting started.
  6.
  7. 1.1 Identify what you want from someone.-
  8.
  9. The first step towards getting what you want, is knowing what you actually want from a person. This prevents you from gaining things you didn't actually want, or more importantly, losing the thing you actually wanted while trying to gain something you weren't as interested in.
  10.
  11. This first step is most commonly visible when it's obvious the person didn't do take this step till after they had already lost what they actually wanted. One common failure of this category is getting cucked even though the person may actually like you, or may have been willing to commit further to you and prevent this from happening.
  12.
  13. Specifically, when person A wants a relationship with person B, they may see sex as the ultimate goal, they may identify this as the primary or final endstate of getting what they want. Not considering that a casual arrangement may hurt them worse than not receiving the sex in the first place. Which then leads to the person trying to recoup and change the arrangement while in a reactionary state of mind, which often comes off as creepy or unfair.
  14.
  15. 1.2 Identify what the person who you are in strife with wants.-
  16.
  17. There exists four primary states of a finished deal. They are as follows.
  18.
  19. Person A and Person B both get what they wanted.
  20. Person A gets what they wanted, but person B doesn't, or gets some lesser version.
  21. Person B gets what they wanted, but person A doesn't, or gets some lesser version.
  22. Neither Person A nor Person B are able to get anything they want, or a lesser version of what they both had wanted.
  23.
  24. Both person want to avoid about 50% of this chart in a normal arrangement. There exist some arrangements where the deals are incompatible, Person A and Person B can't both get what they want. or even though they can, one of the parties wants to stop this from happening.
  25.
  26. Identifying what people want prior to initiating combat can avoid needless conflicts. Either via identifying that your goals are incompatible at core, or identifying that you both want a same shareable object or condition, or that you both are able to trade objects/conditions in a manner that neither party is injured by excessively.
  27.
  28. 1.3 Initiation.-
  29.
  30. If you've ever traded in certain games before, you may already know that the act of initiation may immediately put you at a lesser state, although it doesn't necessarily have to. In Tf2, and dota for example, people initiating a trade by asking for something they wanted will often be told that they must trade two items of equal value. "I have what you want, and you don't have something I want, or don't know what you have is what I want." In this case the previous two segments have come heavily into play. By announcing what you want, and not knowing what the other player wants the other player now has a position of power over you. They are able to bargain you to pay double what you should. If they actually didn't want anything from you, than this deal was merely buying at loss. However their existed a startling alternative. If you had what they wanted to begin with, they could possibly get what they had wanted from you, and you could have still paid double for the privilege.
  31.
  32. When Initiating, you might consider holding off on barraging for what you actually want, or you may consider LYING about what you want. If you know what you want and what they want, you could consider Offering what they want for them, and serendipitously receiving what you want from them without mentioning it's what you had wanted. For example.
  33.
  34. Here are two examples of this from differing perspectives.
  35.
  36. Example 1 - I know that person C wants my possession or service. I message them, immediately offering what they want to them. They know that they have most likely pay slightly above average for the privilege. They do not know that they have a possession or service which I would like, they might happen to offer what I want. If they do not offer what I wanted, I could try and change the terms of the arrangement. Perhaps after their offer, I can present this in several ways.
  37.
  38. Outright admittance. - You don't have to mention that you were intentionally attempting to deceive them. Instead you can present the facts as if you have happened to notice what you wanted just now, and now ask for that in a one on one trade.
  39.
  40. Deflection. - This dark magic pvp spell might potentially lead to further complications, and you should only attempt when you are sure you can afford not getting what you want at all due to them figuring out your ruse. You could say, "Well I don't want anything you have, but I ESPECIALLY don't want what you are offering, you have to change the offer to something else." Depending on how badly they want what you're selling, they may allow you to simply pick what you want, or if they have a limited pool of potential valuable objects/services, you could spin the RNG wheel again and hope they now offer what you had wanted in the first place.
  41.
  42. Example 2 - I do not know what person D wants. I message them, and attempt a trade for something else I potentially don't want with a much cheaper value than the thing I do want. I make no fuss during the transaction, and establish repair, or Yes-cycle debuff values on my enemy (further elaborated in later chapter) Perhaps I DO have something they want, and in the transaction they realize that I can be trusted, and that they want something I have. They could now move on the trade, potentially OFFERING for what they want, From there, I can then move on to outright admittance, or deflection once again. There exists the possibility that when applying the repertoire or yes-cycle debuffs, you can ALSO merely ask for the second thing you want, and rely on the debuffs to proc their primary effects, allowing you to bypass the initiation debuff you currently have applied.
