- Welcome back, comrades. This is MFKraven, and you're watching Less Than 10 Minute Reviews, the YouTube series where I take a look at games that seem cool and give my thoughts on them in less than 10 minutes. Today I take a look at Blooming Business Casino, a narrative-driven business tycoon...eh...simulator in which you take the role of a patsy who inherits a casino in the city of Las Venas, and all the debt the previous owner had with the animal mafia? It's a fun and cozy game taking on some of the worst of society, but is digging yourself out of debt by creating some of the most profitable casinos in the land worth it? Let's find out. Graphics Sound and Art Style I absolutely adore the graphics and art style of this game. It's what drew me to it. Something about its warm tones and old school Vegas feel. 1950s Vegas to be precise. Everything being brought together with that type of music from that era. For sure it's a whole ass vibe, man. Gameplay In this tycoon inspired by the rise of Las Vegas in the 1950s, your mission is to revive a rundown casino, complete quests, and manage your clientele for maximum profit. You gain income and reputation, you'll advance through the casino ranks from dusty desert to glittering heights of Las Venas. And whether you play the main story there is also a sandbox mode that you can play and lose yourself in. Price $24.99 USD. How many hours estimated? I'm only a few hours into my gameplay. I've encountered a few game breaking bugs that made me restart the entirety of a kind of tedious level. The main story seems to be about 10 hours long, however you can keep playing a casino you beat to try to get that level's quote-unquote boss to get a 99 satisfaction rating, which is much easier done than said. Yes, I know how I said that. Is it playable on Steam Deck? Well, it is playable on Steam Deck. Personally, it just wasn't for me. I didn't like the controls, I didn't like the feel of it, and I didn't like the fact that if you're trying to do the story, the letter seems a little bit small. Final Thoughts I guess you could say I kept the rest of this review pretty short for a reason. I wanted to talk about the game and what the devs have labeled it, because it is far from being a tycoon. I really felt like I didn't need to micromanage anything or do anything for my finances because I never went broke. I always had way more money to spend on anything that I wanted to do. It's definitely more of a simulation which isn't bad. I found that it being really easy I could concentrate on making the casino look like I wanted it to look like within the limitations of the game, of course. See, you're giving an empty shell of a building and it's up to you to place where you have your bathroom slots, arcade, card games, dice games, bars, lounges, area, etc. You can only place slots in slot areas, blackjack tables on card areas, you get the idea. You need to hire employees to run the bars, card tables, the crafts tables, the entrance, janitors to clean the casino, bouncers and security. But again, I just randomly picked my employees and I still made profits as long as I had enough clientele. And they do keep on coming with the more stuff that you place. Again, it's not bad, I'm quite enjoying it, but I'm enjoying it more as a cozy game, because the cutesy animals, the 50s inspired Vegas twists, having a little bear that's a mobster, no real difficulty curve, maybe with the pit bosses having to balance stuff out in the later levels, but even that can be fixed with a quote-unquote small talk. Marketing departments should be targeting people who like cozy games, not tycoon games, but I've been singing the praises a little bit too much as of this review, so I'm going to tell you a little bit of problems that i ran into and it is a couple of them see if you do an objective before the objective actually appears the story just stops progressing like it did here or if i edited an area and sold one item and extended the area i was stuck i couldn't release it anymore it was only about 20 to 30 minutes worth of work, but a full 1.0 release shouldn't be having these kind of problems. Plus I don't understand how in some casinos I can have space themed items but I can't in others. Western in some, but not in others. As themes can draw in certain clientele to your establishment. I do appreciate though having a bunch of variant colors for each piece of furniture. All in all, Blooming Business Casino offers no real challenge, so people who want a tycoon game stay away. The closest I can kind of compare this game to is Two Point Campus. You're doing tasks and building your empire with really nothing holding you back. As you progress from casino to casino you learn a little bit more of the core gameplay but even without learning too much of it it's fun. See personally i like two-point camping and i like blooming business. They're both quirky they're both funny at times and the biggest plus for this game though, is that I love to see all the little animals be degenerate gamblers. Just like me. But I would maybe wait for it to go on sale, or wait for a few updates before you actually commit to this game. It's current sale price is $18.75 USD. I say if you can get it down to $15 worth it 100% but for now everybody else I say wait for sale. La la la la la la La la la la la la La la la la la la Ooh, la la la la la la
