  1. There is a large movement these days in the more open-minded and liberal areas of the country for "gay rights". It seems that these people are arguing that homosexual individuals and couples should have the same social rights and abilities as everyone else; for example, the "right" to have a same-sex marriage, the "right" to adopt children. Their argument is such that represents the issue from an "equal rights" standpoint.

  3. Unfortunately, everyone knows that being gay is wrong. The Bible clearly states that marriage is a holy relationship between one man and one woman; not two men, not two women. The government's job is not to administer marriages themselves but to recognize a marriage performed by a church. Marriage therefore is an institution defined by the Christian church; government does not have the right to meddle in its affairs. In some states, same-sex marriage is allowed and is recognized by the state government; by allowing this, they have degraded the sanctity of every single marriage. If gays are allowed to get married, the holiness of the institution of marriage as a whole is lowered.

  5. We need to protect marriage.