  43.
  44. 1.4 Medium. -
  45.
  46. After you initiate or have been initiated upon. You may find that your opponent is intentionally or un-intentionally using these very tactics on you. Quickly identifying already covered and future material is essential to social PVP. Different players may also have unique styles, or unoptimal strategies that you are unprepared for. A strategy with a glaring flaw might as well have no flaw at all if you don't know what that flaw is. Once again it should be noted that not all pvp interactions must continue into strife conditions. Consider the examples above, when a player is attempting to deceive you but you happen to want what they are selling you. You have identified the ruse, however is it really best to oust your enemy? Consider potential complications when you take someone who is already giving you what you want out of their comfort zone. Their exist a possibility that they will no longer wish to transact with you even though the conditions are exactly the same due to the human-element procc which occasionally makes PVP unpredictable. This will be covered more thoroughly in the sections involving arguing from a position of power, of weakness, and of mish-mash.
  47.
  48. These are not the only potential complications that may arise in this medium period however. As prior mentioned, people may have unique or unoptimal strategies. They may be trying to outright scam you, presenting you terms that are favorable or believable which they can not or merely will not deliver on. They may prioritize certain aspects of the trade, they may want you to respond as quickly as possible, or they may have some other sense of duty of value beyond pricepoint attached to what you want. They may consider you untrustworthy with or without cause and attempt to make you agree to attached terms beyond the deal at hand. Those attached terms may be the purpose of their deal in the first place. They may have absolutely no idea what they are doing and be complete illogical and irrational, and absolute or traditional values might be arbitrary to them secondary or worse to some alternative pricing/value scheme.
  49.
  50. PVP can end in draws at a moments notice due to mismatched expectations, miscommunication, and unintuitive, or uncooperative players. It's important to identify these factors on the fly and practice with your friends or in training grounds specifically designed for this sort of warfare.
  51.
  52. ---TRY IT YOURSELF---
  53.
  54. If you have a friend who also wants to practice, or is willing to step in merely to help you learn. Practice reaching agreements when both of you have mismatched values, or when alternative logic is in application. (alternative logic isn't a meme trump wrong, it's an actual thing.) Make sure that you and your friend aren't both faggots who always pick Edgy joker no clear motivations argue partners.
  55.
  56. >Remember your goal doesn't and shouldn't always be, "I get everything and they get nothing" they want.
  57. >Remember to set a topic of general discussion such as flirtation or payment for services, so that you don't enter conversation with completely unconnected goals.
  58. >Remember to be aware of situations where your goals have aligned, consider any unnecessary bargaining or strenuous conversing as a failure when it turns out that you had the same shareable goal.
  59. >Remember that your job is not to let your friend win, and their job is not to let you win. If your friend is being completely uncooperative or wants something your character is unable or unwilling to give, and no movement can be made. Perhaps simply ending debate is the most successful strategy.
  60. >Remember to assign values to your goal, 1 being "I want enough to ask" and 10 being "I want enough to never leave this conversation as long as the other person doesn't." (your assigned value should never be 1 or 10)
  61.
  62. ---------------------
  63.
  64. 1.5 Closing.
  65.
  66. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO_t7GtXO6w
  67.
  68. A deal isn't done till you have what you want or definitely do not have what you want. A deal should be finished as soon as the terms are agreed upon. (this will be further elaborated on in chapter 2.) Whenever possible. If the person is able to give you what you want NOW, then stipulate that you want it NOW. Not at some other arbitrary time. If conditions are such that it is impossible or unfeasible, an absolute deadline should be set, it should be realistic but tight, and fair to both parties. Impossibly restricting or unfair closing times can and will not ruin a settled deal. If you want sovot to give you the rare valuable breedable pony he has in stock, do not let him leave without giving you that pony.
  69.
  70. What can happen if you don't close???
  71. -The person can continue searching and find a better deal in the meantime.
  72. -The person can re-evaluate what they want, perhaps they didn't know what they wanted at first, or didn't know what you wanted, and upon stepping back and evaluating they realize that they should try and renegotiate or that they don't want that after all.
  73. -Markets can fluctuate in unfavorable conditions for you. (while they could potentially change to your benefit, you must then renegotiate yourself, which can be more annoying then finalizing the deal)
  74.
  75. Im saying this as if we're talking about a product, as if you are buying a rare gacha from someone, but make no mistake, Im talking about GETTING THE GIRL as much as getting your rare gacha. Consider, if a previously open girl you are interested in, is asked out on a committed level. The market has changed. The deal is squashed. You are CUCKED.
  76.
  77. Chapter 2.0 - Selling to someone who may not want to buy.
  78.
  79.
  80. 2.1- Humble beginnings.
  81.
  82. There are several important factors to selling to someone who doesn't want to buy from you, or doesn't know if they want to buy from you, or doesn't want to buy your product they want from YOU. I will be covering these primary and essential skills in this chapter, but first lets start with buzzwords and vocab.
  83.
  84. 2.1.1 The Yes Cycle. - Whenever you, or anyone, even people who are aware of the yes cycle say yes, the likelihood is that they will want to continue to say yes in the future.
  85.
  86. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2005/10/09/a-hoax-most-cruel-caller-coaxed-mcdonalds-managers-/28936597/
  87.
  88. This is not a bullshit concept, this is a well established and well known process, you will see this in every day life wherever you go. When you come into McDonald's, a good cashier will repeat your order to you, you will confirm by saying YES, they will now follow up with "Large?" They could have asked you if you wanted a large the first time they asked, yet TIME AND TIME AGAIN, they will ask you after you've already confirmed your order. Why do they do this? Have you noticed this in other ventures? The answer is probably. Oh you want to see Iron man? Yes -> 3d? Oh you want to buy a computer? Do you know how to set it up yourself? Yes -> Do you want a warranty?
  89.
  90. This is a primary concept of selling anything and is an essential concept of upselling. Not all bells and whistles are meant for you to buy. Some are merely there to illicit a positive YES response. Notice particularly insidious double traps in the case of buying a new computer. If you can't set it up yourself, then they can sell you something. If you CAN and say "YES" you might continue to say yes for the next question as well even if you'd have otherwise said no.
  91.
  92. 2.2.2 Genuine Compliment. - Pay people you are approaching a genuine compliment. This may seem like it directly contradicts with the previous section where we learned not to let on you want something too early, but consider that the compliment is entirely free, giving it doesn't necessarily mean that you want anything unless from them, they may have initiated conversation with you in the first place. Make sure not to specifically compliment the thing you want, unless you are sure that they want to come to a mutual agreement in the firstplace. "Hey your drawing are amazing" should not follow into "Can I buy a drawing from you?" unless the price is already set. "Whoa that legendary weed blade is fucking smoking brow I can't live without it" should not be your opener to "so can I buy it?"
  93.
  94. Consider the following example.
  95.
  96. "I really like your avatar" -> "Did you make it yourself" -> "Hey want to fuk?"
  97.
  98. In this situation, you've complimented their avatar, and you happen to want to fuck it, now this isn't the worst thing in the world since liking someone avatar could lead to a number of different asks after, however it might not be the best, you can try being more specific. "I really like your avatar's eyes." is a lot more specific than that. In addition, the question, did you make it yourself may be illicit with a direct no, maybe their friend made it for them, maybe they bought it as a set, or maybe they bought it at all and don't consider it the same as them making it. So let's change it up a bit.
  99.
  100.
  101. "I really like your avatar's eye texture" -> "Can you tell me where you got it?" -> "Hey want to fuk?"
  102.
  103. This combination is a lot more fluid, the answer of where did you get your eyes may be answered with no, but its a lot less likely overall, or it may result in an interlude where they explain they made it or a friend made it, to which you can start over. "Oh that's really cool, so you make your own stuff?" Now the target has said yes, and you can continue to "hey want to fuck?" where they are more likely to say yes again.
  104.
  105. Take not that only genuine compliments are effective, if your partner things you are lying, they may thing you are a faglord and disengage with you.
  106.
  107. 2.2.3 Team play/Problem creation. - Whenever possible you want the person who you are persuading to think you are on the same team or when that's impossible, that you speak for their team, or when that's impossible that you heard from their team. Let's consider the previous example where your competitor has entered interlude mode, announcing that they made their own eyes. After re-complimenting them, you can say "oh wow, I make my own stuff too." You are now on the same team. Never attempt to be a part of a team you aren't too many things can go wrong. Instead pretend you speak for their team in concerns to what you are attempting to get, in this example we are trying to get fuk, so we'll make their team talk for that. "Hahaha, some of my friends are content creators too, and they always say how hard it is to find non-creators who are attractive." This opens yourself to a potential hard no, this will be discussed in the end of this chapter. Lets review the final case, you arnt part of their team, and you don't know anything relevant about their team. "Oh wow, I heard from some creators today that the server was really lagging." This opens a large no-response potential, this is unideal however its not impossible to recover from this situation. Showing that you are interested in their team may be enough to associate you with their team, and if they say "it wasn't lagging for me" you can reset and return to compliment. "Oh wow, you really know your stuff, I'll trust your word on it"
  108.
  109. 2.2.4 Deadlines. - THIS IS A LIMITED TIME DEAL, YOU CAN'T GET THIS AGAIN, YOU CAN'T GET THIS AT THIS PRICE AGAIN, YOU WONT FIND SOMEONE AS ATTRACTIVE AS ME IN THIS CLUB ONCE IM GONE, YOUR NEIGHBORS ARE ALL INTERESTED SO IM MOVING ON NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT IT.
  110.
  111. This deal is EXCLUSIVE, and your time is VALUABLE, and it is URGENT That they decide NOW NOW NOW.
  112.
  113. 2.2.5 NO. - You don't want to be a beta orbiter faggot, you want to get your no, and move on. You don't want to hang on her every word for three months while you try and slow roll into their heart, you don't want to invest time in a mad joker faggot who is unreasonable in any way, you don't want to waste your own time. Getting to NO as fast as possible is a priority since you don't want to waste your time. Take risks, be open to failure, be willing to try again on a new target despite past failures. This same reasoning applies to deadlines and closing.
  114.
  115. 2.3 Arguing from a position of power.-
  116.
  117. Be confident, be genuine, be willing to fail. These are the primary attributes necessary for arguing from a position of power. Notice that I didn't mention having any power. Your opponent doesn't know your spec, they don't know what you're going to try, they don't know that you invested every last point into swimming and picked the turned down your primary weapon. You could be anyone, you could have anything. Merely being confident in yourself can persuade your competitor into believing that you do have the position of power. Never call out that you don't have a position of power if you don't need to, never lie that you do have a position of power that the person didn't know about after they call you out
  118.
  119. You are giving this person a deal, even if you aren't.
  120. You time is valuable and you have to go, even if you don't.
  121. You don't really care if they don't give you what you want, you get what you so much that you'll just move on if they are some kind of weirdo who doesn't recognize that you are giving them a deal and time is limited.
  122.
  123. Never attempt to argue from a position of power when it's obvious you don't have any. If a hobo walks up to your car, and says "police here Im taking your ride" you're not going to even open the door for them. You will run them over to get away if you have to regardless of truth. This is the opposite effect of smurfing, on your smurf account with a shit specc and nothing of value immediately starting the match by giving people orders will merely get you called a faggot.
  124.
  125. 2.4 Arguing from a position of weakness.-
  126.
  127. Maybe this person obviously has the upper hand in a provable way. Maybe four other people are offering them the same product, maybe you can't afford to not get what you want or at least a lesser version of it.
  128.
  129. This is a case from which you already do not have power, this is a subtle art, and I won't be discussing methods to pretend you have power, those methods are already over and failed or so obvious it isn't worth it. You are the lesser, and you need something from them.
  130.
  131. - Common myth to start-
  132. There's a comic that went around on 4chan where this dude tells you to give your dream girl a huge present once every 3 months and pretend like you don't really care about it and it's not a big deal. This is the opposite of what you want to do. Whenever you give someone a present or do them a favor, time diminishes the value of your favor. Which leads into the next two elements.
  133.
  134. 2.4.1 - Ask. - You don't have what they want, or you can't prove you have what they want, or etc, they know this, and they can ask you for anything they want. The more you argue with someone, the more divided you become on the topic, this is why Deadline, and yes-cycle are so important. If your argument starts out as "my favorite color is blue" vs. "my favorite color is red" the argument will quickly deteriorate into "Blue is the best color, and Red is a shit. Vs. "Blue is for faggots and Red is god tier." This is unhelpful to you. Simply surrendering to their judgment immediately may be the best course of action. Lets go all the way back to tf2 trading. You start out and they want 2:1 trade, so you argue that 2:1 is unfair, that your 1 is more valuable then a normal 1, and he should be happy you offered that 1 to begin with. Now he wants 3:1 because you're a fag whose wasting his time trading. So you call him a faggot back, and now hes unwilling to trade with you at all. That deal is gone forever.
  135.
  136. Instead, appeal. "Hey man, that's really hard on me right now, is there any way you can lower that?" You are now in a state of surrender, they don't have to argue with you anymore, they can ask for anything they want, they already asked for something above market value, but now they can ask for something specific that's a bit more fair. Or they can say No, at which point the bridge was not burned you can still opt into the original deal and get what you want even though the price is higher then you'd like.
  137.
  138. 2.4.2 - Play into weakness. - When you get a message from a scammer who wants your credit card number in order to give you a million dollars, everything is misspelled, why is that? Obviously its because they are so dumb and stupid, right?
  139.
  140. Not quite. You see, when someone hasn't identified what you want, perhaps you can persuade them into believing that the deal will pay off for them in the long run because they can scam you more over time then merely taking what they want now. "Hey I want to ERP, IM willing to pay 5000L to ERP with you." They agree to this obvious bullshit that only favors them. "But can we do X first?" Can we CUDDLE? Can you show me a SAMPLE? Can you do X for me? But I can't pay right now... But L seems screwy with the market right now... But...
  141.
  142. You're so stupid, and dumb, there's no way you could fool them, so they have nothing to be afraid of.
  143.
  144. 2.4.3 - The long haul. - you're astutely aware that you aren't getting what you want today, but that doesn't mean you aren't getting what you want tomorrow. Earlier I argued against prolonging, I argued against delaying your No, but there's something else in the mix here. The thing you want is a genuine 10. You can't afford to give up till they get a restraining order against you.
  145.
  146. Every time they negotiate with you, it contributes to a sunken cost. You see, this is sort of like the gambler fallacy, however you can't see how much you've already invested. Time has no monetary value, all they can consider is that more and more time has been thrown into the water, and they still can't see the fruits of their labor. Consider a concrete company is tasked with filling a well that's so dark they can't see the bottom. They agree without knowing how deep it is, because how deep could it be, and accept a price of three thousand dollars. They show up, and fill fill fill the well, but to their dismay, half of their concrete is gone, and the well doesn't look any fuller... but only the top ten feet are really visible, so they pour pour pour, till all their concrete is gone, they've spent 3000 dollars worth of concrete. The well isn't full so they know you won't pay, but maybe if they pour in a bit more, they'll at least make back a portion of their investment, see right now they are down 3000 dollars, but if they start filling and finish before they use up all the new concrete they bought, they'll be down less money, maybe it's really close!
  147.
  148. Because of this, the more time they put into a deal without reaching a conclusion the more likely they are to lower their prices. This can be seen primarily in the housing market where houses are put up at inspection value then fall to "priced to sell" as the owner continues to lose money to property tax or rent.
  149.
  150. Chapter 3.0 The mish-mash. [Finale]
  151.
  152. Most situations won't be this cut and dry, you'll go into the situation and not really know who really initiated, because it was a public setting start, or you'll go into a conversation and they'll want something abritrary from you and the goals will seem incompatible. You'll have the power, then they'll have the power, then some third party has all the power and also hey fuck there's like 20 people here each who want something. Always be looking to simplify, arguing from a position of weakness is better then random fucking whatever happens happens, you have steps you can take. Starting off by calling them an uggo (negging) is better than orbiting eachother or just orbiting them for 3-4 months and gaining no traction.
  153.
  154. Actual PVP will be messy, people will disengage then immediately re-engage, you'll have for sure fucked up your only chance, and they'll decide later that maybe your deal wasn't so bad and try to make it up to you. You'll have something fine with no warning signs and all the right flags, and then they just don't come back on.
  155.
  156. And remember, you'll improve every time you try, so practice practice practice.
